    I started taking allulose a few weeks ago, right in the middle of intense distance running training to get back into race shape after a few years of low training. I'm 63, and was not losing weight, but was rapidly changing body composition - losing fat while (re)gaining muscle and strength. After starting allulose, the fat loss accelerated and the strength and muscle gains continued with no change. I actually started losing overall weight while continuing to gain strength. It must be the allulose occupying the GLUT5 receptor, which dramatically reduces fructose absorption while barely affecting glucose absorption for recovery right after a workout.

    Been trying allulose. Found it’s less sweet by comparison to equal amount of sugar, about 70%. And it’s not cheap. But if it’s healthy and also no negative gut flora effect, happy using it.

      Beware of Allulose. It gives me diarrhea. I went on the carnivore diet to get rid of my 20+ year chronic diarrhea and it’s healed me so much. You add that stuff and I’m right back where I was. Also spices and too much fat give me chronic diarrhea. I do best on salt, beef, eggs, pork For a little dairy and no fruit or no vegetables and no fiber. It’s been almost 2 years now and I have never been better. Before I went carnivore I was keto and my joints hurt every single joint in my body hurts so bad. I don’t have that anymore Either. I think people need to eat what they can. Some people eat spices and it doesn’t bother them. Some people eat vegetables they don’t bother them. We are eating so many more unknown foods these days and it’s really upsetting the system and you need to figure out what that is.

    Can you eat excess fat on a low-carb diet? If so, where does the extra fat go?

    • @napua5217
      @napua5217 10 месяцев назад +4

      It gets burned as insulin opens the fat cell for storage, with insulin low the body will burn that dietary fat
      It can burn a lot slower then carbohydrates (esp. processed ones) they get stored easier. In a high insulin state fat gets stored from dietary carbs and fat. Type 1 diabetes sufferers have found this loop hole, if they don’t take insulin to cover their meal, they will not gain any weight since there isn’t any insulin to store the dietary substances, check it out.. it’s wild!

    • @napua5217

      Keep insulin low and fat will melt off, i have melted almost 60 lbs of fat now off my body and it has been easy.
      I keep my insulin low for other health reasons but the fat loss has been a surprising and amazing effect

    • @napua5217
      @napua5217 10 месяцев назад +8

      But if you are eating too much fat, you won’t tap into your internal stores.
      I recommend Prioritize protein (not easily stored as fat and amino acids are needed for so much more then building muscle) don’t fear healthy fat(that comes with the meat, go for fattier cuts, enjoy some butter, full fat yogurt, kefir, aged cheddar, sour cream) avoid seed oils when possible (google a chart) and be conscious of carbohydrates getting them from whole and unprocessed sources (no boxes and bags, less from foods with a barcode that’s been processed) enjoy lots of non starchy veggies and some lower sugar fruit
      Fiber helps slow absorption (have fruit after dinner- If needed) chocolate sweetened with Stevia or monkfruit (lilys milk chocolate taste like recess, I like the dark too!)
      Try to eat larger meals containing high amounts of protein and enough fat, less carbohydrates. And eat less often- big meals less often, less snacking - give your body time to digest and also you won’t be hungry after time. If you need a snack focus on a high protein snack (chunk of meat, egg, aged cheese with deli meat even ) something with a little fat and protein that is in whole form)

    • @yoso585
      @yoso585 9 месяцев назад

      It goes to the fat cells. If it gets digested and absorbed, it will go to the fat cells if in excess. There are no free rides as some may preach. I think there are those that can add a lot of excess fat, not absorb it, and then think it vanishes magically. Truth is, came out the butt’

    Interesting discussion but he lost a lot of credibility every time he mentioned reducing salt. He should know better. In fact, I have heard him make the point that low sodium levels can increase insulin resistance, so he is not being consistent. Studies have also shown reducing salt increased all-cause mortality and has virtually no effect on blood pressure. This myth needs to die. ***I'm not a doctor and I am not giving medical advice. In fact, I still miss sugary carbs even though I intellectually know how damaging they are to my body and brain. And of course, that is the definition of addiction 🙄

      I agree, not enough fat in your diet.
      I'm on OMAD, for about 3 months now and dropped 10kgs. I break my fast at about 12:30pm with a big glass of buttermilk and bowl of nuts. That in itself provide about 35g of fat and about 20g of protein. Then I have my usual meals but with very little carbs, moderate amount of vegetables and 200-300 gms of meats- chicken, beef, pork, fish etc...
      I'm not hungry till 12:30pm the next day.
