Really waiting for that! But at the moment, the Sim doesn’t even recognize my AB9 properly 🫠 the device name just stays blank and everything that I do bind to the base is deleted and forgotten by the next time I start up MSFS.
They can’t even release a decent sim and fix simple bugs that have been in MSFS2020 since launch and are still in MSFS2024, native ffb might be added to MSFS 2032!

Hi Steve, thank you for the review! I was looking forward to it. I hope you will record a quick update once 2024 drops to see how well it works with it. It’s the only thing holding me back from purchasing one at the moment. Thanks again!
This looks amazing, the price tag will be an issue for some people but if you spend a lot of hours in flight simulation this would be a fantastic investment. Something like force feedback on the yoke of this quality is only going to bring your simulation of flying an aircraft to a whole new level. Looking forward to seeing this force feedback base in action again but when you're using VR too.
You can’t get realistic stick forces with tiny motors. That places a limit on how inexpensive the hardware can get. Cheap plastic joysticks aren’t going to cut it.
This, my friend, looks absolutely AMAZING! I have decided that this must be a part of my daily simming life. Thanks, Mark. And thanks, Steve, for bringing this to my attention. I just got my mosa force feedback, and I have been using the Logitech g940 ffb for about 15 to 20 years. Before that, I used a Microsoft force feedback one and then two. It was a breath of fresh air to finally see the force feedback joysticks come back into the market. When it comes to having force feedback in games like Il2 sturmovik or DCS with the World War II Birds it is nice to have that feedback when you get into stall situations it really makes it fun to be able to do circus tricks.
@@billpii6314 Sadly, they don't fully support iL2 Sturmovik, but they said they are working on it. I can use it, but it doesn't pick up all of the telemetry, so I have to rely on my other haptic systems to give me that feedback. DCS is nice so far.
Great video Steve, your enthusiasm for the product is infectious. As a casual simmer it’s not really for me, but I wonder if you had to choose between a force feedback control or a motion rig, what would it be?
Thanks mate appreciate it. Interesting question, I think motion rig first, as you get a wider range of feel through it, which can actually translate to some of your controls, such as engine vibration and acceleration. But if you can't afford one, get a Force Feedback stick or yoke first. After VR of course 👍

I have one on pre-order in Canada for a really good price. Probably too good to be honest. I started using the Force Feedback 2 over 12 years ago and collected a total of 4 because I was skeptical about the return of FFB devices. Like you said, its game changing and hard to live without once you experience it.
I've been testing the the Moza AB9 with Varjo Aero (better than ever with SW updates) using DCS and IL2. Excellent coverage on AB9 already by Steve in this video but what I was really surprised about is the immersion in the DCS Huey helicopter for example. Huey is heavier than the Kiowa for example and together with the Buttkicker shaker on the rig the stick makes quite a bit of vibrations. It's a huge improvement compared to non FFB joystick but the shaker brings this immersion as well. I do sim racing as well and I'm working on a rig setup where sim racing and flight sim can be combined by changing the seat position so that the ctrl locations are in place for both setups. Maybe I'll make a video on it when it's completed. It still has some temporary solutions, work in progress.
Yeah I highly recommend even a cheap metal pit something that's strong to hook everything up to. Better ergonomics and it works good with the haptic butt kicker connected to the metal frame
On my second night with this beautiful base. I think peoples excitement with this base are those who have been using a spring to center stick and don't have a buttkicker. I've been on hydraulic feedback for 3 years. I feel guilty that my virpil base with 4 hydraulics on it is sitting in my cold garage right now. I'll give this thing a few more days before I drive it back to Microcenter. The F16 preset is nice though.
ok. nice Video. Have this in my mind since it was released. Price is very Ok but where to mount on my H2 ? ? ? My Virpil Base now is nearly as big as i can handle on my Rig between my Legs. This Base is even more bigger. Do you try it in your H3? Guessing even when competitive Producers come up with something similar, it wouldnt be any smaller.
There you go costing me more money again Steve! :) Great review, I know when you are that excited that it must be pretty good. Quick question, do you think it has enough deflection to make it similar to a non-force feedback center stick with an extension on it? I've been thinking about getting this, but obviously I couldn't use an extension if I mount it to the H6. Let me know your thoughts and have fun my friend!
@@GYGOtv hey Mark. Thanks mate for watching. The range feels great in standard form, but keep in mind my experience is quite limited with flight controllers.
I have one on order. Delivery is not expected for a few weeks yet (UK). My order was cancelled with no explanation and I had to email them. Response was quick and it would seem the order system threw a wobbly. Still need to keep chasing for updates, but responses are quick.
