Season one of this series was like nothing else we would ever see in anime again. The plot being almost entirely in metaphor was an unforgettable experience. They don’t make em like that any more.

It tries to follow the same impossible to understand story without adding everything else that makes it addictive to watch. boredom incarnate watching the sequels.

Why tf has no one ever told me about this show, and why am I only finding out about it through an extremely well made AMV? After watching this before (in which this caused me to actually find and watch the show) and after, I got 2 completely different emotions. Before I thought this just looked like a really cool and well made show, but after watching it’s just a feeling of emptiness and longing for a part of my life I never got to live out. I have all these mixed memories of FLCL because i saw it while it aired on adult swim at like 11pm back in 2004-2006 and i dont remember thr TV dude but i do remember the alien chick with the bass guitar and a kid that had some kind of monster hand that would grow out of his head. Supposedly it's a metaphor for puberty but as a 8-10 year old at the timr iust remember feeling extremely odd trying to rap my head around it.

Watching this made me watch FLCL, and not only is this the most confusing anime ive ever seen, but its also one of the best.
Tried watching progressive and alternative, didn't seem to hold up as well as the original sadly
