    I would say Mach-E for me. I am a Tesla fan for sure, have test driven the X and Y and really liked both. But for me the better build quality, the interior and the familiar interior does it for me with the Mach-E. I'm a current Ford owner (Bronco Sport Badlands edition) - have owned many Fords in my lifetime beginning with the 1972 Ford Pinto (it was 10 years old when I got it when I was 16 LOL) but I would not say I'm brand loyal, I like whatever car I like. But the Mach-E does it for me. Yes it has slower charging speeds and can't currently use the Tesla charging network, but I am not a road tripper, more of a just around town driver, so this will suit my needs perfectly, I'll be home charging 99% of the time. Now I really want a GT which I don't need, but to me it looks a little better although I have no issues with the Premium model. Hoping to own one early 2024! Can't wait!

    Nice balanced presentation. I have the Mach E (Select actually) and love it. I think either car could make most happy, but that whole charging thing at this point in time is a big deal. In the future perhaps not so much -- but if you buy an electric car now, the future isn't relevant, lol.
    I'm not much on going fast anymore due to my age and response time (68 years) so the Select is perfect for me and surprisingly well tricked out for a base model. Still, compared to my other cars even this one could be described as "quick" -- it's that "instant torque" thing. Bought mine a while back and it came with the standard lithium ion battery (new Selects get lithium iron phosphate) and it did come with a 32 amp level 2 capable charger. Don't use that as I have a 40 amp Autel installed.
    Good video.

    I am very happy with my Mach-e. I test drove two different Model Y cars and as absolutely in pain after each. The ride in the '22 MY is terrible. One of my buddies, who has a Model S Plaid, said I would have needed to deflate the tires. I've been told Tesla updated the suspension. In any case, I've put 18,000 miles in less than a year. Very happy. I could not live without a driver's console or Apple CarPlay. I do wish I had dog mode, though. Neither car looks as good as my 1999 Lexus SC400.

    Now that us Mach E owners have the Tesla adapter that will work with ALL Tesla chargers including Super Chargers, it's hands down opened up every charging option on the road, there isn't 1 station we cant use now, enjoying our Mach E, with unlimited charging stations now.

    Great honest review of both cars, thank you. I went with the Mach E GTPE and I love it. For me, I wanted the Magna ride suspension, and I love the looks and build quality of the Mach E over the Tesla. Plus I just like Ford in general. I am also that person that doesn't want what everyone else has. Where I live every other car is a Tesla and I say dare to be different. Electrified America sucks, and in all honesty has been a nightmare, but now I have the Tesla adapter on order. So that problem will be solved. Cheers.

    I own both a tesla and a ccs EV and I would never trade in my Tesla. Been driving electric since 2014. The flexibility to know that I can charge anywhere is enough for me. Is my Tesla perfect? Nope. No car is. But I absolutely love driving my Tesla and getting on the road to go out of town I don’t have to think about it. I just go. Can’t wait for my Cybertruck. Love your content bruh. Hopefully we can collaborate one day. Peace.

    When vehicles are in short supply, some (not all) dealers will try to mark it up a little or a lot. But normally you can get a little or a lot off the price (helps if its last years model and they REALLY want to get rid of it). Hard to get a "deal" ordering online.

    As someone who's owned both Tesla and CCS EVs, ( Etron, R1T, ) there's no way I'd swap from a Model Y to a Mach E. It's slower, gets less range, doesn't get as many software updates, and let's not even get started with the charging infrastructure. The Mach E is a terrible deal overall.

    You have to know being an owner that Tesla lies their face off in regards to their EPA range number. There's no way in hell you can do 300mi+ in a Model Y - all real world figures point towards 250~270mi, which is largely identical to what the Mach-E rated range and what it actually does in the real world. Bluecruise is also infinitely better than Autopilot + FSD which still drives like a drunkard that phantom brake checks every underpass you go under. Not to mention while Ford isn't the gold standard in vehicle manufacturing, it isn't as haphazardly thrown together like Teslas are.
    Personally I think the VW ID.4 is the better family oriented EV SUV, but the Mach-E comes in a close second. Add to the fact Musk won't STFU, I wouldn't even put Tesla on the shopping list today.

      I own a Tesla model Y LR. I get pretty much spot on the WLTP range estimate of around 330 miles to a charge. Not sure what you’re on about. My model Y’s average energy consumption over the last 20,000km has been around 0.14 kWh/km.

    • @engineeringtheweirdguy2103
      @engineeringtheweirdguy2103 10 месяцев назад +1

      Pretty much all manufacturing experts agree Teslas build quality is on part with any other legacy automaker. Additionally blue cruise can only operate on pre-mapped freeways. It can’t be used off them or on freeways that aren’t mapped. Here in Australia there are NO mapped freeways, so we can’t use blue cruise. Tesla autopilot can be used just about anywhere. And phantom breaking isn’t so much phantom breaking. I know in my Tesla that if someone isn’t paying attention and merges too close to my line, the Tesla will start gently slowing down. I also know that occasionally it will see the freeway entry traffic lights and think there is a red light there. So it will start coming to a stop. Not only can I turn this off in the settings but I can also just tap the accelerator and the car will ignore it.
      I’m surprised to find some cars coming to a complete stop and staying stopped. There really isn’t a scenario in a Tesla where you can’t override it by pressing the accelerator, meaning that either the driver has fallen asleep or is just letting it happen for what ever reason.
      And FSD will correctly handling traffic lights, side streets, parked cars, pedestrians, on any sort of road, not just a select few pre-mapped freeways. Meaning no, it isn’t better. It’s like autopilot except limited. And no where near FSD.
