Hello! please tell me which program I should choose for training in order to pass the exam and get into the correction academy, and then work in the local prison in the state of Nevada in the city of Las Vegas???
Truck drivers suck
Good to know about the female officers. Im thinking of getting into corrections but ive been wondering how it goes. Judging from your sexist comment, there seems to be resentment towards women. Comments from female CO's indicates they work just as hard and face harrassment from both inmates and male co-workers. Same old story.
Wonder which one I'll turn out to be
They can pay you however they want. There's no requirement for overtime pay as trucking is exempt from US Labor Laws. I just left trucking over a year ago cause it's gotten so bad. And by bad I'm meaning a multitude of things like: extended downtime for services & repairs vs before COVID, expenses like food is preposterous at the truckstops along with good sit-down restaurants being replaced with fast food, and mostly because theres an ongoing issue with the fact there's more trucks out there than there are freight. I left and went into armed security and about to go back corrections even though I told myself I'd never again go back to corrections. Close to 20yrs since the last time I was a corrections officer and I was a trucker of 15yrs.
I'm about to start with the FDC in Ocala, FL. Not fond of going back i to corrections though. Its just the economy is terrible which directly affects my ability to make money in trucking. I left corrections over 16yrs ago for trucking and find myself going back in. My first corrections job was at Georgia State Prison which is maximum security. Responded to a fight in dorm next to mine but was actually a stabbing. Still worked there another 2+ years till i moved to Kentucky and worked at a minimum security facility. Much different there. Didnt have to use force or beak up fights at all there. Oh, and if you work lockdown dorms then expect to eventually have feces and urine thrown on you at some point.
Might need to work on the shot tracer I think
Isn't there anything else to identify yourself with than "crazy" and being an overweight jail guard? You're going nowhere fast.
Brad's "crazy life"? What a dope. Instead of being proud of accomplishments like schools or career, you have a crap job and are proud of the crazy word. Jail guards repeat "actually" a lot. "Uh, um, um, ah you know" displays ignorance. Jails hire anyone with a pulse. It's time to join a gym.
Absolutely. At the company I’m with, if your finger is touching the phone, you are fired! No discussion. You are fired.
And because you're White! That's part of it.
Because highway truckers don't know how to drive
Yes you are correct we need a lot of changes starting with the government. Maybe we all just need to set home for seven days.
Crossing state lines or agriculture
So you ADMIT to Texting while driving ?
Before I traded a driving career in petroleum for a career in a steel mill making more money with a great union, I'd just use that Lytx as a hat rack sometimes. Never counted on any bonus either. If they didn't like it, I knew how to damage the engine, clutch and spin bearings in a transmission as my thank you on the way back to the yard dumping the clutch in 6th gear after coasting up to 40 mph, or shearing the output shaft. I might be the reason they're all automatics now. 😆
You broke the rules& the law deal with the consequences
I hear what you're saying. Cause they will use that against you. You could have a clean DMV record and that doesn't matter anymore.
While I would never drive for a nanny company, to be fair to them, you signed up with them. They have rules/procedures, it's their name on the door, they sign the front of the check.... you do what you're told or face their consequences. Personally, I have 10 years until retirement.... thinking about trading my truck for a forklift in a warehouse. Less pay, but far less risk/responsibility, regular hours with weekends and holidays off, and less stress. With the idiots getting crazier on the road, the FMCSA (actually FMCCA, Federal Motor Carrier COMPLIANCE Administration .... it ain't about safety guys) tightening their grip, and truck stops getting less bearable (closed restaurants, etc), the juice is no longer worth the squeeze.
They gonna like it even more when you piss in a bottle cuz you got no where else to go...smh
By I 40 here. truck stops are ridiculously full. Shower get in line. right side of the road is gone Parking 🤣🤣
❤Totally understand. FJB at his finest
Truck driver jobs were never very good, being away from home all the time for very little pay,NO THANKS.
I don't know if you're a new driver but in my 27 years a driving trucking companies are the worse, they are always looking at new ways to burn the driver. I like driving but hate being a trucker it is a terrible career path. My advice to young new drivers is get out now before you're old and hand cuffed to the worse job you could ever have. There is nothing good about this profession or the people you have to work with.
Why would you work for a company like that
Corporations and the elites are ruining everything.
Not a truck driver but I don’t work for any company that has cameras in the cab. When you hire me you trust me, if you don’t trust me don’t hire me. It’s that simple. I don’t need somebody watching me all day waiting for me to make one mistake.
I got out of trucking after 40 + yrs because of that same shit, don't need a baby sitter and I don't need a truck to apply the brakes for me , got a spotless 20 yr. M.v.r. to prove it.Lots of luck to you drivers out there having to deal with such crap just to put bread on the table.😂
Enjoy not working
@@xephael3485 I work everyday, I’m a plumber. I said I wasn’t a truck driver. I worked for one company that had cameras in the van. Quit first day. Not happening
You were driving and used your phone while driving. 4 seconds at 60mph is 352 feet....far enough for an issue to arrive. Break the law and win dumb prizes...in this case a 500 loss and 4hr class. A+ Now not agreeing with the camera point, but his justification is enough to show that he likely has done this many times. A cop sees that and in my state is a 500 fine to you and the company.
