- Für Elise by Ludwig Van Beethoven played on glass harp by Robert Tiso
New Album "CRYSTAL SOUND" is now available.

The score was not published until 1867, 40 years after the composer's death. The discoverer of the piece, Ludwig Nohl, affirmed that the original autographed manuscript was dated 27 April. This manuscript has been lost.
It is not certain who "Elise" was. Max Unger suggested that Ludwig Nohl may have transcribed the title incorrectly and the original work may have been named "Für Therese", a reference to Therese Malfatti von Rohrenbach zu Dezza (1792--1851). She was a friend and student of Beethoven's to whom he proposed in 1810, though she turned him down to marry the Austrian nobleman and state official Wilhelm von Droßdik in 1816. According to a recent study by Klaus Martin Kopitz, there is flimsy evidence that the piece was written for the German soprano singer Elisabeth Röckel (1793--1883), later the wife of Johann Nepomuk Hummel. "Elise", as she was called by a parish priest (she always called herself "Betty"), had been a friend of Beethoven's since 1808. In the meantime it has been proven that Rudolf Schachner, who in 1851 inherited Therese von Droßdik's musical scores, was a relative of Babette Bredl who in 1865 let Nohl copy the autograph in her possession. Thus Kopitz's hypothesis is definitely refuted.
The pianist and musicologist Luca Chiantore argued in his doctoral thesis and his recent book "Beethoven al piano" that Beethoven might not have been the person who gave the piece the form that we know today. Chiantore suggested that the original signed manuscript, upon which Ludwig Nohl claimed to base his transcription, may never have existed. On the other hand, the musicologist Barry Cooper stated, in a 1984 essay in the Musical Times, that one of two surviving sketches closely resembles the published version. It has also been suggested that Elise simply refers to a term at this point in history which simply meant 'sweetheart', therefore suggesting this piece was written for Elise (Theresa Malfatti)
ベートーヴェン「エリーゼの為に」グラスハープ
This great video teaches us that Beethoven just would have needed a few jars of glass instead of an expensive piano.
More like a few 100 dollar crystal not glass. its more expensive.
Still a beautiful piece...
+ balkoth1984 haha good one but I think beethoven needs to to twice to buy a 100 billon dollars just for a piano
Mouse117Inc Normal glass still makes sound like this, it's probably just not as loud. Try it with glasses in your kitchen. You just need to wet your fingers first.

Yeah, I used to do that a lot as a child... Now I do it when I'm washing up ;n)
there's no limit for the human talent.
gilson mozart true
Well said.
it may takes alot of practice to get to that level
gilson mozart bye
Idk if you can really call his talent.. like i would be offended if someone said i have a talent for art. What i mean is that i put a lot of work into what i wanted to do, im not a natural, and assuming my art is a talent is like saying that i put no effort into my work. I know you still have to work to improve talent, but many assume its just something you magically have, when in reality in most cases its the dedication of someone that causes them to succeed, not something like talent which may or may not be real~
I've been to Britain's got talent but it didn't go very well.
One of the judges (the bad guy) told me that if he ever saw me on TV he would change channel immediately and anyway my performance was not even shown on TV.
My talent was considered below expectations, but you can see for your self by checking out other acts that I could be well into the average.
Do you think in America it would be different?
roberttiso That guy can suck it. He may not know talent, but we, your 2.4 million viewers, we know that this is true talent. I think most people would not change the channel if they saw you.
roberttiso : i surely wouldn't change channel
Your performance is simply wonderful ♡
It’s a hit and miss on talents like yours. These high profilers look for eye catching high intensity acts and not look into talents like yours. It’s sad really.
roberttiso ... Bring some more visual into your performance by adding different color fluorescent ink into the water and lighting from below with black light.

Ey, another clone of mine.
So incredible! How can someone not see this as extreme talent? The science alone of getting the notes right with the correct filling of the water is astounding!
Because the glass harmonice, while uncommon, is not a unique instrument.
Meanwhile I must congratulate roberttiso on _not_ showing up on that show.
Sure, the European versions are not as horribly scripted as the US version but I would not trust them.
The first few seasons in Sweden did see some real talents from different areas, not all of them singers, but what I have seen from Britans version lately (have not followed any of them, byt RUclips...) there are too much emphasis on drama and too little emphasis on talent.
That's why it has 3 million views.
I guess now everyone’s gonna get recommended people playing on glasses
Ikrrrr !!
This is my second one today
@@pantrymonster Me too

