If you have a giant "F You" scratch down the middle of your Black Ops 2 (just basing this on evidence collected here), nothing will bring your game back. If you put it on top of a table and the disc picked up a few surface scratches from the left over Pop-Tart crumbs, there's a good chance a good ol' tube of Crest will bring your game back to life.

Just tried this today. 1) rinse the disk with water. 2)apply toothpaste in an inside out motion until it’s completely covered and let it dry for 5-10 minutes. 3) rinse the disk off in an inside out motion (should take about 1 minute) then pat dry with a terry cloth. It actually worked! I skipped the deodorant part.

I’ve done this method in the past. If the disc is really fucked up(like whole disc is riddled with scratches or scratches are very deep) then this method most likely won’t work (still worth a shot tho) and you’re gonna have throw the disc away. It worked before with one of my discs that had quite a bit of scratches but the scratches weren’t too deep. I actually did it with Vaseline. Also you may not even have to do the double coat like he did in the video with the deodorant.
Just letting you know that I did this to my scratched disc, dried it off and put it into a DVD player 3 minutes later. Worked like it is brand new. Actually do this, it’s legit.
This works miracles on Dreamcast games, which are infamously hard to resurface because of how fragile GD-ROM discs are. Saved me from having to shell out another $50 on a replacement copy for my replacement copy of Sonic Adventure!

I began to do this and I thought: "No, this will not work. I am really gonna miss this game ;(" . My toothpaste had small dots and I was about to give up. I did some circular motions too. I started to think: "where can I throw this disc?" but... I dried it with my t-shirt and there were still visible scratches. I set the disc in the old ps2. And it turned on, but made weird sounds. But it worked! It didn't crash anymore (GTA3) and I was so glad about it. TRY THIS, SCEPTICAL PEOPLE.

Just tried this on my ps2 copy of nfs carbon in which was freezing on the cutscene telling you that you just beat the final character. It looks better scratch wise. I’m gonna let it sit for a little longer then test time. If it works you’ve earned a sub. I really hope it works! Edit 1: game is already loading way faster, and is having higher FPS. You’ve got a sub man. I’ll say if it doesn’t freeze.

Instructions on how to take care of game 1. Take game out of game case. 2. Carefully place game into gaming console. 3. Play game. 4. When game is over, take game out of gaming console and place back into gaming case. 5. Put game case in safe place. Repeat this process for every game you play to ensure your games last long.

When I tried this the first time it didn’t work. But then I tried the second time a week later and it worked! (My disc was badly scratched) so if it doesn’t work the first time, try it again.
I waited about Fifteen minutes for the disc to dry, this does work 100% of course I am doing another game now, will let you know if it fixed that one but I recommend this for sure as a last resort.

Just tried this on my ps2 copy of nfs carbon in which was freezing on the cutscene telling you that you just beat the final character. It looks better scratch wise. I’m gonna let it sit for a little longer then test time. If it works you’ve earned a sub. I really hope it works! Edit 1: game is already loading way faster, and is having higher FPS. You’ve got a sub man. I’ll say if it doesn’t freeze.

Xbox360RepairDIY It applys deoderant with a spinning plastic ball, Imma try applying the deoderant to tissue paper and then applying it on the disk from there, since it would probably scratch the disk directly

Instructions on how to take care of game
1. Take game out of game case.
2. Carefully place game into gaming console.
3. Play game.
4. When game is over, take game out of gaming console and place back into gaming case.
5. Put game case in safe place.
Repeat this process for every game you play to ensure your games last long.

When I tried this the first time it didn’t work. But then I tried the second time a week later and it worked! (My disc was badly scratched) so if it doesn’t work the first time, try it again.

I waited about Fifteen minutes for the disc to dry, this does work 100% of course I am doing another game now, will let you know if it fixed that one but I recommend this for sure as a last resort.

I had tried just about anything to fix my disc, but it didn’t work. Then I tried this one and it worked. It didn’t work the first time because I used toothpaste that was kind of transparent. But when I used normal toothpaste it worked.

I’ve babied my NCAA14 for years not a single scratch . Until my dog got excited jumped caught my Xbox cables an ripped my Xbox off the shelf while my ncaa game was being murdered in there . It’s been over a year of not knowing what to do about it until I seen this . I’ll be damned if I don’t have it on right now ! This freaking works !