Hey Steve. Been looking at this stick and all reviews thus far have left me wondering. Is this configurable for helicopters as a non centering cyclic. Or will it always try to centre itself like a sprung stick??
why would you need trim in the F-16? It's a fbw system. In any case, it sounds very promising. I've been wanting a control loading system for years and this sounds close.
Have you done any episodes on the differences between the MS Store version of MSFS and or the Steam version? I did the store version last time and it always seemed kind of a pita.
Steam and MS Store are just distrubution channels, it doesn't matter for VR compositor in use either store version can youse either VR environment/compositor. However, I personally prefer the store version, but that depends on your own circumstances such as addons etc. Best wishes.
This one looks awesome i felt sad when my g940 dies in the past.. i just wish they made one stick without the thumb hat as i am left handed i'm pretty sure the stick will cause sore in a long session (as my 940 use to do)
Very true! Maybe I should try and get my grubby hands on one next. But I can't imagine it's going to beat the CLS-60. I actually think this AB9 is the best route into proper force feedback for the price.
He says that this Moza gear is so well bulit one can espect it to last 10 years or more.... My MS forcefeedback 2 sidewinder joystick is 23 years old and still going strong. And this is of using it regularly
so the question is VR, vs force feedback stick if could only have one. I think I'd maybe opt for force feedback as I rarely can be bothered to faff with getting the headset on (usually because I always struggle with either performance or other issues) and have fond memories of the old v1 MS Force feedback stick back in MS Combat FS days
For me it would be VR first. But you could opt to go Force Feedback and use a Tobii Eye Tracker. I'll have a vid about this on the channel soon actually.
Force feedback simulates things that you simply cannot get otherwise and has no downsides to it. VR on the other hand simulates the ability to look around with your head, which you can approximate through trackIR or eye tracking, and has the downside of giving you severely reduced visual acuity compared to other approaches. So if you can only have 1, it should be force feedback. Though really no reason why you can't have both because there's nice cheap VR options now.
@@jimmydesouza4375 yup for sure both if possible should be great. I guess the bigger debate now these are surfacing - are other forms of haptic, ie the motion platform haptic seat pads and buttkickers.......will having too much of these actually be a detriment as more than one feedback for the same thing might feel off, especially if at different latencies, and then be a mare to tweak/decide which for each
I'd love to know if virpil grips fully work. I have a constellation alpha-L (left handed grip) that i have to use due to disability, but obviously its a lot to spend to find out the hard way
Looks very good and pro build made. Tad expensive but it looks you get what you pay for it. Can you select per sim a plane preset? Or can you download other users configs per plane in MSFS2 sim? I would not want to spend all thar time setting it up and not knowing it's realistic for that specefic plane so you learn to fly a plane and feel it that way that could be so far off of the real deal you're not simming anymore...
Hey Sven. Yes you absolutely can, I've been messing around with a few profiles that Tally Mouse made after the video. Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Maybe see you for tomorrow's fly in?
Delivery is really slow unfortunately, l've been waiting 4 week so far and still no news on when it. will be dispatched to the UK. Update base turned up today, l had no notification it had even been posted, its taken 23 working days from order to delivery so pretty much as stated on the website. Just mounted to my simlab rig very nicely 😊
I was thinking of going with the CLS60 or 120, but after watching many reviews and really thinking about what I fly I am going to go with the AB9. It will work fine on most GA yoke type aircraft with the correct settings, but a yoke can never replicate a stick.
Can you mount the Base Stick on the side of your motion rick and tell me how it feels while playing flight sim because it so heavy (7,9Kg). I would like to know if it is overloaded from one side. Thanks
I owned a brunner ffb yoke for a year. I had to sell it sadly to pay the bills. The difference is night and day. I might get this base, but I heard some negative feedback on the software for it. That's the only thing holding me back.
I found the software to be decent, but then I'm comparing it to the CLS-60 which could do with some improvement. There may be better software out there for more expensive offerings. Sorry you had to sell up, but I do feel this is a great alternative, especially for the price point.
It was a game changer for me personally. only cost $40 for this. I pre-ordered. Got it a few weeks later. Broken out of the box. Motors not working, Axis not working, Virpil Grip 70% working now when I got it (month later 90% good now). BRAND NEW FROM FACTORY. NEVER WORKED. I got refund minus my $40 for paying over $550 for something that never worked. VIRPIL release the FFB. or Winwing for the time until then. But Moza me personally I can’t wait for the FFB pedals for racing. Thats my next buy. D-Mover 6 DOF almost here.
Depends on the individual. I can’t get away with VR. And I’ve used it for years. Can you get access to VR to test for at least 1hr? Personally fidelity and FF in driving/ flying for me.
I purchased the Moza base and am thinking about buying the CLS-120 as well. I had a Microsoft Sidewinder Force-feedback stick when it first came out but considered it to be mostly a gimmick at the time. The magnitude of the forces was too small for any sort of realism. I’m glad to see higher-end hardware becoming available at (relatively) affordable prices.
