Being a brass instructor I can truthfully say that I’ve seen BOA competitive bands start at this level and slowly climb in there respective regions and sometimes even on a national scale. 400 member bands don’t pop out of no where folks.

My band had 260 people my freshman year. 200 sophomore year, our director left so 140 junior year, and my senior year (we didnt have a show, covid) we were expecting 90 people. This year, my first year out, there are about 70-80. Dedication, good directors, and upper class-man are what create just strong bands. Remove 1-2 of those, your band is done for.

@@southfloridaarcheryguy114 by music education I mean the teaching of music done by band directors and music teachers throughout the world. Only until recently has the sound improved so that you can hear more than 2-3 people playing in each section. Bagpipes dont exactly have a tone switcher but we all make sure that when we play, you notice it.

I've seen bands many times that size that don't even have a pit
But that xylophonist is totally rocking it
    And the accessories person

Okay but it takes so much will power to give it your all in such a small band. Even big bands don’t put in this much work and hardly ever have as much pride as this band does
