He came to Houston and played like garbage for us. He was a system player, and a great one. But he wasn't as good as people think. He was a great wingman and he could've been an allstar in any era. But MJ and Phil Jackson were a large part of his success.
I tend to agree. Scottie was an attacker but only as long as he had a pack of wolves. Jordan (and Rodman for that matter) didn't need that pack of wolves to go on the defensive. This is the main reason Scottie never won Defensive Player of the Year. But he was on the all-defensive first team throughout the majority of his career. If the Bulls had beaten the Knicks in the ECF and won the championship in 1994 against Houston that would have killed any talk about being in anyone's shadow. (And he'd have one more ring over Michael)
Scott Fisher to say pippen was a system player is ridiculous. Pippen could constantly give you 18/19 points a game. Pippen was one of the best on the ball defenders. You may not be old enough to remember but in 97 in the NBA finals pippen should of been MVP. He had an amazing run during that whole playoff run.
I forgot how aggressive Pippen was when drivin to the basket, and when he was playin his brand of tenacious defense, dude was on a mission every time he had the ball.....
@@tikogto3866 ok but Jordan could not have done everything he did without Pippen, Pippen was an amazing player. They held him back a lot of times from ever getting 50 points or more. At any time he could have turned up the scoring, and he is one of the best defenders of all time, one of the best all around players ever. The 1997 playoffs says enough.
@@tikogto3866 Well that's simply not true. He probably had his personal best year when MJ retired for the year. As Matthew Arndt as said, it wasn't a one way relationship here. Jordan was at his best when he had Pippen by his side.
@@mearndt1 You act like Jordan played A LOT of seasons without Pippen. As a Bull he played only TWO full seasons without Pippen when he was very young. What rookie can lead a 20 win team (the year before) with coke heads on the team anywhere. What can a player coming off a broken foot do with bums. What can a third year player do when his number 2 and number 3 best players (Woolridge and Dainty) are kicked out of the league for cocaine use.
Glenn Coquia did he really say that? Show me some footage. Maybe he said like comparable to his offensive skill set. But, even that would be blasphemous! Cause we all know that he wasn't talking about defensively.
The phantom foul on Laimbeer and Isiah's injury stopped them from winning 3 titles. Isiah was incredible in his prime scoring 16 in 90 seconds. Even towards the end he dropped 40 on Stockton after the dream team snub. In the finals he scored 24 in a quarter against L.A. Stockton was a good player but lets be real Isiah is considered by many including Magic as the best PG of all time.
You all can bash Scottie if you want to but during the first retirement of Michael Jordan is when pippen proved himself he led the bulls to 55 wins and missed 10 games at that in 1993/1994 season and that was with Pete Myers at shooting guard if the bulls had Hersey Hawkins at the shooting guard they make the finals easily and during the 1994/1995 season after they lose Horace Grant and Scott williams in free agency he leads them in every statistical caterogy and have the bulls in the sixth seed and a winning record during the first 65 games of the 1994/1995 season before MJ returned and remember Ron Harper was a bust as the scoring shooting guard the bulls needed. I respect Isiah because he is definitely one of greatest players of all time but he has to give pippen his due doesn't matter if he isn't as good as bird Jordan or magic.
Willie King, can’t say much more than that. Pippen was the man. To me I always thought he was the best all around player out there. much respect cause that is facts

For real. In 93-94 the Bulls woulda beaten the Knicks in round 2 if not for a bogus Hue Hollins foul call in the final seconds of game 5 on Pippen. Isiah never made past round 1 of the Playoffs again after the Bulls swept them.
When Scottie played against the Piston at that time, he was not yet in his prime! He was rather young and hadn't developed that killer instinct yet! But when he did, he became great!
The absolute sign of all the greats is that they can carry a team on their own shoulders, which is something Pippen could never do. Plus as shown in this video, he is still soft like cake because he is getting upset with people speaking about Jordan, even though nobody was talking or thinking about Pippen. I never heard Jordan doing the same for him. Great players dont dick ride other players like that, but I heard thats what he did in college anyway.

