an excellent excerpt from an earlier interview...check out rj's great new book "nature wants us to be fat" as well as his peter atia talk...fructose is also converted from glycogen and has some problematic metabolites like sorbitol that induces cataracts...🌀

Why is insulin "bad"? Type I diabetics die without it. Insulin resistance is pathologic, and is due to damaged insulin receptors from chronic hyperglycemia induced tissue glycosylation, overly "stuffed" fat cells, along with free radical damage from incorporation of polyunsaturated fats into cellular and mitochondrial membranes. Excess carbs and seed oil consumption are the primary etiology of metabolic dysfunction.

I had no idea that glucose converts to fructose! Ugh...

It absolutely all over the place. He keeps referring to sugar all the time, yet we are talking specifically about that subject - wouldn't it make more sense to differentiate between fructose, glucose, refined sugars. He says animals become active when given fruits - ya so what. I want to be active. The brain is stimulated one minute, then he says its lay the next! that the brain is producing fructose would point to the fact we are supposed to run on it.
    Obviously Im skimming here, but

In evolution nothing is "Meant to be". This presentation would be more credible were RJ to use fucntionalist langauge rather than teleological language.