I bought a Moza base and it works great in DCS. I am very disappointed though that it doesn't work with X-Plane even though they claim XP11 and 12 support on their web site. I asked them about it and they say it's still in development. Pretty deceptive if you ask me. I build commercial sim products in XP so I hope they add it soon but after googling the issue, they've been promising this for a long time.
Stop making me want to spend money!!! Man I really have to get this base. I just got a 40cm gooseneck extension for my warthog, and it will screw straight onto this base. Thanks for the vid.
What would this be like with jets in something like warthunder where the ffb from the game seems to be for props only? can I select a profile ffb and overide the games ffb?
I think this could be the one.... I like flying GA airplanes with my joystick plus rudder.. Definitely on my bucket list for Christmas... 🎄 ho ho ho... 🐦 ❤ ✈️
Looking forward to an integration with Authentikit’s Spitfire control column :-) It would be great if they would publish physical and electrical interface info.
When I got my mosa I have to be honest it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to attach the joystick, I did not even think that you could pull the cable through the bottom and it's not like your first instinct to start pulling things apart on your brand new toys😂 but you do have to pull down that wire and attach it to the base which you'll see the arrow goes to the left and if you just try to stick the stick on and you've never used this type of Hotas, you will be scratching your head because I couldn't find a single video where anyone demoing this showed that. Part of the problem is the connecting wire was perfectly snug in the center of the joystick position as though it was made that way, if the wire was a little bit extended or the diagram in the booklet showed someone pulling that wire out and attaching it then I would have figured it out pretty quickly but I went through 20 RUclips videos not one person showed this
I build airplane parts for a living and "aviation grade" isn't a specific alloy. We use about a half dozen different aluminum alloys. Each has their own pros and cons.
@@VPsMethicalCondition-uy4yi I know from rc models 7075 is preferred for a lot of parts because it's quite rigid and seems quite common, so you'd assume good price to performance. I've had some real bendy flexibile parts in other aluminium grades. 🤣
@@VRFlightSimGuy thank you! Can't wait to see my work featured in MSFS '24 especially on the Air Tractor & Twin Otter 😁 and @The.Toaster yeah they vary quite a bit lol. A lot of it has to do with corrosion resistance and whether or not it's heat treatable.
Seems like more of a marketing gimmick to me. Are the properties aircraft manufacturers find desirable in an aluminium alloy the same properties we'd want for a joystick base? I don't know, but I doubt it. Also, the video implies the weight comes from the aluminium encasing, when it doesn't. It comes predominantly from the copper coils inside.
The Flight stick Is basically a cheapr looking carbon copy of the WinWing F-16EX Flight grip! The software has got a long way to go compared to the VPForce Rhino FFB Base. Will be interesting to see how it actually works in a year when it's properly matured

Wow looks amazing. My order incoming 🎉
Nice one. Enjoy and thankyou for watching
I can’t speak for the UK, but delivery time in the US is much faster than what’s stated on their website.
@@edwardwright8127 I ordered direct from Moza(China?) as there was no UK stockest of the AB9. Too late now, but wondering if that was a mistake.
Not sure if they have stock but you can order from Abruzzi in the UK and avoid import duties
@@1wordtroll Sadly a bit late for me, but others may take note.😩
will you be getting access to Pimax Crystal Super? A lot of people saying there's no current hardware capable of powering its amount of pixels
Just for demonstration purposes. Thanks for watching
What would you mount this on, the back of your pickup truck??
Have you done any episodes on the differences between the MS Store version of MSFS and or the Steam version? I did the store version last time and it always seemed kind of a pita.
Steam and MS Store are just distrubution channels, it doesn't matter for VR compositor in use either store version can youse either VR environment/compositor.
However, I personally prefer the store version, but that depends on your own circumstances such as addons etc. Best wishes.
@@VRFlightSimGuy OK, thx. I think Ill buy the Steam version just so MS gets 30% less, lol. I dont hate Steam quite as much as I hate MS, lol.
This one looks awesome i felt sad when my g940 dies in the past.. i just wish they made one stick without the thumb hat as i am left handed i'm pretty sure the stick will cause sore in a long session (as my 940 use to do)
Nice crash there, Steve! 😂
PS: sometimes, the old (tables) things ARE the best.
Lol cheers mate. Currently on the phone to the US Airforce 🫣
Funny that to test it you pick the one fighter jet that doesn't actually have force feedback in the real plane :D.
VRFSG at your service 😅
Could you see if it works with Falcon 4 BMS?
I got it last week and with the trustmaster Viper TQS mission pack (same quality)the F16 is complete,😊😊😊best regards
A lot cheaper than the Brunner. Looks really nice.