I am a long time Detroit Pistons fan and will always believe that Isiah Thomas is an iconic figure...However I do wish that he and Scottie would squash this beef...Yes this was one of the heated rivalries of the day (especially when you chronicle their playing from 1987-1991)...But they're both retired, what's done is done, the Bad Boys Pippen and Jordan Bulls have their place in basketball history....It's ok for Isiah and Pippen to acknowledge each others greatness...Lakers and Celtics hated each other in the 1980's now for them it's a bro fest...I wish the Isiah and Pip could follow the same pattern
and very underrated too he could handle and distribute like a PG and shoot like a member of the modern day GS Warriors. His defense was so on point, always focused and in the right position, never gave up any possessions. a HOFer in every way
Speaking of class, why did Jordan and his coach trash the Pistons in the media between game 3 and game 4 of that series? It's not like they were going to not win the series. The Pistons team wasn't the same. Isiah Thomas wasn't the same. The Bulls were finally about to achieve what they longed for and yet they couldn't exude even an ounce of class at that moment. They couldn't pay any respect to the team that helped them get to the top. That made them a stronger team. Why is that? Then Jordan deliberately kept Thomas off the Olympic team the next year. Was that classy? Perhaps the Pistons should have been bigger at that moment. Perhaps they should have swallowed their pride and self respect and congratulated a team that dissed them heavily. A team that didn't give them any respect. Perhaps. But I can't blame them for doing that. I didn't then and I won't now. As for Joe Dumars, he was friends with Michael Jordan. He could overlook his lack of class.
@@richardlloyd2589 might want to look up how the other teams played in that era, including the immaculate Celtics. Pistons did not do anything any different than the rest of those teams of the time.

As a native Detroiter, it's gratifying to know The Pistons are 3-1 against the Bulls when it counted. The rivalry between Detroit & Chicago is deeper than The Pistons & The Bulls (Bears vs Lions, Redwings vs Blackhawks), so this one put a smile on my face. Hate it or love it, Detroit made Jordan & Pippen champions.

