    Can the plastic piece between the camera body and the mounting arm be rotated 180 degrees to create more space between the wall and the back of the camera?

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  4 месяца назад

      Nice catch! It can after I took it apart and flipped it around. Not sure why I was thinking that was fixed with a secondary mount hole. Last one I installed I didn't use the bracket since it was on an eave and the other bracket hung down way too far for the liking as it was like 5 inches down or so.

    I have the Duo 2 and their mount can be used for ceiling or wall - it works just fine. Also, if you want wall mount, you can use a junction box to help with cable management and it gives you a little more space as well.

    I have the current version, and just FYI, it works with non reolink nvrs. I have it with my lorex 32ch nvr.
    I like this because you can aim it side to side, I have a turret style that can only be tilted up and down.

      I tried the Duo 2 and another h265 camera as well on a Dahua (probably the same Lorex) and that thing just takes it like a champ.

    Thanks for the long detailed video I really appreciate it! The mount and the whole camera have so many design flaws it's crazy they haven't approached these issues in three generations already. I'm in love with the picture quality of this camera and the FOV but I have security concerns about the design because the whole mount is held together by a single screw, the SD card port is at the front and there's no way to hide the wire. It would be easily stolen or tampered with in my area for sure

    Hi, any recommendation for 8 cameras (or 4 dual), has to work with Frigate (had a Coral pcie), as far as I know the requirements must be (2 streams, x264, POE). As you stated, Reolink would be a bad idea for frigate (been thinking on CX410 or the newer CX810). (I'm from Europe btw). Cheers, keep going!

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  Месяц назад

      While you can use Reolink for Frigate, it can be a pain at times due to the lack of flexibility and such. You can use go2rtc to fix most of that with a bit of time and tweaking. Sometimes it just become worth it to me so I jump to Dahua for that aspect. All down to what cameras you can get.

    Hi. I have a question. What do you think. Which camera has better picture quality on digital zoom one of those 12mp or duo 3 with ,,16mp” especially at night.

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  4 месяца назад

      Not sure. As I don't have a 12mp to compare it with. In theory the 12 would be better since these are 8mp cameras in it.

      I showed a quick clip at the end but the distance isn't the same on them so it isn't a perfect comparison. I also showed it up against another 4K cameras at the same distance though.

    I wish they changed up the design of it, It looks like the Johnny 5 Robot from that Movie Short Circuit lol. Compared to the Duo 2 it doesn't really look like much of a difference. It would of been cool if it had Optical Zoom

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  4 месяца назад

      Yeah that would have been pretty cool to do optical zoom and totally relevant for 8MPx2. The motion track is pretty cool but does need a little work to make easier for the masses without utilizing email.

      Optical zoom on a fixed camera would not work well. PTZ is the better option for that.

    Hi, I noticed your cameras are cristal clear without glitching…. I have a 16ch Reolink camera system with 7 RLC-811A cameras installed on it. My video footage be freezing especially when I have it on High What settings do you recommend in the streaming section for the Clear and Fluent

  • @Pro1er
    @Pro1er 4 месяца назад

    I too would like floodlights but the thing that is holding me back is that I have the original Duo and the Duo 2 Spotlight and they both have a larger vertical FOV than the Duo 3. The vertical FOV on the older Duos is not very good to begin with. I hope they improved the motion capture because the original Duo had very good motion capture but the Duo 2 is really bad - and I've tried adjusting all the settings. The only thing the Duo 2 reliably picks up is the UPS truck, unfortunately it always flags it as a person.

      I prefer the empiretech 180 myself for the ball mount, compatibility with more software, and I prefer the view of it as it isn't as fish eye looking. I do prefer the smart light option and brighter LEDs on the Reolink though.

    how the heck did you setup remote access without port forwarding? I have the app on my mac and iPhone and don't see anything like that.

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  4 месяца назад +1

      Make sure UID is enabled in the NVR or Camera network settings. Add it to the app via UID, luckily you can scan the QR code. And that's it. It will work as long as the camera or NVR has an internet connection. No port forwards necessary. I have done this several times for folks and it works pretty well especially on AT&T ISP gateways as those things are notorious for factory defaulting during automated firmware upgrades.

      @@digiblurDIY wow, that was easy. thanks Travis! My Duo2 camera has had me climbing a ladder and buying a roll of cat5e because when changing the wifi network, it would become unreachable, like every time I tried it. Please please help me asap. I need to protect myself from a stalker. I like face recognition but Reolink doesn’t have that. So I wonder how can I view snapshots of people walking by close with one camera and another camera looking over a wide area with relatively even more traffic. If I could just swipe quickly through snapshots of people it would save me time and not require to review videos at length. What software should I use? You were mentioning Fairgate?

Plus you can do the second substream at 720p/1080p which is awesome for that middle ground for detection on Frigate. amzn.to/42FuOe3
