hi angels!! i accidentally at 23:00 said i increased for 8 rows but i did NOT! i did one stitch in every stitch for 8 rows. i meant to change in on the screen but i forgot!! 😭🫶🏼
Is there any way to start the *flowy aspect* of the skirt at the hips and not under the hips? I so badly want a big skirt like this, but I want it to be a full circle skirt

Girll i lovee uu I’m gonna pray for u💞💗💞
Thank you!!!!
THANKS YOU SM I WAS LOOKING FOR THIA COMMENT
full pattern written!
important notes:
You should definitely watch the video first, this is just helpful for me after I watch as a quick reference so I don’t have to keep finding specific clips
I will format this broken up into sections
when I saw “normal row”, I mean 1 stitch in every stitch, no increases
because this pattern is pretty open with what stitches you can use, unless I specify a stitch you need to use, you can use whatever you want (single, double, half double, treble, go wild)
make sure you turn your work after every row!! it will keep the seam straight
waistband:
- slipknot
- chain 9 (I chained 11 so my waistband would be a bit wider)
- half double crochet into the second chain from the end, then half double all the way down the row
- chain 1 and turn work, half double crochet into the back loop only
- repeat previous step as many rows as needed until you get the right length to fit around your waist
- connect - watch video 7:59 - 9:22
- turn inside out (so seam is inside)
- chain 1
- lay it flat and find the sides, where your hips will be, mark the two spots (with a stitch marker, safety pin, bobby pins, etc.)
- do a row of single crochets into whatever available holes look good, try to make it as even as possible
- at each stitch marker, increase (do two single crochets into the same stitch) and replace stitch marker into the first stitch of the increase
- watch video for how to close rounds and change color if needed - 12:42 - 13:37
hips:
- chain and turn - do a row (any stitch), at the same hip markers increase (this is the last time, so you cam take out the markers)
- increase row - every other stitch (you increase in every other stitch, so the pattern would be: 1 stitch, 2 stitches, 1 stitch, 2 stitches, etc.)
- 6 normal rows
- increase row - every other stitch
everything else:
- 7 normal rows
- increase row - every other stitch
- 8 normal rows
- last increase row - every *fourth* stitch (same idea as before, except now the pattern is: 1 stitch, 1 stitch, 1 stitch, 2 stitches, 1, 1, 1, 2, etc.)
- continue normal rows until it is at your desired length! :D
scalloped border - watch video 26:04 - 27:48
weave in ends
add tie - 29:35 - 30:04
And you’re done!! :D
Thank you for writing the pattern out!
@@Beckyisthebest Of course! I originally wrote a messier version for myself but then I realized other people could probably use it and I’m glad that it’s helpful :D
Hi, Hannah🍀
I really love this tutorial. I'm Japanese and I have ADHD. I always spent my free time alone, it was comfortable for me but I felt like I hadn't productive day😢
However, I got confidence since I started crochet🧶✰⋆。:゚・*☽:゚
So, this tutorial improved my crochet skill and I could make my daily life more productive. I made this 3 times with different colors. Fortunately, some of my friends want me to make this for them, and I could sell that 😊❤🎉
It was big help to pay my tuition fee😮
Anyway, I'd say Thank you and wish your day filled with happiness★¨̮
This happened to me too!! I have ADHD and all day I only watched TV or drew things, but now that I know about crochet, my life is way better 😊 good luck in your crochet projects!
this tutorial has given me the perfect thing to use my dream yarn for, thank you so much! i've been needing a good comfortable skirt, and i've been struggling to find a project for the yarn, and this solved both problems perfectly!
I have never been more inspired to crochet in my life than I am now. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! While I've just started my project I loved your idea with the ribbon so much I've decided to throw in some rows of berry stitches for more texture & I am LOVING it so far😊
I just found your channel and I am amazed! I love your patterns and you’re so pretty!!
The tutorial I've been waiting for 🙌 thank you so much for sharing this with us 🫶
yayyyy!!! so excited, i hope you love it 🫶🏼🫂
you’re extremely good at explaining this! made it seem very easy lol :P thank you!
I'm currently making finishing touches on my current project and can't wait to start this project
❤ As a whimsigoth goddess, who lived during the actual 90s, this is absolutely wonderful. I’ll have to make this, as soon as I’m finished with some of my other large sweater dress projects. Love it! Sending well wishes from Sweden. (This skirt will be amazing in the cold of the winter!)
This is so beautiful!! I am so impressed and can't wait to make this, thank you so much!
for anyone thinking they’re FINALLY ready to start a skirt- watch this video entirely through before even starting. this is my SIXTH time frogging all the way back to the waistband. suddenly skirts are the ugliest things i’ve ever seen.
i love the top you're wearing. so flowy and pretty. also i absolutely love your hair.
i love you!!i love your videos!!!! its because of you why i loved crocheting even tho its hard, i still struggling about it but u are such a lifesaver iloveyouuu💗😽
hii, this is the first video of yours I've stumbled upon and I already adore you!!