@Robert Johnson I am not knocking Isiah, man... Pippen is better than him...he ran point forward for 6 championship teams, he was one of the best defenders of all time...
Robert Johnson old age? Detroit just won a championship the year before. Rodman was still playing in 2000 winning rebound titles. Dumars was still playing. Isaiah could have still played but was bench on purpose so Detroit could get grant hill for the draft. The reason the Detroit line up stop playing is because the greatest duo of all time Pippen and MJ humiliated them in four sweep 🧹 and they knew they were not beating the bulls ever again. Isaiah and lamber had sour grapes about it. And Pippen just told it as it was Stockton and Magic were just better point guard then Isaiah Thomas and that’s why he didn’t make the team not some imaginary feud with Michael Jordan. Pippen was good enough to make the team and Isaiah was not simple as that. Also a unbiased bleacher report said it best analysts put Scottie Pippen at 19 all time and place Isaiah Thomas 47 out of 50 barely making it. So all the shit talking that Isaiah Thomas was saying that Scotty Pippen not top 50 and they should put Dominic Wilkins over him it’s funny because according to Bleacher Report Isaiah should be knocked off the list to make room for Dominic Wilkins !
Isaiah isn't getting it. Nobody on the Dream Team wanted him on the team. He's gotta acknowledge that about himself rather than attacking anyone he deems inferior
Everybody on the dream team who didn't want Isaiah on the team is bullshit Zeke was and is second to none Bird didn't wina title in college pippen didn't shit in college Zeke was bad in college leading Indiana to a national title and in the NBA he was a champion fuck the dream team Zeke was and is bad. @Ulysses432 Isaiah was better than Jordan in college and for his size he feared know one Jordan is what I call a uncle tom he couldn't understand a brother from Chicago growing up in the project's Jordan is a North Carolina apologist and so it was.
Here's my question, y'all are saying that no one on the team wanted Zeke on the team, especially Jordan. The same thing as what Magic has said. However, Jordan has never publicly made such a claim. He's on record saying he had nothing to do with it. If someone has a clip with him saying otherwise, please share. Magic said that Bird wasn't pushing for him, that doesn't mean that Bird refuse to play with, nor didn't want him on the team. The only people Magic mentioned who are on record of not wanting Isaiah on the team, is himself and Pippen. Magic said that Karl didn't want Isaiah, but I haven't seen or heard anything on record from Karl. So even if it were true, Magic mentioning three other players besides himself, equal four. That's four people who didn't want Isaiah on the team, that's not the entire team. Again, if it's available, someone please share the audio or video of Jordan, Bird, and Malone stating that they didn't want Isaiah on the team.
Well the reason is obvious Scottie was nobody during the time he played without Jordan. Scottie was a gr8 role player, his skill set fit very well with Jordans especially on defensive side but he was not a star that could be the go to guy.. Scottie could be equated to Ron Arrest or Ariza or Dremon Green on the championship teams. Mind u those championship teams had atleast 2 legitimate stars Lakers had Pau Gasol, Warriors had KD as 2nd star
The fact your screen name is kevin spacey already lets me know that your life choices are already shaky so it gives zero validity to your opinion....my name compared scottie pippen to trevor ariza. Go look up that 93 94 season when jordan retired and was replaced with kukoc kerr and PETE MYERS and look up what Scottie did
None of them wanted to play with you Isiah. You cant go around bad mouthing Magic, Bird, Jordan, Pippen or be the ring leader of a team that played basketball like the Piston did and then act like you were wrongly treated when you realize that no liked you or wanted you on the Dream Team.
Well put. Bad Boys prided themselves on not caring what people thought of them as long as they won. Well, the Olympic selection committee thought lowly of you Zeke, even though you were a winner; then you started caring.
Arne Cruz No one cares about the opinion of some internet guy. Watch any documentary on Bulls team and listen to his teammates and coaches. Think they know a thing or two about basketball. Shit, even funnier listen to Isaiah s old coach Chuck Daley you know they guy who coached the Dream Team even after Isaiah was not on the team. He called Pippen the best player on the Dream Team, referee to him as the most complete player in NBA, when Isaiah was playing. Rodman called Pippen the second best player in NBA next to Jordan.
Scottie Pippen hates Isiah Thomas because Isiah and the Pistons were his team's nemesis. Pippen was looked at as the player who failed to help Michael Jordan get past the Pistons. The Bulls couldn't get past the Pistons because they had no answer for Isiah Thomas. The Bulls finally got over the hump after Isiah Thomas suffered that debilitating wrist injury in 1990-91 season. He had what was thought to be career-threatening and season-ending surgery in January. He returned in April but he would never be quite the same player. Isiah's problem with Scottie has to do with status and stature in the NBA hierarchy of players. Isiah was/is correct in reminding Scottie that he's not on his level. It's interesting how Jordan and Pippen supposedly "hate" Isiah, but had no objection to Chuck Daley being named head coach of the "Dream Team." Jordan, Pippen and the Bulls had no problem adding Dennis Rodman and John Salley to their team to win championships. As for the so-called "Dream Team" snub. It's only making Isiah a bigger legend. The snub also diminishes all who were part of, or benefited from keeping Isiah off the team. Isiah Thomas is the first name that comes to mind when the "Dream Team" is discussed. What ever stature/status Isiah Thomas was intended to lose, has long ago been regained by the never ending controversy. Isiah Thomas has his stamp all over the "Dream Team."
I didn't like Isiah, but living through the era from the early eighties to early nineties,he was one of the greats, and the leader of a two time champion team.he belonged on the dream team, and everyone knew it and also knew the reasons he was left off.its that simple.
But Magic was obviously not being left off and Stockton was undeniably having a MUCH better season than Isiah was. Yeah no one wanted to play with him, but Stockton WAS better at that point in their careers
The Scottie Pippen interview at 6:48 says it all. But Isiah response is PRICELESS!!!!🤣 But on the flip side Zeke is CRAZY to pick LEBRON OVER JORDAN!! I ain't even looking at all the spectacular dunks & moves by both. I'd pick MJ because HE MAKES FREE THROWS & NEVER QUITE ON HIS TEAM!!

