The biggest problem is Banglore is Property (Housing), Water and Traffic. Unless these are not solved, other cities will be benefited, and top beneficiary would be Hyderabad.

In this Era we skeptically think Bangalore is the monopoly in startups in India but this will be drastically literally there will be an exponential decrease between the differences in graphs and positions. You know the problems that Hyderabad is facing might not be the forever but you know the network of startup is engraved totally and Hyderabad is working hard to demolish these kind of flaws which can make Hyderabad a place of startup Hotspot. And if we think the housing , water and traffic every mega city in India has this problems and it only makes better if we go through all the problems and improve our numbers.

Bengaluru is currently facing the issues which Mumbai faced in 2000s.....back then Mumbai was practically only Megacity of india but due to absurdly high housing cost, biggies dominating the market and difficulty in flow of skilled labor gave room to bangalore to rise as IT-hub. It's also notable that central gov. also tried to push trivendum and later chennai as IT-hub but bangalore surpassed due to better support from gov and ppl for the industry.
Currently hyderabad's gov and public is providing great support to the industry so certainly possible.

One facet missing from this debate is the reason for this gap to exist in the first place. Hyderabad was never far behind Banglore in the 90s in terms of IT, infact Hi-Tech city and Cyberabad were setup precisely for this, what pushed hyderabad back was the 10 years of civil strife for telengana state which essentally froze all growth. And that is over Hyderabad stands up with few clear advantages. The government support system in hyderabad is like no other, secondly banglore i think is reaching a peak of it's potential. thirdly hyderabad is a perfect meeting point for north and south Indians perhaps the last major city where Hindi is spoken comfortably, this could be a huge game changer in attracting talent from the emerging middle class of the hindi heartland

Bangalore in no way is getting saturated as a matter of fact they are new areas that are emerging like the north of the city where the newly inaugurated world class international airport was launched along with an aerotropolis of almost 5000 acres, Kiadb aerospace park of about 4000 acres and many more tech parks and there are already big ticket investments from companies like Boeing, SAP, Applied materials,Shell and the largest iPhone manufacturing plant in the country by Foxconn. As someone who moved from Mumbai (Bombay) to Hyderabad over a decade ago, I have been witness to this city's steady growth. I now proudly call Hyderabad my home and there is no comparison to the way Hyderabad has mushroomed into a world-class city, especially since the state formation a decade ago. The thing which Hyderabad got right was to look at Bengaluru's mistakes and plan ahead. E.g., roads, infrastructure, connectivity with the airport, are some of the key points which Hyderabad thought of first, before widening the doors and welcoming (with open arms), the IT/ITES startups, life sciences and F&B majors. While we can certainly laud the state government, the local municipality and the city planners to having stepped up on their promises, not everything has been accomplished. E.g., water logging woes during monsoons (with maybe 1/4th of the intensity of rains which a city like Mumbai gets), negligence of critical non-IT zones in the city e.g., the old city, the infrastructure there etc. is now slowly getting the focus it deserves. Also, development of sister cities close to Hyderabad, to de-congest the growing population and make local progress is also the need of the hour.

Even in real estate Hyderabad market is number one in India.yes Bangalore is far ahead now but the pace at which the Hyderabad is growing After telangana state agitation issue is incredible. The main game changer is Telangana IT minister KT Ramarao who has a clear vision nd a plan to take Hyderabad forward. Hyderabad infrastructure, cost of living,is far far Better than Bangalore. But in Bangalore the people ecosystem itself has taken the role of developing the Bangalore IT nd start ups.

Hyderabad's ecosystem is very friendly for MNCs and no wonder why Google, Microsoft, Amazon ,etc. have their largest campuses outside of USA in Hyderabad. Bengaluru still has advantages above Hyderabad such as the climate, higher number skilled workforce and more matured startup ecosystem. But Hyderabad is soon catching up. SM Krishna is not that much pro active like CBN. Actually Central government 'Congress' is responsible for the growth of Bangalore. Congress wantedly poured enormous funds into Bangalore in 90's to become an IT hub as Mumbai & Delhi are peeked already with huge population. So Congress wanted to choose a city in South and they selected Bangalore bcz Kannada people doesn't have a Regional parties like Telugu/Tamil people have. So they thought that the political issues will not occur. Also Weather became a plus point to Bangalore. Whereas CBN did much hardwork to make Hyderabad an IT hub even without the support of Congress

Its good if Hyderabad reaches the level of Bengaluru but my personal opinion would be, Bengaluru will be a giant tech hub with better Metro connectivity and projects in progress like Bengaluru Business Corridor, Satellite Town ring road will make it better. Also decentralisation of tech parks/companies which are now mostly situated in Eastern part of Bengaluru which are starting to shift towards North Bengaluru or Towards Airport and Devanahalli. Hope for the best. Every big city will see this phase of congestion during growth and it will soon change.

Even if the party remains in power, the political priorities always change. These days we can see KTR milking the idea of startup hub to the fullest. Bangalore startup hub is driven by the people more than government (anyways they keep changing frequently). Also whether people like it or not, Bangalore is like the melting pot of people from different states, cultures and languages, this diversity helps in running a good startup culture.

