...impressive on-the-spot review of standards in E...and,...it's so helpful to hear how your mind works as you're trying to figure things out while also being able to watch your hands...big thanks...

Regarding the Barry Harris thing at 2:30, I'm not sure if he named it but it's an inner line created by (double) enclosing a target chord tone with the diminished note above (from his sixth diminished chord scale concept) and a half-step approach from below.

I had a listen to Jamey Aebersold, very cool. (I never heard of this guy before over here in the UK!) I like his tip that you whistle or sing an improv riff and then transfer to and learn your own riff on the piano. Adds up with my theory of making up silly vocal lines to get a melody.

Nice improvising, Tony! Looks like that Barry Harris thing is passing notes between chords. Or at least that's the "classical" way of putting it.

That Barry Harris movement you referenced sounded familiar. Don't know what you call it. I recalled hearing the same on the intro to a Mildred Bailey recording. Found it on Prisoner of Love (1939). I think the liner notes credit Mary Lou Williams on piano, if I am reading them correctly. Thanks for your jazz instructions!

A while ago you did a versino of Mama Cass's 'Dream a little Dream...', is they any chance you could do something similar for Nora Jones 'Don't know why...'?
It's not too hard, but the voicings are very specific!
    Mny thks

Hello Mr. Winston, I reside in Cobb County and was wondering if you offer private lessons? I currently work as a psychologist, but have worked in the country music industry as a pianist. I started learning jazz approximately 4 years ago and have found your channel to be one of the best! I can private message you my contact information. Thanks, Charles McFall
