I can't believe how they parted off that newly screw-cut shaft, crow bar and big hammer! however these guys do have some great machining skills but haven't they heard of cutting oil/coolant.
Recycling like it should be , When I was a youngster there were thousands of factories and worksites with highly skilled tradesmen and apprentices just like these all over the UK , now you'll be lucky to find anyone, much less an apprentice.

Let's write up this bill. Let's see... 325 kilograms of steel, 365 hours labor, two apprentices, large part handling charge, shop materials, and tool sharpening. That comes to $17.35. This is impressive work. ❤
Ah, the eternal question of what to do with all those shavings! Well, funny you should ask... we actually sell them as avant-garde modern art installations! 😄 But in all seriousness, we're always looking for creative ways to repurpose them. Maybe one day we'll unveil our masterpiece made entirely of metal shavings! Thanks for pondering the mysteries of our workshop with us! 🛠️🎨
Imagine what kind of work these guys could churn out in a clean factory with concrete floors and precision tools not to mention some hearing protection and real shoes.
I always find it kind of repugnant when people assume that just because its old that its not accurate doesn't function well, that if its not computerized and shiny . Why would they be in business if they were producing machined components that didn't meet spec. I see micrometers, machinist rulers, and calipers being used. Just as anywhere else would be used. I have a lot of respect for this team of machinists, hobbers, and workman, in a less than ideal environment. I just wish they still taught this in high schools, instead of focusing on gender, and pronouns. Great job guys, you represent a nearly lost art in the US.
Amazing!! Enjoyed all of the creativity and workmanship. But man, no safety shoes, no safety glasses… but according the age of some workers it appears accidents never occurs? But enjoyed all of it
Well since you asked, yes i could do it. I've been making gears and pinions of that size and much much larger up to 16 feet in diameter for over 30 years. So i can very easily scoff at their system of working. It cracks me up seeing comments proclaiming that these guys are "skilled craftsmen" which couldnt be farther from the truth. Their attention to details like surface finish and damage on the tooth lands and roots, run out, tooth geometry, and case hardening is laughable at best. What they are doing is a 1st year apprentice level skill set.
Ah, the elusive vernier chalk! Unfortunately, it seems to be a bit of a rare find these days. But who knows, maybe it's a hidden gem waiting to be discovered in some old-school hardware store? 🛠️🔍 Keep searching, and if you happen to stumble upon it, let us know!
Thank yoy for filming and posting - - nice to watch ! Sorry to hear from HH comnents that this workshop is winding up. I wouod hope that such workshops would continue and be profitable for management and workers alike. ❤😊😊
I find many videos featuring Pakistani machinists and am always amazed by their skills and saddened by their equipment. thses guys deserve better equipment.they can do wonders with them
We used to do work like that in America. Big AL the working man's pal would chew you out for using high speed steel. Ten pound chip loads. Get her done!!
If they would remove their tops and bottoms, twist them until some of the oil and grease came out and to use it on their machinery instead of using hammers, pry bars, and chisels to make their equipment move easier, amazing
Well, that's one way to lubricate machinery, but we might start a new fashion trend in the process! 😄 In all seriousness, we appreciate the creative suggestion. We're always looking for ways to improve efficiency and ease of operation in our workshop. Thanks for thinking outside the box with us! 🛠️👕👖

I’m curious about two things. What are these roller mills are used for and what is the fuel used in the ovens?
those rollers most probably are going to be used in concrete reinforcement rod making factory and the fuel used is may be HFO/used lube/other oil.
Ótimos profissionais, ótimo trabalho parabéns
What do they do with all the shavings besides pile them up and overfill drums? Amazing

Workmanship is doubtful, the amount of abuse those lathes take is criminal. The simple task of setting the tooling is a hit or miss.
Some people do not understand that a hammer is a precision instrument.
не молоток а микрометр
So is a crescent wrench.
Excellent

Scoff at their system of working if you will, BUT could you do it? They could cut a Learjet out of a solid lump with a blunt chisel and a hammer!
