Dude! I got so many recommendations but in do time. Happy to see Alcest here, one of the most beautiful music made. They got another 2 videos so hop in. Also for shoegaze / blackgaze i highly recommend MOL with Bruma and Serf to see how you like the genre.
I haven't listened to Alcest in several years, but I had to click once I saw you had a video on them. In my late teens I used to listen to Alcest, Agalloch, and Neurosis when commuting during the winter. There's just something really good about longer atmospheric tracks that build over a long time. Of course, the other bands I mentioned only overlap with Alcest at certain times, seeing as Alcest started out harsher, if I recall correctly, as things usually go with most bands.
Only problem with this song was that it was too short. I didn't want it to end. Loved the music, loved the singer's voice and I loved the journey through life that the video took us on.
Oh yes, Alcest is great. This song is fairly light, but it gives you a good understanding of their sound in general. It's all about the soundscape, you can literally drown in sound with them. But they definitely can go heavier than this.
Nice dreamy, calming atmosphere i can dig it! Idk what it was about, but I liked what i heard from the band and his voice. Something to get lost in for awhile. ❤ and ✌️
This song is all clean and mellow but they often incorporate black metal elements to add intensity to the emotions. Saor a couple days ago.. now Alcest!? You are digging toward a vast world of lesser-known but unbelievably good atmospheric/ambient/progressive black metal (and "blackgaze" too I guess) ! And I'm here for the ride!
