If you have a service animal or pet on the truck, the company has to allow the truck to idle to keep the temperature comfortable for the animal. They don’t give a damn about the driver’s comfort and thus safety.

Was definitely a sceptic on this but figured ill take a shot at it. Yes it 100 percent works. For me i spent a total of 30 dollars for the heater and 1 bungee cord. I bought the 15 inch bungee. Worked good for me. A 12 inch bungee would have been better but they were out. Well worth it

  • @jeffmiller211

Not a bad idea, but I doubt that'll work when it's like 30° outside.. I've been buying hand warmers every week ever since my company made me start driving a POS Freightliner. But even that only works so well, still can't get it to stay idling with that if it's below 40°..
I wish it was easier to come up with something that you could just set on a timer to gently touch your gas pedal every few minutes!!😂

You don’t have to do that.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GO TO THE SETTINGS ON THE DASHBOARD AND GO TO THE MENU WHERE IT SAYS (IDLE) AND SET IT TO THE HIGHEST SETTING. YOU CANT DO JUST A LITTLE, YOU HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY TO 9-10RPMS AND YOUR FREIGHTLINER WILL NEVER SHUT OFF UNTIL YOU SHUT IT OFF. IF YOU TOUCH YOUR BRAKE OR ANYTHING IT WILL DISENGAGE AND YOU’LL HAVE TO REDO IT. I STUMBLED UPON IT AND MY TRUCK RAN FOR MY ENTIRE 10hr RESET.

No idea why people try to go around factory setting. Use your apu! By keeping this truck running in that manner you're stopping the truck from going into a passive regen which in turn builds soot. That will cause you to have to replace 5-10k worth of dpf's. I'm certified in complete dd repairs. Js. Go have the factory setting changed. Allow the system to do what it's supposed to do. It's there for a reason
