So glad Ms Parker has her own children.💕
My mom was a Narcissist. I broke that spell/curse when I had my children. In fact, having my own children left me appalled, daily, at how emotionally powerful and cruel my mom had been to my sister and me.
hope Sachi P. finds peace and acceptance and Real Love through her children. 💕

Parents can sometimes inflict their own insecurities and shortcomings onto their own children. Sachi Parker could be unwittingly guilty of this. It's one of the reasons I will never have children unless I can shed myself of those childhood traumas.

A parent is supposed to take care of their children and provide a safe and nurturing environment. And there was definitely emotional and psychological abuse in this particular situation as well.

She need not have expressed any such emotion, but it is a revealing look at a woman with a truly beautiful soul. I'm reading her book now, about halfway through it. It's really a page turner. She's had some life. I don't think she trashes either of her parents; neither were cruel to her. They were really more neglectful of her than anything else -- she came second to her father's mistress, and came second to her mother's career. Both her parents were very WEIRD people. Sachi tries to balance the good times with the bad, while remaining frank about what a mystery both her parents are to her still.

Real human contact... And I woudl say more things but basically that s it.. Not mystery.. The mystery thing is an impresión they the narcissists try to project to cover up their real inner attitude and real lack... Emptiness... That they cover with an image... But its empty inside... Of course sic a parents cannot give what they dont have inside... Living always for a self image... Not nurturing. Mimpoosble to Be nurturing to others... Not even your daughter... A pity...

I have always been a big fan of Shirley MacLaine. She's a a big talent, and a superstar for sure. I'm not as familiar with her husband, and the father of Sachi. I do think that many children of superstars don't have very easy lives growing up especially. Katherine Hepburn used to say she didn't feel that she could do both motherhood and acting career. She felt she had to choose. I will say that Sachi does remind me of her mom. She has that same sparkle about her. Her book sounds interesting and might be a good one for everyone to read. Help us understand ourselves and others better. All families have problems and are not perfect. Her situation was a tough one though. I believe Saachi. As shocking as it is, it doesn't surprise me the Maclaine would be super narcissistic and totally self involved. She never should have had a child, really. It's clear she was no mother to her. Putting a 2 year old on a plane from Japan, without a Nanny, or caregiver, is really neglect. For starters. The father story is weird as well. They both neglected and abused Saachi emotionally. Maclaine, aside from being a super talent, has proven to be rather nuts through the years anyway with the Aliens thing etc. Sure Saachi may have made some money, but she set the record straight. Maclaine is no doubt a talent, Sweet Charity alone, charming! But not one of my favorite actresses actually. Not a great story about her at all. It's rather shameful. I'm surprised Saach turned out as normal as she did. Some people should just not have children.

@@davidyatesmckay I know this is an old comment but you clearly didn't read her book or listen to more than one interview she did about her experience with her parents. Shirley sent Sachi on an airplane to Japan by Herself* when Sachi was literally two or three years old. Sachi was Under Four Years Old* when Shirley stuck her daughter on a plane by herself to Japan to live with Sachi's father. Sachi was then asked in one interview who was watching her on the plane and she just said a stewardess. She was once left at boarding school during a major holiday. Neither parent picked her up even though it was close to Christmas. I doubt you would have done the same with your son while NOT* letting him know that you Won't* pick him up for Christmas. Her own mother said in an interview that she didn't want Anything* to get in the way of her career. Shirley "saw" what it did to her own mother when Shirley's mother seemed to "suppress" her own "creativity"/"life" in order to be a mother and wife. If Shirley thought having kids was an inconvenience, why have one? I think she had one to look "normal" to the majority of her audiance at the time who where married with kids. Her mother didn't at least pay for some or all of her university degree. She's very wealthy and could have done this to help her daughter but didn't. Her father was also very abusive and gave Sachi a nick name when she was a little girl, "The Idiot." He also sexually abused her both physically and brought her to inappropriate adult restuarants where nude or semi-nude male waiters worked etc. He used Shirley for money and never had nearly as much as her. When Sachi became a young adult, Shirley told her that her "real father" was out in orbit, working for the government. She also pushed Sachi to lose her virginity when Sachi was Under Age. When Sachi and her Japanese friend were hanging out together during one holiday while with Shirley, they accidently lost their plane tickets back to Japan (I forgot the rest of the story but it's online somewhere and of course in the book,) and Shirley didn't believe them even though they were either kids or tweens when it happened so she interrogated them in different bedrooms. Her friend was also interviewed on TV and said she was very glad Shirley wasn't her mother.

Groupie fans are the worst, for them the stars are ''heroes'' for a simple ''hello'' to their place and this, no matter how bad they are towards their loved ones! This is completely stupid and superficial!

They only reason I don't buy all this is simply Shirley Maclaine Parents ! Another words her grandparents were around alive and kicking ! They were watching things closely for shirley as well as keeping close contact and an eye on their granddaughter ! She had a close relationship with them . Also. If your read her second book Shirley's patents were very involved on their granddaughter upbringing and thought her second hubby was using her !
Smh . Everyone always willing to believe the worst !
There is also her uncle not out the picture either and this wife and kids ~ her childrens cousins . im not buying all of this . if doesn't make logical since to me.
He grandparents didn't pass away to she was way into adult hood. They were all involved together . Things maybe weren't the same after her grandparents died but she was way into adult hood then .
That's when it suspect things went south but I think she wouldn't get as much sympathy then .
I'm sorry to see sachi go down this negative path of Inshitsu ... Shame !
I think she had supportive family in her foundation .i suspect when he grandparents weren't around the glue that held the family together may have fallen apart for her !

