Just got one,I found a old beer can an aluminum rod and an iron nut and 2 nails in my moms lawn 170 year old farm house, lots of beeps but I didn't want to dig up her whole front lawn.
Found a civil war set of nail clippers and ancient native American hex head metric bolt and a piece of an alien spaceship known as a Ford explorer on the first day . Loved it
One rookie move you made, no offence intended was, after you removed that chunk of iron, set it well to the side, and check the area in 10 foot radious. Such large deposits will hide other signals otherwise hidden. Thanks, that was fun to watch.
though I had some problem with sea water It also ruclips.net/user/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
Hey my friend..been awhile. Good to see you! Been a digger for quite a while and glad to see younger people in the hobby!! I have an Ace 250 and found alot of coins. Mostly where I go Ive reaseached the area and Im certain to find older coins. Local history is everything! Great video!!
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel check your local Chamber of Commerce and ask where the old fairs and carnivals used to be held, even church social garherings. Actually anywhere people gathered..they always dropped things. In this hobby..the mind is the limit..great hunting, my friend!
You should have talked about the little handheld detector that you use after you have dug something up .And watching the end of your video with that large metal thing that you dug up, good thing you're not in Europe could have been a landmine ,LOL just kidding Happy Hunting.
Never really had any serious interest in metal detecting, but I see this thing only weighs 2.8 pounds. Lots of good reviews. You’ve peaked my interest a little. I’m due for a new hobby.
its fun, man. I love it. i have yet to go alone yet, but just me and my daughter out there having a good time. Got about 5 short outing with it. Ill have a full review of this one once i get more experience under my belt, but right up front, its great!
Enjoyed the video, I just purchased the Ace 300 for the wife. Maybe you can find enough change to buy your daughter a new pair of jeans. ( just kidding with you ) Thanks again for the information.
How do you get the search coil to stay level and fixed? I have a brand new Ace 300 and that oval coil is really loose and moves up and down like a seesaw.
I'm viewing this video 1year after you created it. I see no follow up about how that ace300 is working out for ya. Is it wroth the price? Care to share any pros & cons?
It is definitely worth it! Its a simple, and easy to use unit that is made by a reputable company. Its still pulling coins from the ground to this day. I simply havnt had time to create a follow up on it. its light weight, easy to navigate the options, works very well. I dont have many cons about it, but i would appreciate it to not be playschool yellow.
Most definitely! This one goes with my daughter when we metal detect, she really enjoys it. The fact that it’s not overly complicated and very effective makes it a joy to use.
this is most helpful, my son collects rocks and minerals and is now also interested in metal detecting, I am going to buy him one for his 21st birthday next month I just need to decide which Garret Model

I just purchased an ACE 300. Can't wait to try it out. In my old home where I grow up.
You Might find some old possessions!

thanks, Ken. Are you referring to the meteorite looking chunk of iron at the end of the video ?

The small thing is a pin pointer
Yes I kn just thought you could tell other people that didn't know
Im thinking about getting into metal detecting thanks for this video!
So did you ever begin?
Admit it Ryan, you're out there hunting for brass! Hehehe...
Meteorites contain Nickle and some people offer you hundreds to thousands of dollars for small pieces found.
Now that would be really cool!

DID you go back and get that piece of float Copper ? That Metal... Recently Aquired the 300. Thx for the Run Down.
Sounds like a good hunt to go on as like a box of chocolates as you never know what you are going to get....Good stuff....
haha right on Scott!

Suggestion… get a squirt bottle! 👍🏻
I'm stuck between getting this one or a Nokta Makro Simplex
I have no experience with that one. But this unit works well.
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel thanks
💥Would this detect something 2 feet down?

It shouldnt move so easily. Maybe you installed the hardware wrong ?
Get you a rubber washer at any hardware store put it between the inside post too tighten it up. Don't put it outside your screw it doesn't help!!

@@theandybchannel.1819 no worries! I think you will enjoy it!
will it pick up gold or any type of gold in quartz rocks?
I have yet to try, but i assume it will energize and pick up the signal from the gold in the rocks?
Yes it reads gold just fine!
Minerals I recommend
Mine lab or whites non sweep.
this is most helpful, my son collects rocks and minerals and is now also interested in metal detecting, I am going to buy him one for his 21st birthday next month I just need to decide which Garret Model
or maybe a Mine lab one?
What's the difference with this and the 250?
50. But seriously, more settings for separation, etc...
How many feet deep can it detect??
It varies with soil type and moisture in the ground, but typically 8-10 inches max
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel, I need a machine that detects 5 to 6 feet deep. Can you tell me the name of such a machine. It would be very helpful
Whats diff between 300 and 300i?
I think ‘i” was the model designation for “International” models for sale outside of the USA..
What shovel is that you are using?
some crappy shovel that i didnt make a review on for a good reason. You may have seen it on amazon.