No GREAT player can win a Championship without having good player's around them. Why you think it took Isaiah 8 yrs to win his first chip?... Because Detroit had to put the right pieces around him. As AMAZING as MJ was no way in Hell was he ever gonna beat 5 HOF player's with Dave Corzine as his sidekick. That shit just wasn't Goin to happen... No he didn't win until they started surrounding him with BETTER player's.
Isaiah was a champion before Jordan and Pippen!! How are you gonna pick Stockton over Isaiah?? Pippen was lucky to be on that dream team and needs to stop licking Jordan's butt. Jordan isnt the greatest...maybe the greatest cry baby the game has ever seen.
Yeah IT was an okay player... The fact remains that when you have to play so brutal, no class, no good sportsman conduct... That about explains why he was just an okay player.

Interesting debate about who was better between IT & Pip. Hard to evaluate them in that context to me. However, the Pistons during that time had terrific depth at nearly every position. The Bulls had a system that featured the best aspects of their best players. Pip was a perfect compliment to Michael. Isaiah was the heart and soul of his squad.

Jordan never one a nba title without Pippen. if you look at the numbers for pippen and thomas, and said which guy would I want then pippen. Pippen had 6 championships and thomas only 2. He also playted for 4 season longer than thomas and made the playoffs 7 more times. He was 8 time all defensive 1st team where thomas never made it (all defensive tean 10 times) . Thomas led in assist once matched by pippen, a small forward, who led in steals. He shut down magic Johnson and the bulls beat the shit out of the pistons for many years. He also had higher field goal percentage (both overall and from three. He nearly doubled thomas in rebounds and tripled him in blocks. There are few categories where thomas bested him and Pippen had to share the ball with Jordan. He also got more career rebounds, assists, stealsm, blocks, had better field goal percentage, and played double amount of games. Nobody in their right mind would pick thomas over pippen if they could see those numbers. Hell, he couldnt even make the dream team.

Scottie is much more better in basketball achievement as compared to Isiah Thomas! These NBA players sitting there have no right to laugh at Scottie at all. Isiah is merely a salty man! His comment in comparison between LeBron and Michael is not worthwhile for judgement.

Pippen was a little scary of tough teams early in his career even though he had the talent. They were able to get in his head and it made him played lousy most of the times. Through the years he got a little muscular and his confidence came right along. The talent was always there. The mental toughness finally showed up and he became a superstar.

He was a system player, and a great one. But he wasn't as good as people think. He was a great wingman and he could've been an allstar in any era. But MJ and Phil Jackson were a large part of his success.
He is a very baby who can't hold his own, if so why didn't he win with the Rockets and Trailblazers?
I was thinking the exact same thing. Damn he was vicious driving to the basket and finishing with monster dunks. We were all focused on MJ.

He IS the reason they won that year, primarily.

Pippen was such a dog on defense , you can see guys played for honor, paycheck was second.
@Robert Johnson pippen had back issues, money is important, guy was underpaid all his career in Chicago.

Detroit couldn't buy a break, but that team led by Thomas was one for the ages.
Cheated us out of the 88 game in lakers
The phantom foul on Laimbeer and Isiah's injury stopped them from winning 3 titles. Isiah was incredible in his prime scoring 16 in 90 seconds. Even towards the end he dropped 40 on Stockton after the dream team snub. In the finals he scored 24 in a quarter against L.A. Stockton was a good player but lets be real Isiah is considered by many including Magic as the best PG of all time.
Air Pippen doesn’t sound right but the man simply could fly. Fortunate to have seen ‘92 Dream Team as well. That class was loaded with talent.
Yeah but it did say AIR on Pippen's shoes.
What did Isiah have ? Puma and some ugly ones at that ? Seriously ????

