    I can confirm, that you may cut the leaves into pieces and still get them to propagate. It took nearly 3 weeks to see any roots with water propagation but a leaf I cut in half did in fact show roots on both pieces after 3 weeks.

    i am interested in how the base of the plant grows out. can i expect one or two ‘sprouts’ above the cut? will the base of the plant ever look “presentable” again? most videos just show the new growth and my experience is with tradescantias, aroids, peperomias that tend to branch or thicke up after cuttings are removed. the cactus i had to cut gave me tip cuttings that look great, but the base just put out a sprout off to one side (which i guess i’ll detach and pot up) and will never look good on its own. thanks for any info!!

    I have a jade that I cut off a stalk of and just put it in soil. It's done quite well. Could I do that with a leaved section of my kalanchoe panda? Because it is about 1.5 yrs old and has a good few off shoots, that aren't separate from the plant but have little orange roots hanging off. Idk I haven't had the patience and reliability with leaf propagation of succulents. They grew far too slowly and some just died for no reason. So I'm hesitant to trust a leaf of my panda

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  5 лет назад +1

      Yes! You can cut the off shoot at the base, let it dry a few days, and then replant in some soil.

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  Год назад

      I just don’t let the water sit there. So after watering, just give it a quick check and blow off or tip the plant to get any water droplets off. Otherwise it should be fine. I personally like to bottom water and that avoids that problem. But yes, if the water is left to sit on the leaf, there is a chance it will rot

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  4 года назад

      Making sure you are watering appropriately and the plant has appropriate lighting is important. Make sure you aren't overwatering and the succulent has a good light source. Patience is going to be key, the plant still has a chance unless it is squishy or completely shriveled.

    Do you mist your Kolonchoes? That's where I run into trouble with them I think, because they're hairy they get moldy.

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  5 лет назад

      No I don't. I use a garden syringe, I think there is a link in the description box for it. If you are having issues with rot, if there is anyway to get them more light/air flow that might help too and or watering less or spraying only on the root parts. Good luck!!!

    Wow, what are the chances of this popping up in my recommend....just when I’m desperately seeking advice on my panda ear plant! My poor chocolate soldiers has pretty much lost all his chocolate and he’s gotten quite tall....obviously stretching for light. So I was considering cutting his top off, well a couple inches down, and replanting him. Is this possible? Will he root? A couple days ago, I was exploring him and I noticed white scale-y patches on some of the leaves. I’m in panic mode. Definitely not mealy bugs, will not wipe/rub off unless I peel it of the leaf, leaving a wound. Otherwise, the plant looks healthy. Now, I think I’ve notice smaller versions of these spots on some of your leaves! Could this been from hard water? I know this video is from a long time ago, but I hope you can help. I’ve gone and removed the leaves that had the bigger spot 😱.

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  4 года назад +1

      leah walker I would move your plant to more light before cutting it. It should grow new bigger growth and get happier and then you can cut it and have better success with it rooting. I also have been trying to figure out the white spots, it is possible it’s the water but I have never figured it out. However, it doesn’t seem to have spread to my other succulents or bother the plant so I just ignore them now 😂

      Typically roots are a good sign. I've seen props grow pups but never develop roots. Rooted ones on the other hand typically always grow pups eventually. It just take some plants longer than others.
