You could probably go quite faster through the first wide right hairpin if you delayed corner entry. You immediately run inside the corner and decrease your potential speed. Try to keep on the left after the straight, brake a bit less, then enter that right corner slightly later, and hit the apex later. I believe you could save a full second just there alone.
You're correct, there are much faster ways to take that corner. Unfortunately, I was not on my usual brake pads that day; they were overheating, and trail braking was much harder than usual (CL RC5+ instead of CL RC6).

question: does the coolerworx shifter affect the life of the synchros? you seem to be really wrangling the stick into place
This is already my 3rd shifter (stock, Torque Solution and coolerworkx) and out of those 3 the shortest transmission life was on stock shifter.
