Yesterday, My Mac was fine and shut it down. Now, I turned on my Mac and it says “Your computer restarted because of a problem”, i press a key then it restarted and it goes back to that message. I pressed Cmd + R. And I clicked Disk Utility and “Macintosh HD” is not there. The only thing that is there is the 251 GB APPLE SSD SM02… and disk0s2 (which is greyed out).

This worked! however I don’t know if this has changed since you made this video. Or if I messed up at an earlier stage. But the startup disk wouldn’t appear.
you will have to reset the laptop afterwards, and go into the terminal and update the time, reset again. And then the disk should appear.

After erase ,you reinstall macOS. So like new MacBook Pro ,clean . Will have to re install all programs all over. I do have Time Machine backup. Can that restore everything back completely?

Best advice given for the "damaged" error message I kept getting when trying to re-install the OS on this Macbook Pro. Others had that change the time nonsense or/and disconnect the wifi. None of that worked. With this video and the instructions followed thoroughly, I was able to get the OS install in one shot. Thank you Ajuda for the best advice given for this situation. KUDOS!
