That's why people who look so much like the sigmund corp's other workers (you can see them in 2:41 in the previous trailer as neil helps who i assume is eva out of the car, and in this trailer at the marriage scene) are there, bc they were the easiest people to recreate in the simulation as Neil sees them a lot in the workplace and probably has access to their personnel files. When Eva says "Neil WHAT?!" she was probably told that he plugged himself into the machine as both the patient and the admin and now they don't know how to get him out of it without killing him. So Eva is given the task: get him out. The reason why Neil took the risk might be bc he knows he'll die either way bc of some unrelated illness or the damage he already did to himself through the machine in previous tests, and he considers the whole thing his chance to maybe develop technology that would allow patients to grant their own wishes or smth along those lines (that's why he was so excited about Faye) And Neil did it all in a crime solving murder-mystery thriller fashion... bc well, its Neil. The image of the girl in the red dress looking up at the sky as a child... reminds me of when Neil tells us his grandfather used to take him stargazing. It wouldn't surprise me if memories that were dear to Neil resurfaced somewhat in a game powered by his brain, even if in a modified, dream-like version (Eva mentioning Neil's weird dream's after she has one herself... yeah, that sells it to me even more. Neil's brain sounds like something that would make up a half logical murder apocalypse mystery, that would be put into action and simulated because Neil removed the machines filters/safety mechanisms. especially if at the point in which Neil plugged himself into the machine he wasn't at his deathbed yet). (Wild guesses -->) Neil also mentions having a bad relationship with his parents at some point, though he says that it's his fault, not theirs. Maybe the mansion is based off of his family home or something, and one of his major regrets is something that happened between him and his parents. Maybe the person in the red dress is even his mother. Or she's just the "game master" (Faye). Those are all just wild guesses though. Oh, also, just something that would make me cry if it happened in the game - I think that if we are to be travelling through dying Neil's memories in this game (and maybe in the previous two.. but that's a different discussion)... Something really heartbreaking to see would be real Eva getting rid of her memory self, and jumping into memories full-interaction-mode instead, in order to be able to relive her times with Neil one last time and say goodbye to him this way. " This is a theory mostly based on the previous trailer^, but I will surely be giving it way more thought now to see if I can come up with something new. If you've read the entire thing - thanks! EDIT 16.09.20: Atm i'm considering a theory where IF's main character is Neil's family member, for example his sister. Her adult version looks a lot like some of Faye's sprites (especially considering the two share the green eyes), but IF's MC also shares the hair color and green eyes with Neil, and I feel like Faye might be a little bit too obvious...? Like it's a trap. I feel like the sister theory would also fit with the fact that Neil is said to have some family drama, and the reason he's messing with the machine so much might be because he knows it will one day be used on his dying sister, which would be the main plot of the game. Also, if Neil's sister is dying, and he is dying too (since we see him taking meds nd stuff), that would make sense bc, yknow, genetics. This whole thing is a big stretch though, the two might not be related at all. I also think that this theory has some obvious flaws... It's fun to make theories though, so I'm gonna continue doing that. I'm so excited for the final game and for the truth to be revealed :)
Dang that's a good theory...A GAME THEORY (sorry I had to lol). This definitely does seem like 2 different worlds (the lines "your mistake will end THIS world" and "a wholesome celebration of the end of A world" not THE world, plus the last heart monitor splits in 2, also the wedding scene shows a shadow creeping across then right after we see the sig corp building with the same shadow). Another thing I remembered while playing TTM, if you go to talk to the fortune teller when Johnny leaves, Neil says he's not talking to him/ her because he's screwed good or bad. 🤔 Edit: also notice there's no timeline of the patient's life like in TTM or FP.
Ok so mild theory - considering the beginning going from flatline to beat, everybody makes mistakes and the name... Is this about someone getting the sigmund treatment but surviving?
