Xbox One, pretty sure it was named because it was supposed to be the only the thing you'd need hooked up to your TV. The "One" thing that could do it all.
I wish they kept with the ratation based naming scheme of the 360. The Xbox One would be the 720, The Series would be the 900 and the Series X would be the 1080.
My brother in christ. 360 is to indicate the degrees in a circle. Like the power button and design scheme of the console and brand. The naming scheme didnt start at a video resolution that no console has ever run at.
one s and one x series s and series x i dont see the confusion. xbox 360 meant gaming 360 xbox one ment all in one console tv gaming ect series just means there multiple sku's(base and pro) the next xbox though i hope is just called XBOX
GTA V released on ps4 and Xbox One a year later in 2014. In 2013 it was only available for the previous generation. I remember playing it on the 360. Good times tho
I understand your point but I think its still a better sounding name then "Playstation 1,2,3,4,5 etc." Xbox ONE sounds like a cool sleek name or the Xbox..Series X nice tune to it. Idk maybe its just me, we can all agree at least Xbox 360 was the best name for a console.

@Mario_Universe my guess is that they wanted to keep the X from the xbox one x, and added series since they had multiple variants planned.
