    I'm off to make some of these using different knit tops I bought and never wore...the print was a bit much overall but will make some beautiful headbands. I'm not opposed to whip stitching the seam in place so it never shows.
    Very clever!! Thank you so much!!

    Thank you for this tutorial! It came out a little big for me, so I think I'll cut the fabric to 5 or 6 by 21 next time. Really cute! And the knot at the top is not uncomfortable, for those in the comments who are wondering!

    I have a small head and wear small or kids hats. I used a 19” width (incl. seam allowance) and it was still slightly large. I was using a 4-way stretch bamboo jersey.
    Simple design. Took minutes to complete.

    For clarification for anyone watching ... after you fold it in half, what is said and what is done aren't the same. Instructions are to match the left top corner with the bottom right corner, but it is actually the left top corner to the MIDDLE and the middle (where the seam is) to the bottom right hand corner.

    2 things
    Not sure seam at top of head would be comfortable. And how do you cut on your warped cutting board? You can straighten out the warp.

    • @KayJays
      @KayJays  3 года назад +1

      I’ve had no complaints from adults or kids with where it is stitched. I wear them myself and they’re the only headbands that do not give me headaches after wearing it. The board on the other hand, I love the story behind it so I choose not to fix it. I have plenty of boards, this ones my favorite. The cuts still come out perfect every time. ☺️ Thanks for the tips!

    • @bellbird

      I have a sensitive scalp due to a skin problem and I find this a very comfortable headband, the seams are not noticeable. Of course the choice of material is important too and a thin soft fabric works for me.

    What dimensions would you do for a kids headband?

    • @KayJays
      @KayJays  3 года назад +2

      6”x15”. I would play around with the sizing to make sure it works as kids are all so different!

      I’m so sorry for the delay! Around 8! It depends on the cut and such. I also started to do 8”x20” for a tighter feel around the head. At 22” they kept sliding off of me and some of my family.