@@christiant.g.994 oh absolutely! It's certainly an unforeseen consiquence, but one that statistically has to happen some time. Perhaps that might explain all the absurd imagery?
A really interesting idea! In actual medicine, that weird squiggly rhythm that we end up with is "shockable", meaning there's a meaningful chance of converting that heart rhythm to normal
The flatline to beating heart happened in the previous two games trailers. A sorta restarting your life again or a second chance at life but only through memory
After playing the game I was so jebaited by neil and eva's wedding but of course in the game's true fashion, I cried so much and enjoyed every bit of it :D
Damn! Ok some things I noticed: It starts off with (what sounds like to me) the TTM menu theme 0:11 - Moves to the FP trailer music (so it seems there is music from both games maybe) Edit: I may be going crazy but this could also sound like the track "What You're Up To" or "The Fiction We Tell Ourselves", both from the FP ost 0:19 - it's a bit hard to see, but as the monitor line fades, you can see it splits off in 2 (OK WTF!!!) 0:56 - of course the doctor's theme is heard 0:59 - Something about the following phrase of music sounds familiar, like it's from a previous game (will update if it comes to me, or if someone can help figure it out) Edit: Courtesy of Tea Blobs reply it sounds like the recent track Kan put out, "A Reality Without Me" 1:02 - I just have to add Neil's and Eva's wedding (is it real though?) 1:49 - Something that's interesting is after some dissonance it does sound like the music ends on a tonic (or at least a 'pleasant' sounding cadence. Still learning music theory lol) Other things that come to mind: the instruments that are more prominent (kinda like the solo instruments) are piano and guitar. What is going on with Neil's phone call from Sig minisode 2 (I think). Why was Eva using the machine in Sig minisode 2, what's the deal with Neil tampering with the machine. Also, the last IF trailer showed TTM Episode 1, FP Episode 2, then a ... and finally IF Episode X. So I have a feeling that while this game comes out next, it's not in chronological order. I speculate that while each game has it's own story arch, there's the larger story arch of the doctors in the background. And each separate game is like a memory of the doctor's arch. And like how in each game there was "that moment" where everything clicked, likewise, we'll get that game where everything clicks about the doctors. Which will be somewhere between FP and IF. Edit: I just realized, there was no timeline like there was in TTM or FP trailers (where we see the timelines of Johnny and Colin). Also remember in TTM, if you go to talk to the fortune teller, Neil says he's not talking to them because he's screwed good or bad.
The music phrase in 0:59 come from IF itself ("Reality without Me"). Starting from 0:56, the trailer has the part beginning at 1:14 of that song as well as the phrase you noticed. (The phrase that appears before is also a slower version of "Best Detectives in the World"). Good catch though, I had to jump around so many songs to find where that part was from.
Branden Brebric the monitor line at 0:19 must have something to do with eva and neil using the damn machine in the minisodes. Who the heck knows why though.
*Few key things I noticed during the trailer:* --it starts out with a flatline, then goes to a weak heartbeat, then several - the exact opposite situation --at the last heartbeat before the transition, it splits into two separate lines --'your mistake will end this world' does not seem to be referring to just the patient as --an ominous shadow falls over Sigmund, indicating this may also be the end of Sigmund Corp as a company, a mistake that cannot be overlooked by the government that forces them to shut down --the ominous shadow also overtakes the 'wedding' between Neil and Eva; while this very likely a sequence in the machine rather than reality, it also seems to indicate that one of them (either Neil or Eva) will be removed from this dream of their theirs and be forced to face reality --'end of a world', not 'end of THE world', likely indicating both the end of the era of Sigmund Corp, as well as the death of a character, likely the patients or even perhaps Neil --all trailers so far has not shown the patient as an old person, which seems to imply that the person is relatively young while asking for Sigmund Corp's services, which may also mean one of the following: --either the patient is dying at a young age, or simply feels unfulfilled despite being so young, the latter being a callback to Sigmund Corp making patients instead of being found by them; basically making a marketing campaign of telling people that their current lives will always be unfulfilling

