Painful as it was i am still happy for the guy. He has been thru a lot lately. You are the luckiest guy around living in the beautiful state of Michigan. You Rock no matter what your finding Rob!
Rob i'd love to meet up with you in alpena sometime, i'm on the other side of the state but thanks to you and Kyles videos i have gone to partridge point and would love to show you what i found! i've only been there once so far but i came out with 5 small blastoids, 2 trilobite pieces, 1 heavily worn calyx, another piece of a calyx and i believe a crinoid holdfast or anchor, whatever it's called lol
No way y'all! I couldn't believe this fossil when I found it. They are extremely rare at this location! Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you for being here. 🙏
* Your intro, "Way, way, way back" - reminded me of the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show & their "Way Back Machine" ~ Rob has a Beach instead of a Machine.. LOL ~ Love the Death Plate pieces..
The coolest thing I found that was completely out of place was a shell on top of a mountain in Montana. I think it was in the Lewis and Clark preserve or possibly the Rocky Mountain range. I only was able to do such an epic trip because I got myself into a lot of trouble and a treatment center with a wilderness trip sounded way better than 5 years locked up. That trip was what made me love nature so that's one positive thing that came out of my stupidity.
LoL, I love Michigan Rocks!! I didn’t really pay to much attention to rocks before watching you both. Needless to say, I look for rocks all over the place now,LoL. Keep posting, and I’ll keep watching. ✌️❤️😃
Wow you really found some wonderful fossils! That trilobite was totally awesome! What a great find! and the brachiopods, and crinoid stems and the little calyx, and the just everything! So awesome! What great finds, and anytime you get to hang out with Rob and Sam is a great time! So much fun! Awesome day!
It's a lot of fun watching you all go hunting together. Nice Sam could join you both. I've been subscribed to Rob's channel for quite a while. Cool trilobite.
Yay!! Still loving you some Michigan, huh? Heck ya man! Greatest summers on the many lakes. I already subscribe to Rob, fo sho! @Michiganrocks Go State!!!! Green all the way baby!!
Nobody cares about this much, or any, but when I was a kid, about age 11 and 12, down in Austin, TX, I was in a science group on Saturdays. We'd go fossil and rock hunting. I knew about brachiopods in 1964 because I was going on field trips on the Balconies fault. It was a lotta fun. Fun to watch you guys do it now, way up north :) And you found a TRILOBITE! I'm really jealous. I always wanted to find one. Oh well...
Lots of fossils. I’ve never heard of them except the trilobite. I subscribed to Michigan Rocks when he was down in Florida with you. Cool video brother
I had been subbed to Rob but hadn’t seen anything in my feed for a while… clicked the link you provided and saw I had gotten unsubscribed … needless to say I resubscribed!
Wow! What an amazing day and fossil finds. 🤯 I'm already subscribed to Rob's channel, Michigan Rocks, and it's one of my favorites as well. You guys really found some fantastic fossils! It was cool to see Rob and Sam in your video. Thanks for sharing Kyle!✌️🤠
Poor Rob…I subscribed to his channel. Lol. Actually his channel is really great!! Thanks for sharing his link. I love channels like yours and while there is no shortage of fossil channels. There is a shortage of really good fossil channels! #wildkyleforthewin
Went to partridge point for the first time this spring and found some amazing horn coral, crinoids, a few petoskey stones, brachiopods, and a few partial trilobites. I’m so jealous of that blastoid you found though. Awesome finds! If you ever come back through South Haven Mi, check out Dimitridon Studios rock shop. They’ve got some amazing and beautiful things for sale in there, including wire wrap rock and fossil insects my hubby makes. Also if you ever are interested in trades for some of the stuff you find in Florida, I am always interested. Have a great day man!
Dude trilobites are some of my favorites. My buddy Jeff HuntingRocks RUclips channel hooked me up with some excellent ones! When the leaves are off this fall we’ll be back to Grafton Illinois to find more for sure. Epic fossil hunt. Good eye man! 💎👀💪
Beautiful finds, Kyle. Also, I like "fossil hash" over "death plate". Both are highly descriptive. I just like the sound of fossil hash. It tickles my fancy. I've been following Rob for a while now. Love his RUclips channel. Thanks Kyle. God bless. Take care. And stay vigilant. (Prayers continue for you and your mom).
It's cool to see that everything you have found aside from the blastoid and the trilobite i find here in southeast michigan! very cool! also...GO GREEN!!
Ahhh, my dream! At 10:20 I have been searching for these. Rob is gonna kill you. lol. This is one of our favorite beaches. That 5 sided crinoid is rare too.
