Fascinating! I thought Mrs. Covington, who owned Beaver Creek Plantation, was a descendent of the Hairston family. When was that sold out of the family?
Hello there! You are correct, Anne Covington was a cousin of the Hairston's and inherited the house from them. The family sold it in the early 1980's. Excellent question! The slaves would have most likely been spread out all throughout the property. Their quarters would have been made of wood or very low quality brick (since Rusty had a brick kiln) so nothing much at all still remains. The few outbuildings that do still remain are quickly deteriorating due to it being low quality brick.

I'm curious where the slaves lived? The smaller structures in back?
