Thanks for the upload Tony. There can never be enough info about how to improvise over this tune.
Agreed
I've been playing for several years and there's still so much to learn.. you inspire me to watch and learn from you.. it's making me a better musican.musician.. thank you
This is good. Even for someone like me who’s new to jazz. Your tutorials are really easy to understand approach…esp when you mention restrict your line,, stick to the major scale,,, this is great way to practice licks.
i deeply appreciate you honestly and openly working on things that you want to improve on. Thank you
Great stuff very helpful !
Glad it was helpful!
A great tutorial … thanks !!
Thank you so much for your videos. I have had a hard time finding a teacher as teachers are very expensive. It feels like you are my teacher, except I don't pay you haha. Really thank you so much though, I am having so much fun harmonizing these standards to my own tastes.
Thanks Tony, another great lesson and plenty to work on.
Love it Tony, thank you!
i really like the way you play, think and teach
Love your playing.
Besides the interesting things you present about the tune and practicing - this morning the tone of your piano and the excellent quality of your recordings jumped out at me. (There are so many poirly recorded videos on youtube… and terribly out of tune pianos) I’d be interested to know what brand and model grand piano you’re playing - and how you record it. Thank You so much for your videos. 😎👊🏽❤️
Thanks Tim. I use a Tascam D40. The piano is a Yamaha G 5 from 1980. I tune it myself.
@@TonyWinston Tony - it sounds great and it attracted me to your videos….nicely recorded. Thank you so much for your knowledge …. Videos … (there are SOOOOO many … and like yours - there are a few which are cery relatable …. And somewhat easy to pursue ….
brilliant
Nice tutorial for a great tune.👍
Revelations - again
Thank you
Hi Tony ! Can you please make a video of ojos de rojo by Cedar Walton. It's interesting jazz peace, but on RUclips there aren't any videos of it . Thank you , I am inspired by your work
I wasn’t gonna click on the video but then I saw the clip art of the guy walking in the thumbnail so I clicked
What abou: In a 16th feel: Bmaj7 D7#9b13(using upper structure Bb: oscar/Donna lee lick lick) Gmaj7 Bb7 #9 b13 Ebmaj7 F#7*9 b13 Ebm7 F7alt Bb7 alt Ebmaj7 A7alt D7 alt Gmaj7 C#7 alt F#7 alt Bmaj7 etc using all the time the oscar Peterson-Donna lee Lick over all the altered dominants...
Thanks a lot , wonderful lesson.... ( a guitar player...)
love your videos, a diminished scale is the first 4 notes of 2 minor scales. a tritone apart? FGAb Bb. B C# D E Is this correct?
That's another way to look at it. Good observation

Hi Tony, is there a way to take private online jazz piano lessons with you? I looked on your website but couldn’t find that.
Thanks
At this time I'm not doing any private lessons. Thanks for asking
brillant!
Hey Mr Tony it’s Usifo Barnabas I lost access to My old account but I’m back now I’m glad to fine you I had your name on the box voicing sheet you taught me❤❤❤
Can someone refresh my memory on which diminished scales correspond to each dominant chord? Is it the half whole to get the flat 9?
Start with 1/2 step. Think of it this way. Root, flat 9, Sharp nine, third, flat five
❤❤🎉😊
Imagine Oscar Peterson teaching improvising