For real. In 93-94 the Bulls woulda beaten the Knicks in round 2 if not for a bogus Hue Hollins foul call in the final seconds of game 5 on Pippen. Isiah never made past round 1 of the Playoffs again after the Bulls swept them.
Everyone seems to forget all the disrespectful things the Bulls said about the Pistons before and during the series.
@Michael Duncan You must not have watched many Bulls/Pistons games or any Pistons games for that matter.

If Scottie wasn't gunna play if isaih play. Mj wouldnt play without scottie
Pippen. I love you man. You’re so humble and honest. You were one of the greatest and one of my favorites. Underrated.

4:55 Let's keep it real... Joe Dumar, did congratulate the Bulls after the game. He was a classy man and palyer.
and very underrated too he could handle and distribute like a PG and shoot like a member of the modern day GS Warriors.
Well I’m guessing 3yrs of dirty play with intentional and flagrant fouls may have something to do with it.

10:00 I don't know why everybody is laughing when SP was better than them in the game...
Well the reason is obvious Scottie was nobody during the time he played without Jordan.

1996 Bulls....Jordan.....Leading Scorer and GOAT
Pippen....Best all around player
Rodman,,Best rebounder
Kukoc.....Best 6th man in the league
Kerr.........Best 3 point percentage
How on earth could they have been stopped?
Pippen hit the head of the nail......” I don’t respect s thing he ever did” !!!!! Perfect 👌
Nick Bowman but the thing is every team played like that not just Detroit
All around players were started by Magic. Jordan and Pippen took that and ran with it. Now everyone wants to be that. Pippen is very underrated. He had many clutch defensive plays.
*** Biggie Smalls "whats beef" playing in the background ***
Fo sure
Scottie got six rings. He can say whatever the hell he wants. Miller and thomas mad bitter lol #ChicagoBulls #Pippen #33
A "TRUE" professional athlete gives props to a colleague even if they had personal differences.
Larry Bird's Celtics didn't shake Isiah's hand when the bad boys finally beat them. That was how they passed the torch back then. Sounds like a double standard to me
Now I see why Jordan has 6 rings...Hell he had Scottie Pippen by his side.
He did But not a lot else.
Isiah had Dumars (deserving HOFer), Laimbeer, Rodman, Vinnie (superb 6th man), Dantley/Aguirre (2 of the BEST SF's of the time).
But according to ignorant basketball fans mike "did it alone" smh
Don’t forget MJ also had Dennis Rodman
Mj didn't do along but he mold pippen that's why I dont usually comment on this post cuz people dont know the game
Love Isiah , he’s pound for pound one of the greatest point guard’s ever. Absolutely loved watching him play, but he should have stopped and gave Michael Jordan his respect after that game instead of just walking out. He did deserve to be on the dream team. Goes to show petty bullshit never gets you anywhere.
Glenn Chapman you must love a dirty player
Kicks rUs No I don’t. No one does. He was a great guard, playmaker, ball handler shooter. We can’t deny that can we?
Glenn Chapman yea. We cant.
It was all Laimbeer idea
Kicks rUs IT wasn’t dirty
Nobody wanted Isiah Thomas on the dream team, enough said ...
*Larry had a legitimate gripe.
*Jordan was still hurt over the no hand shake. But it's ok for him to hold press conferences dogging teams out!
*Magic was still butt hurt because the Lakers got swept in 89 by Isiah
*Pippens opinion doesn't count because he had absolutely no business on that team! Proof Being Jordans b*tch has it's perks!
*& the rest of those pre-madonnas never won jack snot anyway. Except Clyde that is.
Dre Murf 313 I thought magic had issues with Isaiah insinuating that magic got HIV from men
@@camdencapps6894 he did
Lol they are all acting like little girls ”not wanting him on the team” hahah
Isaiah was the second best point guard during his time behind Magic but he was able to defeat all the great teams of that time, all of them. Zeke is the truth!
"He was kissing magic" lmfao
Both r gay.
Michael jones Their sons as well
Why werent pippen & jordan mad at chuck? He was the coach of the bad boys but they had no problem with him being the dream teams head coach. I was surprised they didnt make riley the head choice. After all in 92 he was considered the greatest coach ever at the time having the best & higher winning coach at the time. That really was classless to leave the game with 7 sec left iv3 always seen the losing team hug the winningteam