They’ll trim down the labour with these cameras, hoping they’ll have self driving trucks, and eliminate jobs.
I agree 100%
If you get caught using your phone whilst driving a motor vehicle, it's up to the Police to enforce a fine; not the company. They can say "we don't condone the use of phones whilst driving", but the penalty for doing so comes back to the DRIVER, not the company. They have no right to have you on cabin-facing camera, or to take away the bonus. Get a new truck job, Brad, two years plus service with this company is more than enough to get something different... and quickly.
The phone was mounted, if it’s mounted I’m following the rules
Oh well, all the more reason to protest the removal of your bonus or other penalty, I'd be working out a way to claw back any losses if I were you
Don’t text and drive.
Yeah I guess I will not use my GPS or look at traffic or Weather or Turn on my Radio or touch my CB. All take the same amount of time. This isn’t 1950.
did you go on duty for the re education ... probably not , they wont mind that though ...
it okay , they have lots of indians ready to take your seat !!!
and drug testing for legal drugs EH !!
they sent me a video .... running a stop sign in a parking lot at 3 am !!!!!!
Its all about covering themselves and take from you . Its got to the point its not worth it . Also the cameras are on all the time . I have confirmed this .
Stay off yor effing phone
So you were guilty and broke the rules. Then get on the internet to bitch about your job. They should fire you.
So, you are driving THEIR TRUCK and THEY are responsible should you crash or damage the cargo or another person, and YOU are upset that you got caught looking down at your phone texting for "just 4 seconds" (btw .... at 60 MPH you cover 388 feet, more than a football field in just 4 seconds) ?? IMO, you're lucky you only got fined $500 and are lucky you still have a job !! But luckily there is a solution ..... STAY OFF YOUR F**KING PHONE while you are driving !!
Amen Brother.
It's illegal for an employer to put a camera in your office. The cab of the truck is your office. It might be worth looking into, though you may not have any options where you live. We put tape over the lens that records the interior of the truck in BC, and employers can't do anything about it from a legal standpoint. Having said this, I completely understand why companies try to get away with it. Safety is important, especially with a vehicle that size, and the company is heald accountable for things thier drivers do. If they have proof that you didn't follow their rules, they can pass blame on to you. Fines and lost bonuses are a deterrent used to stop employees from doing unsafe things while operating and keep the company out of trouble with authorities. There is a reason for texting or other distractions to be unacceptable while operating a vehicle of any kind. If people didn't constantly disregard the safety of themselves and others, interior cameras wouldn't be necessary in the companies budget. Be safe. Be neighborly. 🇨🇦
Ha ha
The primary goal isn't taking your money. It's avoiding lawsuits. If you did cause a wreck while texting and that's examined in court, the company could be on the hook for a huge payout, so they're using these punishments as a method of preventing that. They have the technology to babysit you now and they use it. This is the world we live in. Change companies or buy your own rig if you don't like it. Sorry you missed out on the $500 and had to come in on Saturday but it's not personal brother.
My company refuses to use the cab facing camera, and refuses to order trucks with a collision mitigation system, he says he don't need him or the truck to babysit the drivers he's hired, if it ever becomes mandatory for a driver facing camera, I'm done with trucking, I'm 60 years old and have been driving for 36 years, I've done it so far without any help and don't need any help from a computer!
Yep.... driver facing cameras OR speed limiters. Remember the other day (it's always just "the other day" for us, right?) when it took 10 miles for one truck to pass another.... 66 mph vs 66¼ mph? Now imagine that ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. What a sh*t show it'll be for everyone on the roadway. There'll be shoulder passers all the freaking time..... and tons more wrecks because of it (the law of unintended consequences). No worries though.... they'll just dream up some other BS to "solve" it, right?
I believe knowing what you drivers go through day in and day out with all the antics of goofball car and pickup driver monkey shines it would be a benefit to have a forward facing camera that shows you didn't cause a collision but a cab facing camera watching you 24/7 is just plain tryannical it's to no benefit but again the best way rather than a camera a voice active hands free phone system should be in all trucks with navigation period instead of a cab facing camera if my truck had that I'd be flippin it off constantly.
100% you fault.
Then get another Fn job !! You dont have to be a truck driver.
You shouldn’t be texting and driving in any vehicle let alone a commercial vehicle weighing 80,000 lbs
I do not drive truck but these company's are Screwing over seasoned drivers and veteran drivers with this camera "Safety" B.S
My company has had these for a couple years now. They're horrible. If I even move my cell phone with my hand the Ai notices it.
If you’re interested in trucking don’t watch these negative videos. Trucking is an awesome career and I love it, I make good money and enjoy the traveling and freedom. There will always be cry babies in every profession.
