DISCLAIMER: I am unaware of any pre existing patterns for this crochet project. As a beginner I have yet to teach myself how to read and understand patterns, so no pattern was followed for this project, rather intuitively created. This project can be made from any granny square style and is pretty basic to need a pattern for. Any resemblance of this project to another project is unintentional. Хобби
Great examples showing tension and “cheating” connections. Been there. Done that. Totally agree it’s worth the extra effort. One more great video.
Thank you! It really made such a difference when piecing it all together - thanks for being here :)
That's very cool. Looks great. You have skills.
Thanks for tuning in :) It took a while to make but it's one of my favourite skirts now!
i’m obsessed!! we were both working on granny square projects at the same time!!
I can’t believe all the projects you can make with a simple granny square
Soooo cute!! ❤ And so worth the pain 😂
It’s the BEST skirt - are you going to make it?
Would you please show how you make the triangle pieces. And show ‘slowly’ how you attach them. I would really like for you to turn around so the back shows how you assemble it. Stand still for a few seconds.
You are so full of energy, that an old person can’t keep up with you. I’m 85 and I love your work.just a little slower.(:

I’ll make future videos slower, I’m learning how to make tutorials just as much as you’re learning to crochet.
You can attach by slip stitches.
Hope this helps
That’s so beautiful, I wish I could wear these kind of maxi skirt again, it’s a beautiful piece of work well done 👏🎉
Thanks for supporting! What kind of crochet do you like to make/wear?
Girl you are gifted , and your work so updated 🎉I wish you all the best .
@@arianejoseph4205 thank you! I hope my videos bring you joy :)
Hi Emma, I've started to make the squares to create your gorgeous skirt. Just wanting to check that all squares are crocheted together?? You mentioned sewing, so not sure if at some stage you use a sewing machine to sew them together. Thanks
Hey! Oh how exciting for you :)
You can decide! I crocheted them together with slip stitches, but you can also use a needle and thread if you prefer.

I love this so much! I’m going to make it for a concert I’m going to!! I was wondering what kind/brand of yarn you used for this project?
So cute! What’s the concert?
It’s called TruBoo bamboo yarn from Lionbrand. If you live in Australia you can get this from spotlight :)
Otherwise, just find any yarn you love the feel of!
@@Crochetbyemma Thank you so much!! Very helpful!! I’m going to see Noah Kahn, he is one of my favorite artists!
@@naturalfun2686 have a great time!!! I have a matching crop top tutorial you could try too!
@@Crochetbyemma thank you!! I love that I’ll have to check it out!!
Hii!!! Love your maxi skirt😍 and could you tell me how many yarn do you used please?
I don’t remember sorry… I do remember it took a lot more than I thought and I kept having to go back to spotlight to buy more lol…. If I had to guess maybe 11 of the yarn I show in the video.
Hi! I really want to make this beautiful skirt! You did a great job, thank you!❤ Can I ask when you attached the half granny squares to the granny squares, you didn't attach anything to the chain 2 spaces(in the normal granny squares)? So you just attached the clusters to eachother, and in the chain 2 spaces you didn't do anything, beacuse we do not have a chain 2 space on the triangle. I hope that makes sense, English isn't my native language, so it was kinda hard to write down, but yeah, I hope it makes sense! And thank you again😊❤
Hey, there is a two chain space in the triangle. Try watching it again. ✨
@@CrochetbyemmaYeah, I see it! Thank you!❤❤ have a great day!😊
What size of hook do you use? And how much yarn do you use for the skirt? It is so pretty
I used a 4mm and the yarn is in the description box.
Thank you!
Hi Emma, just wanting to let you know that I've finally finished the project (only took 6 months). It looks fabulous. How can I send you a pic
Haha! It really does take a while. But how rewarding!!!!!

Hi Emma I’m also making a granny square skirt for my daughter, my squares are extra large probably like 8 inches wide, so my question is - being that her waist is 27 and hips are 36…. Should I put the squares together ( 4 1/2 squares) according to hip measurement and then HOPE the waist part won’t be too big? If I make the waist band with the drawstring to pull will that work? Or will it bunch up do you think?
Hey! Thanks for messaging :)
Make the skirt according to waist but then add the triangles to adjust for hips… but instead of a drawstring you could not connect the first row of squares and leave it open and make it button up - hope it makes sense!
@@Crochetbyemma LOL I kind of lost you after the ‘drawstrings’ but that’s ok thank you for your reply :)
@@canolli2944 haha I wish I could send a picture…. Think of it like a pair of button up pants
The drawstring could be fine too though!
@@Crochetbyemma oh I see ok thank you dear!
@@canolli2944 I hope this helps!
I’m currently making a skirt where I’ll be making it this way so it’s more adjustable. The tutorial will be out in a few weeks so keep an eye out for that one - it might help to have a visual!
What size should the squares be to get an accurate guide to the fit?
You can make any square you want as long as it can be divisible by waist size. My waist for example is 80cm so I made rows of 6 squares at 13cm each :)
What do I do if my waist is 1-2 squares smaller than my hips?
This whole video is about that lol… I teach you how to make an allowance.
How many skeins of yarn did u use?
Like.. 10… takes more than you think.
All the info is in the description box