Be interested in rudder pedals. £ 1900 for the Brunner😢
Very true! Maybe I should try and get my grubby hands on one next. But I can't imagine it's going to beat the CLS-60. I actually think this AB9 is the best route into proper force feedback for the price.
Hey steve, yes i would love to see this stick in how it reacts to helis.thanks
Hello whats your thinking for hotas warthog ? Have you used it and can compare to this force feedback device ?
I have a constellation alpha-L (left handed grip) that i have to use due to disability, but obviously its a lot to spend to find out the hard way
Yes, virpil and Thrustmaster grips work on this.
@@VRFlightSimGuy I'll be there in Group flight. I promise 🙂
I actually think this AB9 is the best route into proper force feedback for the price.
i need to stop watching your video's! the Pimax crystal arrived last week and now this is on my must have list😍
lol congrats! :)
Just a note guys the flight stick it's self is 4 - 6 weeks wait time
The base is in stock.
You have to have pedals for the ab9 right? It’s doesn’t turn right and left like other HOTAS? Thanks
He doesn't have one, but MOZA offers one on their website (which also operates as extension) for YAW movement
can I plug my Virpil Sticks into it???
Yes. I'm pretty sure I say this more than once. Keep watchin' 👍
@@VRFlightSimGuy Damn it, you convinced me. Just ordered one :D
Does it work with IL-2? That would be necessary for me to consider buying one.
It does via telemetry out of the box but Moza hasn't tuned the unit for it specifically. They say they are going to.
Well, I am torn...do I go for VR or FF? Can't afford both at the same time!!
VR first 👍
Depends on the individual. I can’t get away with VR. And I’ve used it for years.
Can you get access to VR to test for at least 1hr? Personally fidelity and FF in driving/ flying for me.
You managed to get one “throbbing” reference in there
I'm glad you noticed 😂
😂😂😂🦈 what we said in our Discord
Please do heavydogfights in dcs and ils to see if it overheats apparently the other models including the 1200$ brunner do overheat
I can't imagine what the 120 will be like. The 60 already feels plenty powerful! Let me know what you think.
Well I managed to use a DCS profile in IL2, but I've never tried Warthunder.. Yet.
I want one Thanks for the vid
6 months binding controls...and the rest 😀
Haha that means you are well into the video. Appreciate it 😊
I think this could be the one....
I like flying GA airplanes with my joystick plus rudder..
Definitely on my bucket list for Christmas...
🎄 ho ho ho...
🐦 ❤ ✈️
Looking forward to an integration with Authentikit’s Spitfire control column :-) It would be great if they would publish physical and electrical interface info.
hmm I think it was 550Eu recently... now 599
You sound juat like me when I try on new sim tech 😂
😁😁😁
When I got my mosa I have to be honest it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to attach the joystick, I did not even think that you could pull the cable through the bottom and it's not like your first instinct to start pulling things apart on your brand new toys😂 but you do have to pull down that wire and attach it to the base which you'll see the arrow goes to the left and if you just try to stick the stick on and you've never used this type of Hotas, you will be scratching your head because I couldn't find a single video where anyone demoing this showed that. Part of the problem is the connecting wire was perfectly snug in the center of the joystick position as though it was made that way, if the wire was a little bit extended or the diagram in the booklet showed someone pulling that wire out and attaching it then I would have figured it out pretty quickly but I went through 20 RUclips videos not one person showed this
What is aviation grade aluminium? 7075?
I build airplane parts for a living and "aviation grade" isn't a specific alloy. We use about a half dozen different aluminum alloys. Each has their own pros and cons.
@@VPsMethicalCondition-uy4yiYou have a cool job. Just sayin' 😅
Im just waiting to see if it fits nicely on the DOFReality platform. If it does, the trigger will be pulled, literally 😂
😂
A shame they dont use force preasure for F-16..... Should only move like 10 mm in each direction or less
The Flight stick Is basically a cheapr looking carbon copy of the WinWing F-16EX Flight grip! The software has got a long way to go compared to the VPForce Rhino FFB Base. Will be interesting to see how it actually works in a year when it's properly matured
It is out of Aluminium Alloy.
I believe so
Use this with razer freyja for added immersion. It's not cheap sure, but it's part of this expensive hobby 😂
Jesus, you have the 10 grand XR-4? The pros of being an influencer I guess :D. Unless you paid for it yourself then you have my condolences :D. You could buy a house with all of VR headsets if you chucked them on ebay :D.
Just ordered one.
Helicopters say hi.
Send my regards
Just bought mine
Sweet dogo.
So, it’s safe to assume that you like it then? 😂
The stick is a clone of the WinWing Orion 2.
Software looks sus, like the VPforce Telem FFB!!!
❤🦈🦈🦈
What I said to you. It is awesome.
Better late than never 😁
