hi, do you put in a gear or not when you change the front sprocket? or do you have the gear in neutral and just press your foot down on the rear brake?
I have a 2018 Freeride E-XC (newest model) with 11-48 kit. I am trying to change de 11t sprocket to a 12t but the rear wheel spins when I try to loose the sprocket bolt... any idea if the Freeride E has a different way of getting the sprocket out or anything I’m missing? Thanks in advance :)
44 foot lbs on an English torque wrench. Cheap as hell at Harbor Freight. Speaking of English, I don't gear down a bike if I'm just riding around bushes, tight woods however. Just messin, I love my Downunda Brothers. Cheers mate.
Please, for anyone changing this, the engine sprocket torque is 60, NOT 16. It is in the manual, and I highly recommend not going for 16 with engine sprocket :))
Harry was an absolute champion mechanic on the KTM NZ rallye here a few years ago. Skills!
Thanks for this mate I’m currently I’m fairly new to the motorbike world so this helped a lot keep up the awesome work 👍👌
Great video - i needed the info on which way round the front sprocket goes, plus there were loads of other small tips. Cheers mate
This was SO helpful!! Im a novice when it comes to this so this saved my ass!!!!!
Thanks Harry, I'm going to the 13 front on my 22 ec300. Big up Mate 🤙🤙
Brilliant explanation thanks!
whats the torque on the sprocket bolt? I cant understand what you said! thanks
60 Nm
I wonder what loctite model that was and how crucial it is?
Great instructions.
Perfect explanation thank you

He says not to have it in gear. Put in neutral and foot on rear brake.
Good video
60 NM ! Ok thank you.
This number i was looking for exactly:) saved me from buying a repair manual for this job:)))

Put it in gear
If you're about to change front sprocket on your big KTM adventure bike, the torque on those bikes are 100NM.
Good job!
Awesome thanks!
I couldn’t hear if he said with it in gear or not when loosening the front sprocket bolt
Same here. I turned on captions and it didn't pick it up either. I'm fairly certain that it shouldn't be in gear. Neutraland rear break.
He said “ I don’t like to do it in gear it can damage the gear box internally”
Is it reverse thread?
@@jonahdalton6557 no
@@rjones3459 ok thanks I got it anyway just had to put the chain back on and hold the brake
is it ok to do this without a torque spanner? Not sure that I will be able to gauge how tight 16Nm is but I have all the other tooling.
60, not 16

He said 17mm for the sprocket bolt at 0:45
Take your time take your time
Appreciate it, but 16 or 60 Nm. Few times need to slow down in explain a little bit clearer.
I watched this just to get this torque setting and no matter how many listens I have no idea what was said here.
Same…I came to check setting and couldn’t understand….but I’m guessing he said 60

he said newton metres, not foot lbs.
@@danlzlz8405 yea 60 newton metres, 44 foot pounds
He said 60.
Watch the the tip at 4:27 before starting.
