@loco4loco Considering the name of the file was "wellsh" I assume that in context the line would get cut short. Not unlike Barney's "if you see Dr. Breen tell him I said 'fuck you'!" Getting muffled by D0g letting go of the Combine wall segment. Which in a way makes sense since the speculated context for all these lines would have been in the opening of Episode One where the Vortigaunts brake you out of the GMan's stasis dimension(hypothetically being some kind of gameplay section for the escape)
It was meant to be for an unused scene where Gman would've tried to do something and be stopped by the Vortigaunts or something else. They scrapped it because they didn't want him to seem powerless.
I'm tempted to make a mod that changes absolutely nothing, other than adding gman_wellsh at the end of episode 2, it's just endlessly funny to imagine someone as calculated and controlling as gman fucking up and admitting it
They could have used the "get back here/come back here" quotes for when the players try to break the game by going outside the boundaries, and have them teleported back to the level area

I like the idea that G-man is an inter-dimensional horror creature with a language so complex it would take until the sun burns out to decipher, so when he gets angry, he likes... True language comes out... I don't know if this happens past swearing but y'know would be funny.
You know what the scariest thought is to me about Gman? it is the fact we don't know what he really looks like sure we know what is fake outward look is to everyone which is some business man with a briefcase but that isn't what I meant I mean his true look what does he look like when he isn't pretending to be a normal looking man? what does he look like when he becomes his true alien self? these are question's me and others will never know
I wonder if these imply a scrapped direction for the story, or atleast Gman, maybe it would have been similar to what happened in the episodes where Gordon either gets seperated from or betrays him. Maybe when trying to develop his character maybe Valve made him slightly more friendly? Who knows.
a final chase, gman chasing gordon through shattered pieces of all the games, sort of like the vault in half life alyx, while saying things like "come back here NOW"

Hearing Gman saying "well shit" not only mean that he, the being in charge of shaping the Earth's story, fucked up, but also the fact that he fucked up enough to cause him to swear.
to me, some of these lines suggest that gman may have served some kind of villain role in early development, later being scrapped. Maybe they already had the lines recorded and just didn't remove them/used them as placeholders during development. But this is all just my personal speculation.
Now I know where addon makers for npc death sounds from hl2 in gmod are founded sounds for g-man.. Hmmmmm, why this *not for long* at the beginning sounds like orgasm?..
They were for Episode 1, so they were likely from the opening scene. Freeman tries to escape or something, G-Man says "Come back" and "Not this time" but then he gets held back by the Vortigaunts and he's like "Well shit". At least that's my theory.
@@ethanlivemere1162 That's 100% correct. They're all variations of the final quote used in the game, "We'll see about that." Freeman was being taken from G-Man's control by the Vortigaunts immediately after the events of HL2, and G-Man was visibly pissed by it. Personally, I think they used the best quote. Those four words are so much more powerful than "Oh no, Freeman. Come back. Come back here now." and it sets up the events for Episode Two in a much better way.