Sweet Finds! Love Lake Superior and Lake Michigan shores! Sooooo much awesome things to find! Wowzer! You were at a honey hole of fossils! I’m looking for one by me on Lake Michigan. Super awesome! Glad you found a trilobite. They are pretty special when you find them. Keep looking in WI. You will find a bunch 🤩. Great Episode! Love your channel and your goofy humor! You make me laugh all the time 😉 Stay Crystal 💫 Mari
Congrats on the trilobite! Found my first Partridge Point trilobite this June--not as nice as yours as mine is just the pygidium and part of the thorax--but exciting regardless. Another cool but rare fossil to look for at Partridge Point is a type of ammonoid called a Goniatite. Found my first there last September. Anyway, keep the videos coming and if you are in Michigan or end up in the Dakotas, Utah, or Nevada looking for collecting sites, drop me a DM--happy to share.
If you are still up here in the north there are some awesome road cuttings in southern Indiana that have huge deposit of Devonian period fossils! I recently was hunting for fossils in a road cut three miles north of St, Lions on the highway 1 and found a literal treasure trove!
Dude awesome hunt! Love those little calyxes and blastoids! We find looots of stems here in montana but the calyxes are far more uncommon, blastoid is still on the wishlist😂 but dude that trilo is such an awesome score!!! Looked like a blast man! Awesome video brother! Looking forward to the next one!
Another great hunt Kyle! Here in the Mid-Ohio Valley you can find some interesting fossils, especially along the gravel lines on the beaches of the river. Always fun to watch your hunts for whatever it may be!
Thanks for sharing another awesome adventure, Sir Kyle! Always a pleasure to see you as well, Sir Rob! The first spider you showed does look like some kind of wolf spider. Possibly a grass spider, but those usually have banded legs. Fishing spiders usually have longer legs and slimmer bodies. Based on the abdomen/cephalothorax proportion and small pedipalps, I would be confident saying it was a female. Regardless, it was a beautiful spider. 😅 (Second spider looked like a some kind of grass spider.)
I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin I’m directly across the lake from Michigan. I find many cool fossils like the ones you found, including some small trilobite fossils. I was also blown away when I found them! Yours is awesome, Nice find! 🙂
Makin me jealous !! Those fossils are so cool! Look up Crawfordsville Crinoids when u get a chance.... was just out that way a couple months ago. Also not sure if it interests you but Mount Ida Arkansas has a 4 day rock show plus the quartz crystal championship dig October 8&9 at twin creek. $100 entry pays for both days. Best pieces win awards. It's typically all pocket digs, no tailing pile crap. We will be down there for sure.
If you ever come to England, go to a beach called 'Charmouth' next to 'Lyme Regis' where the - she sells seashells by the seashore - rhyme comes from, Lyme Regis is the famous beach but it's hard on the legs and feet from the rocks but Charmouth is the next beach along with sand and fossils that have mostly turned to pyrite! You won't want to leave lol
Funny to see someone that collects fossils for pretty much a living and a youtube channel and actually does not know that much about these fossils. Like the fivefold symetry in all crinoids and echinoids. The brachiopod at 2:14 is a species of Spirifer. The filter feeding (not bottom feeding) bryozoa, they are colonies of invertebrates and do you know there are a lot of species of Bryozoa still alive today in both fresh and salt water? Very nice trilobite find and I envy your fossil hunting trips.
Actually, it was Rob's video that led me to subscribe to yours. So I guess turnabout is fair play, eh? I love the Huron side of Michigan. Such an amazing wealth of fossils. I live in IN now. Went to southern IN geode hunting a couple of summers ago and found a geodized crinoid calyx. One of my best finds ever!
Next time you visit Michigan you should take a trip to the fossil ledges on Drummond Island. You need 4 wheel drive to get there but the area is loaded with fossils.
Poor Rob. But you found some great pieces! I'm AZ and our fossil range is 400>350 mya, Pennsylvania layer. Exact same fossils but I've found larger corals in the forest and also small shark's teeth. Elevation over 6k. A thousand miles away from Alpena. The inland sea covered most of the state. Dude! Clean your lens, there's still dirt on it. TFS 💖💔🦅🦅🏏
Did you study geology at school? Or did you learn while hunting rocks. That looks like a great place. Side note. I have been following Rob for a long time 😊
Don't believe him, Kyle. Rob is a stalker and very territorial 🤣so teasing you, Rob. There are no coincidences. It was destiny. Good company, good treasurers=great day.
I know this is an old video. But I very seriously suggest investing in knee pads. Probably gel ones. They're like $30 for most gel kneepads, and it'll make it much more comfortable to be on the ground searching
That was hard to watch. It was like a reoccurring nightmare. Maybe someday I'll find something awesome there. Pout, pout.
😆
Painful as it was i am still happy for the guy. He has been thru a lot lately. You are the luckiest guy around living in the beautiful state of Michigan. You Rock no matter what your finding Rob!
@@robbybobby6483 I'm just joking around. I was really happy for the fossil guy to find the best fossils.
I know it is a joke. Kyle has a great sense of humor. You are a really nice guy. All good buddy.

The way to make amends is to take Rob to the place where you and your dad were diving for fossil coral. That was magic.

That trilobite is the genus Pseudodechenella, and as you said, quite rare.
