- This is one of my FAVORITE locations to hunt for fossils when I come to Michigan. This time did NOT disappoint at all! Tons of awesome middle Devonian fossils from the Traverse Group which is 393-382 million years old!

The fossils you guys get to find are amazing! Its awesome that it is so full of fossils, you can literally reach down and pull out a fossil or several, with every step you take! And these calyxes are beautiful and different from each other, yet the same. Its just wonderful!! The death plates you pulled out of there are so full of amazing fossils, and every one is different. And a trilobutt! Now i know several people who fossil hunt in michigan, and ive never seen a trilobite come off the beach before! That is so amazing! And it is so wonderful to see you out there with your friends! Awesome! Thanks Kyle! And your song was really nice! I love your music!
Nothing is more perfect than hanging out with friends around a camp fire , listening to some live music, being with nature and hunting for fossils . 👍💕

I’m in Petoskey, the west side…grew up in East Tawas, the east side…then up by Mackinac, also Marquette on Superior…love the lakes. You know your fossils! Nice video.

The stay at the cabin looked so peaceful along with you playing the guitar, it had to be so relaxing. Beautiful place to be for that sunset. What a perfect transcendent evening to start. The sunset, campfire, hot dogs, beautiful gee-tar and good friends! Those are some insane fossils dude, and that giant horn coral! Holy smokes!!!! The new song is excellent! Almost forgot to mention that while hiking a trail in the mountains i came across a small creek that had thousands of ladybugs all over the rocks, not sure why, but they seemed to be enjoying the water too

It would be amazing to sit around a campfire and listen to you play (and sing?). Don’t have any musicians in my immediate family, so that was something lacking when we went camping and stuff.
Excellent video. Also loved the new song. My first impression was that it’s just a matter of time before you become so famous and busy with your music career that you won’t be able to take us treasure hunting anymore.
You absolutely deserve that level of success but I hope it never keeps you from getting out and enjoying nature.

I love your voice! I can hardly believe you found so many crinoid calyx fossils! I collected Devonian fossils growing up in central Ohio, but never once did I ever find a crinoid calyx. What an amazing beach to collect on.

My great uncle had a rock and mineral collection that I take care of now. I didn't really know what he had, but watching your videos has helped me to identify more fossils in his collection, like the crinoid stems! I just wanted to say thank you for teaching us about these things and bringing us on your adventures!

Fossil hunter from texas and just moved to Arizona. Finding crazy petrified wood now. Found your channel and love it. You always say that will look great after prep. I wish you would make a video of your collection and some of your prized fossils. I have crazy cool creatious fossils from Texas. When i was young i lived in Michigan and Illinois. I am fascinated with your brachiopod / horn coral/ baculite finds.

I was just up the road from your spot last weekend , and I found a 22 pound Petoskey stone, a full coral head with attachment head. I have not been to that beach yet but it is back on my list to go to.

I couldn't believe it when you actually suited up and went in. I lived in MI for 10yrs, and never found a natural body of water that wasn't absolutely freezing. I grew up in Hawaii and Florida, so.. never could dig the cold

I believe that longer Lady bug was a Coleomegilla maculata-Spotted Lady Beetle. They are indigenous to the eastern half of the United States.