I imagine it has something to do with Faye. That he is running a test using her powers from the snapshot he made in Finding Paradise and this story of this game is that test.
@@CCFQuelex Could be that as well indeed! That would definitely explain the tentacles and world ending thing... And perhaps Neil added some dreams of his own into the simulation that may make it go rampant in the end... because the marry scene is definitely not real.
Neil does have a knack for the extreme (kamahamaHADOUKEN!! LMAO). One thing I did remember is that phone call Neil made in the Sigmund minisode (I think #2) where he called someone but didn't say anything. And when the person on the other like asked "Neil is that you?" he hung up. 🤔🤔

And in the finding paradise trailer you can see portraits of colin with one light on each end going to the middle (clearly foreshadowing what happens in the FP). However in this trailer there aren't any portraits. The closest thing to the portraits is at 1:20. So i propose the idea that eva and neil will start at the patients childhood.

This is a theory mostly based on the previous trailer^, but I will surely be giving it way more thought now to see if I can come up with something new.
Great theory!
AhhhHhHHHh
Damn that's actually really good
Dang that's a good theory...A GAME THEORY (sorry I had to lol).
Edit: also notice there's no timeline of the patient's life like in TTM or FP.
this is well thought out! I enjoyed reading
“Something weird is coming”
Man, *it sure is.*
Everyone is talking about the trailer while I'm here just surprised to see Rob at Neils wedding
Yes! Gimme a high five!
I'm surprise about the wedding in general O.o
that wedding has to be some fake out, theres no way hed just stick that in the trailer right?
right?
@@TheEnglishQuail Yea probably. Also i would have expected from him a anime or movie reference somewhere in his wedding.
@@tabs.travels *high five*

"Wishlist on Steam".
Jokes on you, already did it ages ago.
This has to be metaphorical, or at least in someone's brain. I just can't see Sigmund Corp. having world ending stakes.
I mean Neil DID rig Faye from Colin's brain using his new stupid tech so yeah I wouldn't be surprised
infinitely recursing metaphor
I don’t know what’s real or what’s fake anymore TT
@@talison7123 We can only wait for this new game to have the answers...
Definitely. It's the end of *a* world, not *the* world.
Ok so mild theory - considering the beginning going from flatline to beat, everybody makes mistakes and the name... Is this about someone getting the sigmund treatment but surviving?
Cool idea! Probably wouldn't be mentally sane afterwards.
Happens at the start of every game I thought to represent the second chance the treatment gives the patience
The flatline to beating heart happened in the previous two games trailers. A sorta restarting your life again or a second chance at life but only through memory
After playing the game I was so jebaited by neil and eva's wedding but of course in the game's true fashion, I cried so much and enjoyed every bit of it :D
I noticed Laura Shigihara wasn’t featured, hopefully, she does return! Love her voice!
I hope Goldenboy who sang, "Every Single Memory" gets featured again. His rendition for Finding Paradise is extremely underrated.
Her sound wasn't suited for a horror theme so maybe Kan would sing this time hahaha
sadly she didn't return. her absence is really noticeable this time
Damn! Ok some things I noticed:
It starts off with (what sounds like to me) the TTM menu theme
0:11 - Moves to the FP trailer music (so it seems there is music from both games maybe) Edit: I may be going crazy but this could also sound like the track "What You're Up To" or "The Fiction We Tell Ourselves", both from the FP ost
0:19 - it's a bit hard to see, but as the monitor line fades, you can see it splits off in 2 (OK WTF!!!)
0:56 - of course the doctor's theme is heard
0:59 - Something about the following phrase of music sounds familiar, like it's from a previous game (will update if it comes to me, or if someone can help figure it out) Edit: Courtesy of Tea Blobs reply it sounds like the recent track Kan put out, "A Reality Without Me"
1:02 - I just have to add Neil's and Eva's wedding (is it real though?)
1:49 - Something that's interesting is after some dissonance it does sound like the music ends on a tonic (or at least a 'pleasant' sounding cadence. Still learning music theory lol)
Other things that come to mind: the instruments that are more prominent (kinda like the solo instruments) are piano and guitar.
Edit:
I just realized, there was no timeline like there was in TTM or FP trailers (where we see the timelines of Johnny and Colin).
@@teablobs1648 Shoot I think you're right, that's why it sounded so familiar. Thanks for the help!
Branden Brebric the monitor line at 0:19 must have something to do with eva and neil using the damn machine in the minisodes. Who the heck knows why though.
HERE WE GOOOO
Get your tissues ready! Here's another masterpiece incoming
If i'm crying watching the trailer, i can't imagine how much i'll cry playing the game
The beginning of the trailer starts off with To The Moon’s theme, then goes to Finding Paradise’s... interesting
Knowing kan, eva and neil getting together must be a joke
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WHERE'S THE LIFE Bar?! Who's memories are we traversing?!?!?!
I think they’re gonna build time machine
fFSSSS
*Few key things I noticed during the trailer:*
--it starts out with a flatline, then goes to a weak heartbeat, then several - the exact opposite situation
--at the last heartbeat before the transition, it splits into two separate lines
--'your mistake will end this world' does not seem to be referring to just the patient as
--an ominous shadow falls over Sigmund, indicating this may also be the end of Sigmund Corp as a company, a mistake that cannot be overlooked by the government that forces them to shut down
--the ominous shadow also overtakes the 'wedding' between Neil and Eva; while this very likely a sequence in the machine rather than reality, it also seems to indicate that one of them (either Neil or Eva) will be removed from this dream of their theirs and be forced to face reality
--'end of a world', not 'end of THE world', likely indicating both the end of the era of Sigmund Corp, as well as the death of a character, likely the patients or even perhaps Neil
--all trailers so far has not shown the patient as an old person, which seems to imply that the person is relatively young while asking for Sigmund Corp's services, which may also mean one of the following:
--either the patient is dying at a young age, or simply feels unfulfilled despite being so young, the latter being a callback to Sigmund Corp making patients instead of being found by them; basically making a marketing campaign of telling people that their current lives will always be unfulfilling