Oh you can bet when I have money for yarn I'll be making this IMMEDIATELY
I WANT TO SEE I WANT TO SEE
You did a wonderful job ☺️ definitely got me inspired
✨🧝🏻♀️✨ thank you!

I love it sm, it's so cute 🥺❤
I'd really love to see the sketch too🥰
I love this it's so easy and so beautiful I'm working on crocheting a dress and I'm using this pattern for for the bottom ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this video. I used it as inspiration to make my first ever skirt! 💙💙
Oh my god! I was on pinterest just a moment ago looking at this skirt and i wanted to make it so i come here looking for a design that looked like yours and i FOUND you! Wow
I'm currently working on this! Thanks so much for the tutorial 😊
This is GORGEOUS
Making a scrap yarn skirt xx ❤ love it babes
omg this is so cute
thank you 🥹🫂💜💫
oh man this video would’ve helped a lot a few months ago kdjdkd I made a maxi skirt with four tiers but I increased. probably way more than I should have kdjdkd i used cotton for one thing, and each tier i increased 1+2 in the first round, so the final skirt weighs literally close to 6 pounds. i love how it looks it’s VERY swooshy but it’s definitely unwieldy and this looks much easier lmao
This is absolutely beautiful 💕💗👗❤
Wow THATS A EPIC WORK GIRL ❤AMAZING❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so so so so much! My Christian school has a kinda strict dress code so we have too have the skirt below our knees anyway the point is this is so perfect!!!
Edit: we have too only wear long skirts lol 😂 I can’t wear pants
oh my gosh i completely understand! i went to a christian academy for a couple years growing up and we had to do the same!! i hope you make it!!! 🫂🫂🫶🏼
@@HannahDrapinski thank you! I already followed your sweater making tutorial and my sweater turned out so cute! My favorite part was the star on the front. You so awesome 🫶
I have done making this today finally i took me about a month to complete it
I used ombré yarn and now it looks like a mermaid, this was a great tutorial!
Thank you so much for the pattern. I have looked for skirt patterns for a long time and it seems like the scripture was too short or too tight. Even the maxi skirts are the pencil style or I just don't like him or something. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you
Very pretty thanks for the video ❤❤❤❤
hello! i have a quick question before i start to make this wonderful skirt, does the waistband need to be big enough to fit around the hips in order for it to be put on? thanks for the tutorial!
Omg this is the first maxi skirt pattern ive found that ive fallen in love with, haha. The only thing i could think of that could make it better would be if it had pockets, but I’ve honestly never seen a maxi crochet skirt pattern with them so im not upset at all. I will definitely make this pattern at some point, great job!
edit: i actually found out how to add on pockets! i will be making this as soon as ive finished my current projects! just one question, do you know how much yarn you used?
Edit 2: ive decided to put how much yarn ive been using here for anyone else wondering. So far ive used three balls of lionbrands mandala ombre yarn, and i think ill need three, maybe at most four more balls to finish. But ive also been using a 5.00 mm hook and have tight tension, so other people might need less. Hope this helps someone!
Edit 3: so, im about halfway through my fourth ball, and your gonna need atleast 2000m of yarn at minimum to get full length. Im gonna need that ammount, and i skipped a row of increases.
Thank you so much for putting the yarn amount! I've been looking for it
@@morgaine7040 no worries! if you have any questions just leave a reply and ill try to answer lol. i may not be able to
How did you add pockets?
Was all the yarn in the beginning used to make this? Approximately how much yarn do I need?
I’m currently making this! Just in different green shades
So So Beautiful Love the Skirt...🥰
thanks sm!❤
I love ur vlogs!! Can u pls post more💖
pretty!
