A good tutorial on a how to. I recently have been having the disk error in my van and it kicks the disk back out. So I come online to see what my choices are for cleaning the disk player. Seems there are a few versions to the same result. I decided to just go out and use something I already had. Computer spray duster! My player is now working fine again. Don't know how long for, but it is working!
@@P4boot I had forgotten about this since a year has passed. Spray dusters come with a long small diameter tube for fine area's, I simply stuck the tube in where the disk would go and turn it side to side as I sprayed. Do that for a number of shots for several seconds. After one year, I still haven't had any further issues!
FY everyones I: this is done with ANY properly fitting card stock. it may help to apply isopropyl alcohol 99% to the cleaning area but don't saturate the whole card.
Thanks. I'm that desperate to try what you describe here. I actually have the card stock that would hold up to being put in the player and then eject it. Worth a try.
On two of our cars (older, 2001 and 2003), the disc is taken inside, then makes 3-4 clicks and then comes out. Occasionally it starts playing, like catching smth inside of the radio CD player, but in most cases, the disc just slips and comes out. What that can be and how to repair this problem? Thank you for the great film.
Cut a strip of fine, lint-free cotton cloth as wide as the credit card and twice its length. Wrap the cloth around the credit card lengthwise and hold it taught between your thumb and forefinger at one end. [My friend did NOT do this step] Dab some lens cleaning fluid on the bottom side of the cloth-wrapped card.
Do you actually can get that like at a Walmart or Target that actually cleans the disc in your car because mine's been stuck in there for at least a couple of months and I can't get it out
No...i took entire car stereo apart and it seems someone else took it apart prior to me and it was a mess so i just scraped it....not worth it...way to small and complicated inside the disc mechanics
Your tutorial works perfectly. How easy it was to resuscitate my old but very cool Sony. Thank you very much.

Thanks for sharing this technique. Did you make that cleaning device from card stock & isopropyl alcohol?