Shirley M had brought beautiful light into this world and I love that about her

You choose your mother and father before you come to earth. We all do to grow our souls. We choose the difficulties in our lives which usually make us stronger. US MOTHERS all do the best we can at the time. Children dont come with a manual. I love Shirley Maclaine. Alway will.

Myriam M I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. Shirley MacLaine could have done better and she chose not to. I love SM as an actress but as a mother? Well, I'll just say I'm so sorry for the hurt that she caused Sachi. You don't send your child to another continent for school and not even show up when school is over! That doesn't require a manual- that's common sense! If you don't know how to be a mother, don't be. I'm honestly horrified that anyone would make excuses for neglecting children. That is a form of abuse.

This is ridiculous. What is the point of this? This is a really perverted way to be in control to hurt her famous parents in public. Some things need to be resolved within the family and stay there.

    • @Muirmaiden
      @Muirmaiden 5 лет назад +8

Deborah Hoffman, "resolved within the family", since Shirley MacLaine denies everything and neglected her daughter, how could it be "resolved"? Narcissists do not admit wrongdoing. This happens to many people and it is a serious issue. Talking about it spreads awareness and gives insight to similar situations. But hey, I guess abuse and neglect should be kept private so you can keep worshiping your Hollywood icons.

Basically a woman who doesn't sacrifice her life for her child/children is vilified as evil. The father of course escapes the criticism because he's a man. These are not regular lives, these parents were exposed to everything and a Swiss finishing school - this means she was ultra privileged and this is how to ultra rich live. Then the daughter went on to act herself!

there is no such thing as a perfect mum. there is always a crazy story to tell about one's parents. I would never expect Shirley to have been one hundred percent perfect, either as a human being or as a mum, but she did grow. We have seen her develop on her journey, in a spiritual and human sense. show me a perfect mum who does everything right by their son or daughter and doesnt leave them traumatised or with emotional/psychological damage... even animals reject their young because they are not experienced - I saw it in my cat, the first time she had kittens. AND, circumstances for Shirley and Sachi's father must have made it hard to be typical parents especially in the old days. life was not so politically correct and I bet Shirley still gave Sachi some really fun times. People need to get their wonder brooms out their arses and accept that we are allowed to make mistakes and be true to our spirits. Shirley was and is a very free spirit, she doesnt play by all the rules and maybe was naive at times like we all can be. perhaps Sachi just needs to learn from her that you mustnt strive to be a perfect parent, and just be yourself with your child, make sure they don't get killed or kidnapped and you've done your job. the worst thing sometimes for a child is a parent who is overly smothering and never gives them any room to grow and live their life their way. whats also worse is a parent who worries all the time. i dont think shirley was much of a worrier or a neurotic person. she loved life and had a passion for being a creator and making people laugh and smile. you cant ask for more than that from a parent. clearly she was giving in other ways so you can't call her a "narcissist". she just wasnt conventional thats all. not only that, shirley knew all about free and unconditional love, and it took her daughter tens of years to learn how to love? i think maybe sachi just missed the ball there... Shirley was a very wise person, an old soul, and clearly more detached than Sachi could get her head around. detachment is not a sign of neglect, though. some mothers can be waaay too possessive and Shirley didn't have a possessive bone in her body. Sachi has expressed her point of view. She is not giving the overall truth because she is not showing more than one side of the story.

    • @Muirmaiden
      @Muirmaiden 4 года назад +8

You missed the point. It's not about being a perfect parent, it is about being a decent and good parent. Everyone makes mistakes, but the parents who recognize this, make changes, take responsibility and are willing to work on their relationships with their children are the ones who typically are able to achieve healthy relationships with their children. Narcissistic parents like Shirley MacLaine and Steve Parker, however, will not apologize, take responsibility or show empathy for their children. You can heal, but you can't forget, and you can't get what you deserved to have - unconditional love.

Whaaat? Wikip.sais Sachi is supposed to be an actress ... - neverever!! ↓↓
""... and makes me FEEL very HAPPY, - and STRONG!""
Well, I'm buying none of it!!
(She needs to write a book first, before being able to love her child, who at that point is already 14years old! .... - no comment.
It can't have been easy to have a superstar as a mother. But somehow I get the impression, that having Sachi as daughter was ... probably a disappointment to Shirley. If they didn't look so similar, she would probably have suspected, that her child was accidentally exchanged at the hospital.
Hat learning experience caused her to have suche a wimp of a daughter. (No wonder her daß called her idiot).
Anyways, in this short video Sachi has lied a few times, and she doesn't seem to care how obvious that was.
She comes across like quite a manipulative person.
Most of the book seems like fiction.
( Even in Shirley's journal books [i.e.The Camino] contain ficticious parts).
Now, whom would you prefer as your mother: Sachi Parker or Shirley Maclaine? ...
    Certainly not Sachi!