Does anyone know how much yarn to buy? And love the different colors and textures. Was it all #4 USA ...or is some of the yarn a #3 light weight or heavier. I am older lady but this I just found and am so inspired I may actually attempt this....love the easy stitches and is there any measurements for the waist or length?
What weight of yarn do you recommend the most for this? Also how many meters/yards you'd need? 😊
Hi I'm a 65 year old woman who loves your work. If you understood correctly, in the first two rounds you make a few increases spaced apart and then double? A thousand thanks
Do you have a rough estimate how much yarn this needs im still new so I don’t just have a stash of yarn and need to know how many yards i actually need
You might want to wear an underskirt if you wear this in public dear. Or, consider changing the stitch pattern a bit for the 7th color used from the top. The gaps are larger making that section quite see through.
Im actually going to make this for my promotion 👗
Hello I really can’t want to do this! It’s amazing
But I have a question please, can I add ruffles to mine?and how please?
Just got me some yarn to make mine 😁😁😁
Did you do one where you added lace, or ruffles made from yarn??
i made this skirt!! is there any way i can show you?
Thank you❤
around how many yards do you think you used? bc i have 492 and I'm looking for a free lace/ankle length skirt!
Hi! Do you know how much yarn this would have been ?
love this skirt!! quick question: at 23:00 are you saying that after the third increase row, you continued to increase for another 8 rows instead of doing 6 normal rows? I’m a little confused by the wording.
oh my gosh i’m sorry darling, i meant to write that on the screen!!! dang it. i did not increase for 8 rows, it was just normal rows with one stitch in every stitch 💜
i know u said u used a lot of yarn, but do u have a more accurate number like how many skeins or how many grams of yarn u used? thank u :)
Would I be able to just use 3 weight yarn after I make the band?
girl i need to know what stitches you used in order before the 3rd increase😭
What yarn size do you use? is it important for the pattern?
Do I have to use different texture yarns?
How much yarn did u use?😊 i want to make this
How many yards of yarn were used?
can i use mohair yarn for this pattern ;-;
Could i add more to the waistband to make a larger size?
If you are using one type of yarn and not changing colors, how many skeins do you think this would need????
How do you do the increase row??
how much yarn have you used? like how many meters?
How much yarn did you use?
Hellooooo, do you have a written pattern? That'd be nice if you do :3
The closed captions arnt woeking for me. As well as the transcript. I have a hard time comprehending words if i can read them as i listen, is rhere any way you have a pdf or something i coyld use? /gen
i know this is a super old comment but if this is still useful I wrote out a semi pattern (i made a separate comment but i just saw this and decided you might find it helpful lol)
full pattern written!

how can i put the tie into the waist band?
I love it baby
How many skeins of yarn n what size yarn
What size of hook did you use? 🥺
And what type of yarn do you recommend the most?
btw I loved the tutorial, I’m gonna do it soon!!
i used a 5 mm hook!! honestly, whatever yarn is accessible to you :) i suggest sticking with worsted weight and any types of yarn you can find. it takes a lot, so whatever you can afford (look for sales, joanns has good ones quite often) 💜 i’ve found a lot of really good yarn at thrift stores too!! 🫶🏼

can anyone please tell me the supplies I need to begin learning ? sorry I know nothing
hi!! these are the things i use in most of my tutorials and things i’d recommend for a beginner just starting out! i recommend buying the ergonomic crochet hooks with the grip handles (so much better for your hands in the long run), yarn, a measuring tape, a nice pair of scissors, a tapestry needle (to weave in ends and sew pieces together), and stitch markers 💕💫🫶🏼
Thank yooooouuuu@@HannahDrapinski 💓💓
OF COURSE!!! so excited, i love when people start learning crochet. such a beautiful art form 🫶🏼🫂

Yes, she is.