I haven't cried at a trailer since finding paradise, and now that record is broken today. I cannot even begin to express how deeply emotional and moving these games are, and I'm so happy I get the chance to play another. Thank you Mister Gao, I look forward to another journey thru ur teams games
THE EVA AND NEIL MARRY SCENE IS MAKING ME ANXIOUS; ARE WE VISITING NEIL'S MIND??? THIS IN COMBINATION WITH THE HEARTBEAT MONITOR.... I HAVE _ONE FEAR_
...this entire trailer gave me chills though... damn
Edit; maybe this woman is related to Neil??? Same eyes and similar hair... but this may just me tryin to find out how to connect Neil's plotthread into the overall plot
@@BrandenBrick Yeah! He is such a dork haha
Oh! That's right... That was suspicious indeed and may tie in with ttm3...
Another weird minisode thing, now you say that, was Eva spotting herself which made her turn the car around to go back for Neil anyway...
@@Moonimations. haha that's why I love Neil.
Shoot that's right I forgot Eva saw herself. That's why I'm wondering if that whole minisode (or even every game) was just in one of the doctor's memories.
Edit: also don't forget when Neil checked who turned the power off in that minisode it said "Neil Watts" 🤔🤔
- Wait its all for Neil and Eva wedding?
- Always has been
My first theory from what I'm seeing there is that the customer this time is a psycho and wished for memories of seeing the world being destroyed.
You know what?
You are probably right, looking back at the photos we have from this game, there are lots of dark and weird things, and in good part of them, this red dress lady is in them somehow
@@justarandomguy4873 Is the red dress lady has already appear in the padt game before...?
This is such a funny little trailer, isn't it.... Thank you for yet another beautiful game Kan Gao. I was deeply moved multiple times and I am forever grateful. I don't get to experience this catharsis very often. Keep up the stellar work!
I love how strong the impact of every music in your works, who would've thought that mere pixels can make tears, looking forward to this!
Back from the game. That was amazing! Thank you, Kan, and the whole Freebird gang! So many emotions, I'm lost for words
Who’s ready to cut onions again?
Better stock up, I'll be cutting onions for a couple hours!
The question is will it be a roller coaster like To the Moon, or will it hit you all at once like a freight train like Finding Paradise.
@@RicoLen1
It was a rollercoaster in both games for me. I cried more in FP than I did TTM in a shorter period of time.
"How many layers of feels are you on right now?": The Game
Can't wait for this!
Ok so the heartbeat at the beginning splits in two, I think we are getting an IF chapter here. No complaints.
Oh wow, good catch!
I mean considering the initials for the game Imposter Factory is IF I would be more surprised if there wasn’t!
Seeing Eva and Neil getting married made me burst into tears immediately. I honestly love the stories of these games, so I've very excited to see this one.
That melody at 0:59 already made me cry.

