Lol what is it with sonic games and making youtubers turn their brain off when playing, I don’t remember struggling this badly when I played the game as a kid.
Nothing has advertised Sonic Adventure 2 for Steam as much as this video. I want to play it just to convince myself that I am at least *half* as competent as I was at 8 years old... But somehow I know I'll play just as badly, if not worse than Williaso.
I swear that I was never this bad when I first played through this game, back then I couldn't get past Death Chamber but even then I wasn't nearly as bad as him
I'm convinced the game was reading accidental, extremely subtle movements as full directional changes. If my thumb wasn't on the absolute top middle of my joystick and instead I was 1° to the side, Sonic would shoot off in a direction as if I'd told him to go right. Most noticeable on the jungle level when I couldn't stay in the middle of the tree
He's gonna hate it even more. No question about it. Especially if he plays the worst versions: The ps2/PC versions. Let me put it this way, all the stuff he's encountered in this video, he'll experience the same kind of stuff if not more of it in heroes. (he may also despise the bug/oversight where lances damage the player when touched during a homing attack) He would also utterly despise the stuff in team chaotix.

Talk about a skill issue here. Kids half your age can beat this game with all A ranks. Probably a freaking baby that hasn't even learned how to speak yet can beat this game with less game overs than you. How does one suck so badly at a children's video game? HOW?!?!
Wow, I thought the controls were a me problem, not the game's problem this whole time 😅 I find playing SA1 a little easier (but that's just me). Sorry you suffered through this, but the reactions were kinda funny heh.

Now play it again to get better at the levels because holy shit this is bad. The more you play it the better it gets until you A rank everything and that's when you finally realize that the speed stages are the peak of video game level design. Final rush is the best level in any video game if you actually take the time to master it. The knuckles stages radar is a very overblown complaint because it's just fine as it is. The tails stages are the weakest part of the game I'll admit but most of the issues you have are completely on you. And yeah like everyone says most of "the CONTROLS!!!" complaints are you just not getting how the game works. Seriously this feels like it's game grumps all over again.
