My mom grew up loving this team, (we now live 15 hours away so...)They had extra tickets and literally no one from her team was interested so she went. Me, my brother and my dad saw it on the tv at bw3's while she was there. She was so happy. Got a picture straight up with the cheerleaders too. She was so proud.
let me add that both teams had opportunities to ice the game earlier or at least create separation.....this was an evenly played game and either team would have been a worthy victor, but someone's gotta win and this time the marker landed on Michigan....

I have a really good story about this shot. It’s very long so bear with me. I went to spring break with some friends from North Carolina. UNC was hot off a national championship and my friend bet me $100 that UNC would make it further than Michigan in the tournament. Being a blue fan I took that. I went back home to Ohio where everyone is split 50/50... OSU fan or UM. We went to a bar on Saturday night to watch this game. St. Patrick’s day. Ohio state played before us and lost to Gonzaga, so there were a bunch of salty OSU fan’s that wanted us to lose.. talking a bunch of mess etc. We were down to Houston ALL game. As the Houston player went to the line it was 63-61, my friend from UNC texted me and said “it’s over pay me my $100!” And I said it’s not over bro chill out. Then, rooster by Alice In Chains came on in the bar. It was my best friend and i’s favorite song. We kind of looked at each other and said “bro... do you hear the song? We’re going to win this game” We knee something magical was going to happen. You know that intuition in your stomach you get? It was extremely strong. I felt it...and the commercial break ended. The guy misses both his free throws... Michigan calls a timeout. We’re freaking out. The whole bar is watching this game. Game comes back on, They pass it to MAAR and he passes it to Poole, he takes what looks to be an eztremely deep and difficult shot... no way it’s going in I thought... that moment lasted for a minute... and then it splashes... he makes the shot and we’re instantly screaming and throwing bar stools, knocking beers over screaming at the top of our lungs. Luck of the Irish I guess... texted me buddy about that $100 as UNC lost the next day. Never got my money. But all the stars aligned for that to happen. I’ll never forget the feeling of Michigan proving the haters wrong. Best moment of my life. Thanks J Poole