I'm still waiting for the moment when you decide to make a movie, it would be wonderful.
A To the Moon animated movie is actually supposedly in the works!

This trilogy is often mentioned in my “top 5 favorite games” discussions i have with my friends. I am unbelievably excited.
YEEEEAH TIME TO BREAK MY HEART
I love how this trailer is released exactly 9 years after first "To the Moon" trailer, and also rhymes with it!

The sound are amazing, the story are very emotional, is all perfect game, you are a great video game developer, i will support your game forever.
This trailer is a very emotional bomb
From Italy 🇮🇹
So excited. Really the only thing I've been excited for a in a long time.
The music in this is already so nostalgic, since you use some familiar motifs from other games.
I am ready. My tissues are ready. I will hydrate in advance for optimal survivability of tears. I can't wait!!!!!!
That nostalgic intro sent emotional goosebumps on my hands.
and THAT ending! Love the great work, Kan. Respect your consistency. Keep it real.
Are those my two favorite scientists finally getting married!? :D
And is that motherloving *Cthulhu consuming the planet?* D:
Damnit, Kan Gao.
i’m not ready to cry again
A *WHOLESOME CELEBRATION* of a *BLOODY END OF NEIL'S WORLD* more like... My heart isn't ready for this.
I would say this trailer is one of the best trailers for any game.
Suspense, horror, murder, puzzle, nostalgia, etc.(End of thinking capacity).
The best thing you do is add the character's childhood version too which makes me feel about my childhood as well as about my future life and the end moments of my life.
Your works have motivated me more for my novel. Thanks for all your games cause I am gonna make them references for my novel too!
Sus pense??????????? 😳
Good stuff! Any news about the animated movie ?

Can't wait to see PewDiePie inevitably play this and cry
I've listened/watched the trailer, like, 50 times, and I realise that you couldn't of done it any better. This is an absolute masterpiece, and the game isn't even out!
This game destroyed me, emotionally.
Kan Gao, congrats on making such an amazing game......
Shut up and take my preorder!
IMPOSTOR FACTORY IS GETTING RELEASED ON SEPT 30TH WOOHOO
these series are the only few games that I bought without waiting for sales/discount, because it's just one of the best story telling game that I have ever played, truly worth the full-price
(Minor spoilers) I've noticed that near the end of the moon trailer there are portraits of johnny with a light moving from the right to the left.
I guess I might of been a little off
You just love to make the whole world cry, don't you? Can't wait for it.
Don't tell me, that it's end of story of two best detectives?
The heart beat gradually becomes more rectangular and the last one split into two. I wonder what that implies. Can't wait for the release.
YES! So hyped for this! You make me cry like a baby but... I love it 😊
This is one series of games I will ALWAYS play through myself before watching anyone else's playthrough.
in their wedding suddenly the sky become dark same as at sigmud corp, maybe it when the word end?
I’m beyond excited to play this!!!! Literally teared up when the notification popped up on my screen!
The notification that I've waited for like years!
God i cant wait to hear the music in this game. Im a huge sucker for piano music and have looped so many of the tracks from the first 2 games so many times.
So many years in this fandom and i finally get a wedding, screw 2020 this is Kan Gao year
the jellyfish on the trees are an adorable detail
I hate that I cannot trust a single part of this trailer because of you Kan.
but I'm so ready to get fucked up all over again
End of the world, what a perfect 2020 time
I'm not ready, emotionally. But I still want to play it asap ^^
YES YES YES YES YES. I am so prepared to be unprepared for the feels from this! Please Kan, bless us!
1:22 Wow, that scene looks beautiful! Maybe it's all in her head? I mean, some of those scenes look like memories but how can they be memories if the world "ended"?
