Your face when you were giving out the award for the Best Amy and Laurie Story Line! (I have to agree, though.) I love the sisters in the 2019 version. They all feel so natural with each other. "The 1933 Katharine Hepburn version!" I laughed! Love the earrings, by the way!
Hi Meghan😘 Your love for Little Women by Louisa May Alcott inspires me to keep on reading the series. I am already going out of time with the Louisa May 2020 Redathon. I haven't watched all the Little Women movies but savoured the 2018 and 2019. This was an extraordinary video and it of worth watching. I feel enraptured with your ingenious videos.😙
I can’t wait to see the new little women film when it comes out on dvd. The tv series sounds really good. This video is so perfect and has made me happy 😃
You were so much better at narrowing down your picks! It was such fun to hear why you picked each version. 😂 the Katherine Hepburn version was just too much. 🤦♀️
Agreed - it was just a little too out there! It's interesting to see how film adaptations have changed over time. I feel like you can see similar themes with Jane Austen adaptations too.
That was so fun!! Loved it/ I do disagree one part bc I didn’t think Laurie in the 2019 movie was very good - well he was good in the part but I didn’t feel a chemistry between him and jo or Amy. Great video. Beth is my favorite character and loved how the 2019 movie depicted her. Susan S was the best Marmee imo.
I'm glad you liked the 2019 version's portrayal of Beth. It's always important to see your favourite character portrayed well! It's great hearing your opinion as always ❤
Enjoyed this, although I would’ve liked to have seen a little more love for the 1949 version. What a cast! And I think Margaret O’Brien is just excellent as Beth (not quite Claire Danes excellent, but excellent nonetheless). I really didn’t care for the 2019 Beth. Also, I haven’t seen the 2017 miniseries or the 1970’s TV version, so I can’t speak to those. My picks in order from favorite to least favorite: 1994 1949 2019 1933
Thanks for watching! I do love June Allyson. She and Peter Lawford together are a lot of fun to watch. Have you seen Good News? They are the leads, and it's a fun college musical. Margaret O'Brien is precious. I think I love her even more in Meet Me in St Louis. You've convinced me - the 1949 version does need more love!
Game of Authors was reminding me how good the 1949 one was :) While I absolutely love old movies (that's practically all I watched growing up), I don't tend to LOVE the old adaptations of classics. I still think they're decent movies, but they don't hold a candle to the artistry of the newer ones in my opinion. I find that old Hollywood hadn't figured out the art of the adaptation yet, as movies were still fairly new. The first talkie wasn't until 1927, only 6 years before the Katherine Hepburn version came out!
@@meghanthestorygirl4581 the jumps in time, the wierd yuxtaposition, the terrible costumes, Emma Watson's portal and accent, Laura Dern's portrayal..... Timothee's portrayal, Beth's arc, Jo's character inconsistencies. I had a haré tome differenciating the timelines and the fact that the looked and sounded the same didnt help nor did the costumes. Jo, Bhaer and the publisher talking to the camera was a stupid idea.
I love Amy for 2019 that actress killed it
She was amazing! My favourite Amy yet!
2019 was so good! I love Amy and Laurie in that one. It is by far my favourite version!
I'm glad you loved it! It's so good!

Thanks so much! I had so much fun filming this video - especially with the Katherine Hepburn stuff!

Oof. This hurt, as a huge fan of the 1949 version and someone who did not like the 2019 version at all.
I actually thought it wasn’t that true to the book. Laurie was so different!
Haha, we all have different opinions, that's for sure!
Absolutely! It’s all good!

Meghan, I haven’t seen Good News, but I do love Meet Me in St. Louis!
@@gameofauthors3228 It's such a good one!
Why don't you like any of the older film versions? None of those even got nominated!

The 2019 was bad in almost every regard