Good point about Chuck!
I don’t think Chicago Bulls would of won all those championships without Scottie Pippen
Uh definitly not. Definitely not those early 89-92 years Detroit was stacked, and bulls were hardly that deep outside there 2 stars..
@4 MIN.. that rodman foul on pippen would get you suspended for a year today lol
Too soft now
Sole Magus that foul is the very reason I did not want him to come to chicago. But when he got here and did his job I was cool. Lol
Bulls never did what they did without
Scottie Pippen
Scottie is an emotional girl.
isiah looks down on scotie because isiah knows scotie was afraid of him unlike jordan who keeps trying
Reyson Zarate are you smoking one one Scottie would shut him down
I've heard some people say Scottie is the best all-around player of all time. But I have never heard Isiah is the greatest PG or passer of all time. Who do you think is better - Scottie or Isiah
Pippen 100000000%
Pippen was at jordans level man
Pippen All The Way
LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
All of Zeke teammates will say Jordan wasn't the reason they lost but when Scottie got the confidence. That's when the Bulls had there number. Also Zeke head coach said Pippen was the best player on that Dream Team. Zeke just sipping that hatorade.
Lmao dey went for Dennis!!!!
Well all of his teammates hate Jordan far more than Pippin. Rodman is the only Bad Boy Piston that gives Jordan his props
Look at isiah ducking his head trying to not be seen getting out of there
MJ and the Bulls made him bowed before his king MJ...lol
Scottie is much more better in basketball achievement as compared to Isiah Thomas! These NBA players sitting there have no right to laugh at Scottie at all. Isiah is merely a salty man! His comment in comparison between LeBron and Michael is not worthwhile for judgement.
Pippen was my favorite player back then
THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON.Dont forget that.!!!!!!WHAT ISIAH DID WAS DISHRESPECTFUL for the game and the people who where watching the game.UNSPORTSMANSHIP leaving like that from the court
THE CELTICS DID IT TO THEM- NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THAT THOUGH
Really? Then why was Bird on the Dream Team? He left the court on The Pistons without shaking hands the same way when Detroit beat the Celtics just 3 years prior.
Shame on them too!!!!!!
Oh ok. Just makin' sure. lol That's fair then.
Ioannis Chatzikaplanis how many times did bird do it? I’ll give u a hint it was a lot more than once.
Pippen was a little scary of tough teams early in his career even though he had the talent. They were able to get in his head and it made him played lousy most of the times. Through the years he got a little muscular and his confidence came right along. The talent was always there. The mental toughness finally showed up and he became a superstar.
I respect Isaiah Thomas as a player but he was a hater on the low
There’s a thin line between hate and love. They respected each other for sure and recognized each other’s talents. Two great athletes. That’s why people still talk about them
Uhhhh yeah. People in Chicago, before Isiah got drafted - they KNEW about his big mouth and thuggish habits. Someone who knew him well, told me, "Do NOT let his boyish looks fool ya".
NGGTV, man you've got to have a part Two to this one, or something!
Great, great vid, but to short!
This could have been 30 minutes or more...
Nice job 👍👌👏 though, as always.....
I Miss you Chicago Bulls forever
Took them to game 7 the previous year and swept them as back 2 back champions. And Jordan haters still think the Pistons got the better of them.
LEBRON OVER MIKE IS A JOKE OF DA CENTURY!!!! LEBRON NEEDS A SUPER TEAM TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP NO COMPARISON.
Like Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, Longley, Kerr, Paxson, H. Grant? Like that super team? Get the foh!! Lebron James is the biggest baddest strongest best all around player to ever play. Facts!!!
Lol at T Mac's face when Scottie was talking about Thomas
There are no Bulls' championships without Scottie Pippen.