@aniruddhavasudeva963 Hyderabad's IT industry is pretty big approximately 60 per cent of Bangalore's It Industry. I know that initially growth rate would be really fast but in a city like Hyderabad where the industry is huge, getting a 50 per cent growth rate is not a joke. Pune received 48 per cent growth in the it industry last year but it's it industry is merely 30- 40 per cent the size of Hyderabad's It industry. In terms of concrete numbers, Hyderabad added more it employees last year than any other City in India. Hyderabad started late compared to other cities so I feel its reasonable to give Hyderabad some more time.

      Bengaluru - somewhere between 17 - 20 per cent

@aniruddhavasudeva963 That's why to avoid this bubble burst. Hyderabad is developing It parks in the comparatively less developed part of the city. Bengaluru may be ahead in terms of concrete numbers but the 'growth percentage ' of Hyderabad is still way more higher and the difference between the cities in terms of It exports decrease. Office space absorption or addition of office space does not always matter for growth. Productivity of an average worker also matters. Productivity of an average employee working in the It sector of Hyderabad is still higher because of the better public transportation facilities and low cost of transportation.

The biggest advantage Bangalore has after the weather is its consumption culture, they have the first 1000 customers for anything that’s why Bangalore came ahead of bombay(the financial capital). In all this chaos tamilnadu is playing a very simple but different game

    >Talent: can they make delivery apps. Don’t know but they have experience in satellite delivery. Point i am making is they have educated talent specially for deep tech.
    >Heavily industrialised and manufacturing ecosystem. All those move away from china helps it. These are serious profit making businesses we are talking about. Apple made 2 plants for manufacturing, both in TN
    >Better infrastructure than any other city in India. Better connected airport and sea port

Qualcomm and Salesforce have their largest tech centres in Hyd. List goes on. UK’s largest startups like Deliveroo and Tide have their offices in Hyd. List goes on. India is developed on the basis of its metro areas. North Delhi, West Mumbai, east Kolkata, south Bangalore and other cities like Chennai and Hyderabad. South Indian cities, the Gdp per nomina rankings would look like this: 1.Bangalore, 2.Chennai, 3.Hyderabad. Even Chennai has a higher GDP per nomina then Hyderabad. If there’s a city that can beat Bangalore it’s Chennai for two major reasons. Every financial capital, be it Mumbai or New York, Hongkong has access to the ocean via ports. Chennai has access to the ocean and has a Formidable port that generates billions in gdp. Tamil Nadu, is a bigger economy then Karnatka, and has higher density, meaning a bigger workforce. Hyderabad will grow and catch up to these cities, but due to infrastructure and startup environment south India as whole has provided and will provide.

Let's take pride in the fact that both these cities belong to India, and we are rightfully proud of it. However, it's important to acknowledge that comparing the two cities solely based on the number of startups or infrastructure they possess might not be wise. The distinct landscape, culture, and people of each city contribute to their unique growth trajectories.
Hyderabad's rapid growth is undoubtedly a positive development for the state and the country. On the other hand, Bengaluru's organic growth, which heavily relies on its people rather than government intervention, has been noteworthy. Nevertheless, if the government aligns with the people and provides better infrastructure similar to what Telangana has done, Bengaluru's growth might reach even higher levels.
Speaking about Hyderabad, I've witnessed the city's remarkable progress and its infrastructure is now comparable to that of many western countries. Additionally, it's worth noting that foreign direct investment (FDI) not just from the USA, but also from the Middle East, Asia, and other BRICS nations will play a vital role in the development and growth of both cities. The process of de-dollarization may open up investment opportunities from diverse sources, further fueling the progress of these urban centers. This positive trajectory will pave the way for self-sustainability without relying solely on FDI in the future.

Instead of competing with any other city outside os the state which would lead to a loss of business for Bangalore...the Karnataka govt. could develop satellite towns around bangalore like doddaballapura, devanahalli, nelamangala, hoskote ,etc.
And if that's not enough...develop other cities like mysore, belgavi, hubbali-dharwad, mangalore, udupi-manipal, kolar, etc.

I think Pankaj won the debate as Hyderabad has a single point of failure which is 'the govt', while Bengaluru to lose the competition there are many factors. With regards to development, both have to go a long way and have their own issues to be addressed. But again infrastructure development depends on the government. So, with regards to ecosystem hyderabad cannot beat bengaluru not even in 20 years if government support is not present. So, may be the discussion point for hyderabad to become a best start up hub in india would be - how can it become more self-sustainable and organic start up hub.

I can see the government here is building new flyovers and roads infra very quickly than Bangalore.
Hyderabad added 32 flyovers in the last 2 years and numerous underpasses. I didn't see Bangalore doing that. And I strongly believe KTR who is the IT minister is much better than Mr.Boseraju! (Who is a mere politician and knows nothing) in attracting the industries here. Hyderabad has the worlda largest Amazon campus and Google campus which KTR played a major role.
