Holly shit i can't believe it.
That's the first ambient black metal reaction i've seen on youtube outside of the BM youtube
I really appreciate you doing this for us in the extreme metal corner. I know you got a long reach so it's pretty cool that more people are experiencing this journey with you.

It is songs like this that reminds me that black metal is actually a very beautiful genre if you take a moment to dig through it. I just wish more people were more willing to actually listen past their preconceptions of black metal. Deafheaven’s Sunbather album and I, Pallbearer by Harakiri for the Sky are also examples of beautiful black metal pieces

Kudos for being the only one reacting to this band in youtube. They're rly something special, ik its been years since you uploaded this but I hope you checked the rest of the album because its just a masterpiece. And the lyrics are very deep, something about the french language makes it so poetic and beautiful at the same time, even tho they talk about rly depressing dark stuff about urbanization.

Glad that you got to this kind of black metal. This is the only album of the band and it's lead by an intersting buy named Neige who worked on a lot of bands to create this unique malancolic beauty feeling and he is one of the main figure who create this new wave of black metal (who's got a lot of bands now) in the last 2000s early 2010s. In the same vibe i recommand you Alcest - Percée de lumière (his main band) and Woods of Desolation - The Inevitable End

My first choice when it comes down to black metal, also from France, would have to be Deathspell Omega. Once I got hold of "Fas........" about two years after release but was Terrorizer magazines pick for album of the year it was still on my radar, nevertheless, after DSO it's hard to even use the term "black metal" applied to any other band. They absolutely crush just about everything else. Nobody knows who the fuck they are, aside from the singer doing a couple of interviews where his name was there and the lyrical content is absolutely brilliant. It's like some kind of scripture about mankind's role in the battle of who will be Lord when it's all said and done. If you really want to know what you already kind of know, everything from the album "Kenos" onward is pretty hard to fuck with.

This is not Black Metal, basically at all. This is yet another post rock/shoegaze/emo band masquerading as Black Metal.
If you want to actually go down the "Black Metal rabbit hole", check out the song Profetens Siste Vandring by the band Throne of Katarsis. That is quality "underground" Black Metal.

@@gilbertozambrano6182 They're really not. This is what is referred to as blackgaze, a combo of shoegaze and black metal stylings or artistic touches. It's actually a pretty common mix these days, after it was pioneered by Alcest, who as other people have mentioned share a member here. It's essentially a melancholy, mournful sort of music that has a veneer of black metal stylings on top. Deafheaven is another good example.
Now, does it still kick a lot of ass and sound good? I think so, absolutely. But it should be approached a little differently than true black metal... one wouldn't throw the horns at an Alcest show, for example, and expect a bit more lyrical depth than evil and Sataaaaaaaaaaan.
I love em both, but they both stand on their own artistic merits.