Words don’t come close to describing the talent it takes to perform this piece on liquid filled glasses. The précision involved is immense, from using the right type of glass, to filling each precisely for correct tuning, to the fine touch used to bring the tones to life in such an astounding way. This musician is beyond talented, he’s absolutely gifted!
Except that tuning via adding water, and worrying about the tuning changing via evaporation is not longer necessary. (Some RUclips videos show glasses with water...but most have none.) When buying a glass harp vs adapting regular crystal glasses into a set, the glasses themselves are pre-tuned to the desired frequencies, based on the size, thickness of the glass, and grinding to fine-tune, so no water is needed & the tuning is stable.
Also, in these custom "instruments" the glasses are blown to have short stems and wide bases and they are constructed to all be the same height, all for stability & ease of playing. In addition, they come with a custom base for added stability, and professionalS will pay extra for special cases to facilitate safe transportation.
Of course, such a set glasses costs more than assembling a set of random glassware: A Polish couple "GlassDuo" that manufactures & sells sets of 30 glasses charges about USD$4,000 for them, including the base, but not the carrying case...that's over $100 each for the largest glasses, though purchasers get a 25% discount if replacements are necessary.

Handsome, and otherworldly tones. With a magical song. Like my Father I appreciate the classics. I found it quite awesome really.
Yep, that's cool stuff. Wish I had an 1/8th of the talent. Not sure how people can really dislike that. I can understand it not been every ones taste. But the skill involved deserves credit where credit is due
this is almost as moving as when my son memorized it and played it for me for the first time. he heard it was my favorite and surprised me.
You must be very proud
No need to flex. “Almost as moving” like geez, Rowdy no need to roast.
Rowdy! How very special! So your real name is Dad, then.
how beautiful this sounds i can hardly believe the music comes from glasses. Its always been one of my favorite pieces of music ever since my parents gave me a music box ,[ which played this tune], when i was 12 as a xmas present
Sounds one heck of lot better than when I attempt to play in on the piano! I think the glasses are a superb way of illustration the beauty of this piece.
Unbelievable talented......... I don't know how to express my respect for this. Briljant!!! Thanks, and please go on. Give us more of this astonishing beauty
I find this mesmerizing....and mind-bogglingly difficult. The judges said "average"???!!! Thank you for bringing some beauty into a world jaded by coarse sensationalism....
Roberttiso, never, never let the feeling creep into you that you are below the standard. You are a highly qualified musician with an extraordinary ear for perfection. Why look to the west? The east has better ears and the heart to appreciate genuine music and you will receive recognition here. Then go to the west.
This is truly beautiful energy
I love music and thanks to RUclips for popping this masterpiece in my recommended section 💚💛💙💜💖❤🖤🧡💓💞💕
I think this is amazing! I am no musician and have no background in music. But this is very pleasurable to listen to and obviously takes a great deal of talent to perform.
Fur Elise was just brought up to a whole new level for me😄 I'm impressed and astonished, magnificent. 👍👍👍
Exquisite version, with lots of bite. As of now, 599 have give this a thumbs down. Very hard to believe. Hats off to Mr. Tiso for his unique and haunting contributions to our world of music.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed.
599 thumbs down is a judgement based on resentment -- a dislike based on inferiority, envy ...
It’s unbelievable to me that anyone could give this a thumbs down. Knuckleheads!
Well done! Just goes to show that the Masters are not only timeless, their gifts to the world are for everyone
My Chihuahua is mesmerized by the sound of this!
Its funny dogs hearing goes way beyond our range. They can catch overtones in the glass harp we can't catch. Perhaps they may have better musical taste than some humans who downvoted this?
@@oskey5301 they can hear higher pitches yeah, but they can't distinguish between tones like we can. which means music doesn't really sound like music to them. a constant, nice rythm has effects on them though, which is why classical music calms them even though they don't "get" music (where hard rock would make them anxious because of the screaming and what not)
Absolutely lovely. My favorite to play when I was learning the piano. Hardest to learn bar none at the time.
Wonderful job.
True talent right there.
Oh my, that was really beautiful!
absolutely lovely! Thank you for sharing your talent!
The song that always sounds haunting, whatever it's played on, being played on the instrument that makes whatever it plays sound haunting.
How many glass of water would you like ,sir
Him: YES
I love the sound those glasses make. Wish i could hear more stuff like this. Very soothing.
this is right from fairies' land.... so mesmerising... it really got me.... still echoing in my ears and my heart....

