Hey Jason. You can plug your Gnarbox 2.0 directly to your iPad Pro using USB-C cable. You just need to change your settings to USB-Ethernet. Then it will act as an external SSD.
I just got the 2020 iPad Pro as well, and I have a USB-C dongle made by Anker that has SD and Micro SD card slots that work perfectly with the iPad. I’ve heard good things about the gnarbox, but putting them directly into Lightroom I think is the better option. Then you can just use a backup SSD like the Samsung T5 to back up the photos if you need to.
Do you edit photos on the iPad even when your in your studio? Seems to me that the best place to edit would be on a nice big 4k high quality desktop monitor.
Jason, I have a mega basic question. In the studio where you’re shooting, with your Mac in the background, what kind of soundproofing do you use? Your audio sounds really good, and there seem to be many hard surfaces for the sound to bounce off of.

I just connect my A7r iv directly into my 2019 iPad Pro to move files or if I want to save space I use the Sandisk usbc/SD dongle - although the faster ProDrive usbc/sd is on offer on at BH (mine comes Tuesday)

Why not shoot in hlg bt2020 and output timeline/export in rec 709, they say it gives you more colors to work with Than recording hlg in 709 internally Or maybe that's all bs?

Hello Jason. You can put your SD directly into the ipad. But I prefer to put it on my pc and then sync with my ipad. So I dont fill the 100Go of lightroom cc and can still edit everything from the ipad.
@@JasonVong the only issue with my solution is that you have to wait to go back to the pc to upload the content of the SD. But it makes a back up and you have then unlimited storage of your big a7rIV. Plus it saves you storage for your online 100Go lightroom cc so if you are on the go and need to edit you have plenty of room and can start editing quickly and then copy later somewhere else.
I just use a USB-C to USB-C cable from the A7R IV to the iPad Pro. Lightroom can now directly access the camera. This allows a fast transfer, but as others have noted will cause Adobe cloud to sync all of them. I just use a keyboard case, flag photos I dislike via hitting the X key, then batch delete rejected photos.
Hey Jason. Thanks for the video! You mentioned that you no longer use off-camera flash. I'm shooting a small wedding (photos only) soon and I'm considering investing in a flash. But I'm not sure that I actually need it. It would be great to know your current workflow and if there are better alternatives to spend my money on? (My gear: A7III, 35, 50 and 85 all 1.8 and the 24-105 f/4)
Jason, I am with Epidemic sound and love their quality and variety of music, but I have my own channel and my wife has hers and we can't use the same membership for both channels. Does storyblocks allow us to use it on both channels? do they have great music? would it as good, less or better than epidemic? I trust your honest answer :)
I tried it but we had major audio issue with that platform. We contacted their support and everything but ultimately nothing fixed it so we went for Be.Live. It's a shame, stream yard is great too otherwise!
I actually don’t use the sigma as mentioned in the video haha Tamron lenses are great, I don’t own them but thru my testing, they are match up well against the GM counterparts!
Something I noticed with my copy of the Batis 85mm is in continous eye AF on the a7rIII critical focus is off much more than my Sony 85 1.8. Originally bought the Batis to sell the Sony but not too sure now. Noticed anything like this?
CI Tommy Liu I got the A7 and paired it with the 24-105 G OSS. It’s a very versatile combo and the lens is stabilized. IQ is also superb with a pleasant bokeh at 105 mm f4. For the Tamron: At the 70mm end I think it would be too shaky without any stabilization.

Take note, we pro eventually will reduce our gear. No more external lights, no more 12 cases under 50-80 lb cases for travel. Those are stupid days, we do post a lot easier so no more hot lights and strobe lighting kits for travel. Less headaches with every country's stupid work entry laws. The name of the game is travel as light as possible and not to show you're a professional. I don't even own a camera case, it makes you a target.
If I had to choose one len overall for Sony A6400 which one would you choose? New to photography and willing to learn. Might use it for food, portrait and products photography. And also if I had to choose one overall len for Sony A7iii which one would you choose? Asuming the same I said before.

yes you can transfer card directly to iPad with sd card into type c plugin :)

Hit up @fjhphoto on IG. He could probably give you a better answer regarding Godox products! Those are generally the best and affordable for Sony!

bro, you could buy a $40 apple sd card reader. then transfer from sd to ipad. easy. your work around will be much faster.
