I purchased my first DSLR camera, used from another reputable camera store based in New Zealand. I went from a point and shoot, to a used Nikon D800 with a couple of recently serviced lenses, one of them being a 24-70 AF-S. And im completely blown away with it. I went straight to the D800 because i have many photographer friends that helped me learn how to use it. Sure its an older mirrored camera, so apart from being slower than newer mirror-less cameras, im still able to take super impressive photos, and im still growing into it (currently mastering remote flash, and lighting). Nothing wrong with being second hand, but only from trusted stores like these.
I purchased a 2nd hand Tamron 18-300mm with a 5 star quality rating a couple of weeks ago for my Sony E-mount, it has not come off the camera as yet so I am very happy with it. It came in the original box and even included the booklet. Would I purchase another 2nd hand item/ yes I would if the quality is good and the price is right.
