I mean I got the feeling that the writers were really shallow minded and had no skill in philosophy whatsoever, because usually with these sort of serial killers that are highly intelligent, their motivations for killing has an undeniable brilliance to them, philosophies you just can't object to. Or they may simply just be brilliant minds, like Hannibal. But the Saw killer is completely unjustified!