@@iamapokerface8992 don't be such an ass... Enjoy the music.
This is something about The physics of creating sound and classical arts collides !! Wonderful interpretation with this special 'instrument'! Thank you :D And never let those 'average judges' letting you down. Keep going and create magical sound-like music, that's a very special talent you have :D
This iis beautiful and is a fascinating twist to the piece. Thank you
Blessings and peace to both harpists
George Alderson it’s the same person on a split screen. In the second image he’s wearing headphones to coordinate the second part with the first recording.

This is so fantastic and incredible,. I really like fur elise since then and when i see your version. . its really. . errr its so hard to describe it. There's no word to explain how fantastic you are. I salute you. Keep it up Sir. :)

His mother: Stop playing with wine glasses, go study, you're not gonna succeed in life with wine glasses
Roberttiso:
Bravissimo!! Electrifying and haunting at the same time! An amazing display of musicianship combined with the highest level of artistry and an incredible emotional feel!
Try sampling your glasses at home, then play fur elise and listen what it sounds like. After that you will understand what is fake and what is true! I'm curious to hear it, please post as a video response. Cheers
This is lovely. And if you mean true crystal vs just glass... yes one can tell very quickly. Crystal has such a lovely sound, plain glass is just dull.
I love good historical backdrop relating to a popular piece. Mr Tiso, thank you for sharing your talent with the world in so many ways. This is still being enjoyed (and roasted, by some) a decade later. Well done!!
Damn I love this glassical music
Outstanding!! Is also hereby glassified "BRILLIANT!!" Bravo!! 😍
It's very very very beautiful. My name is Elise and I love this song. I'ts perfect 👏👏👏👏👏
Utterly beautiful and so soothing to the spirit.
fabuloso, grandioso, sensacional realmente genial

You are a gift from God... don’t stop your art... offer it to God and he will continuously bless you
Anyone who has ever tried to get a wine glass to sing knows how hard this is.
The perfect way to start an evening of music on my pc!
absolutely amazingly beautiful. With an overdose of obvious talent
I've actually been looking for this song because when I was young, I accidentally broke a snow globe music box that played this song and I've been trying to find the same one for years.
very nice. the overlay shot was cool.
At the time of this comment (01/12/2020) - there are 462 people that actually gave this awesome piece of sound art a thumbs down. It's truly hard to comprehend how anyone could not be impressed; even fascinated, by this. Those people must dwell in a very unhappy and miserable place.
Good recommendation RUclips. Is there someone from 2019?
No 2020

I love this...what an awesome skill to have 😃👍👍👍
My tinder date: so do you play any instruments?

Sorry to repeat myself, but you made those separate glasses SING!
WIth utmost beauty. Thank you.
This is a glassical piece. If you don't like it you should not be wineing about it.
💀💀
What a beautiful performance. Great work!
He is fantastic
Most beautiful rendition of this song! I loved this!
just a note: the 'van' in Ludwig van Beethoven is not a middle name, it's part of his surname. so, it's not "L. V. Beethoven", it's "L. van Beethoven".
thats actualy very common in italian, spanish and portuguese names (not the "van", but a "connection" between two names)
Brok3nC4rrot it's actually 'von' not 'van', as he was German and not Dutch
Luna Lupin
Luna Lupin before telling something ,next time you should do some research first.
Even though Ludwig was indeed born in Germany, his parents came from Belgium.
That's why it is 'van Beethoven' instead of 'von Beethoven'.
tabasco I live in Germany and everyone calls him Ludwig von Beethoven here
Then still his name is officialy with 'van' in between .
Actually there are no people left in Deutschland that still have that name.
In Belgium more or less 150.
I am Dutch and must admit that I also asumed for a long time it was von Beethoven.
Mesmerizing! Graceful, gorgeous gentleman who have high regard for transforming the immortal Beethoven into a magical sphere which, I believe, would have captivated him.
I agree. I found this and the Fugue in D Minor today. What an uplifting and beautiful sound and performance. In America, where the FBI is about to cause a civil war, this is a nice distraction from evil.
Maestro! What am I more blown away by? Your performance or the toneless overtures of 207 idiots who disliked this masterpiece? I'm Mesmerised and astonished.
EXCELLENT!!! How does he perfectly tune and execute? Amazing talent and skill. And the editing is divine!
Bravo.
