    My Mom had her nose surgery there in the 90's and I remember going there with her after she stayed the weekend on site in recovery.

      Hello there! Thanks for the comment. The Hairston/Covington cemetery is not bank property; it is still owned by the Covington family. They recently hired a crew to come in and maintain it and when I last visited a couple of months ago, it was in great shape.

    Pronounce Hairston correctly! If you know the history you surely know the correct pronunciation!

      When referring to the owners of the plantation, they used the traditional Scottish pronunciation of "Harr-Stun". The enslaved peoples there and their descendants would come to use the more modern pronunciation of "Hair-Stun". Check out our video on the pronunciation we made a while back!
