That’s the wrong question, an equivalent question would be Brittney asking Matthew if he can raise a biracial child which I guarantee that conversation wouldn’t be perceived well!

Tbh that question isn’t equivalent considering that AD and Kenneth are of a different race and have therefore had different experiences than Brittany and Matthew. If Brittany asked Matthew that same question it wouldn’t sit right with me because AD asked out of genuine concern for another person of color if Britt asked that then she’s being nosy. But I also wouldn’t be mad if she asked, bcuz if he’s not ready then he shouldn’t have black kids and same for her. When people start listening to people of color and their experiences that’s when we can have real open and honest conversations about our reality and what’s really equivalent!
Girl what got me about Laura is that she had been bean dipping AD in the pods. Which meant AD had already been violated really but she had let it become an inside joke instead of making a big deal about it. So when Laura brought it up again and brought a stranger to AD to it and crossed the line again was disgusting. Laura is the villain of this season and you can't convince me otherwise.
Yeah that entire situation just gets worse and worse the more I think about. Laura being dismissive about it was what really made it worse, she wasn't even willing to listen to why they may have been offended.
That break up definitely seemed premeditated. He seemed to know he was leaving that night, or at least very soon,that's why he didnt unpack.

You're 100% correct about the race topic. Ppl can have different delusional opinions but the truth is the truth. Mixed ppl usually have BROWN skin, brown skin is considered black.. period. Ppl see COLOR before they even acknowledge ethnicity and unfortunately there are negative stereotypes associated with brown skin. If someone can't acknowledge that, that's apart of the problem. So yeah these conversations are very important and I'm glad you addressed it.
On Ken being gay/bi:
1. No one should out another person EVER. If Ken isn't ready to come out, end of story. Ken's cousin is out of line.
2. If Ken is gay and has accepted that about himself then yes, he is an AH.
3. Best guess is he might be queer but hasn't accepted it and this was a chance for him to ignore it - might have something to do with his religion too.
4. If ken is bi it's completely irrelevant. Bi means he could want to be with a woman. It doesn't change anything
5. I honestly don't think him being queer had anything to do with them not working out. I do think a big part was race.

My theory is that if he is gay/bi (my theory doesn't matter if he's gay or bi, what matters is that he's hiding his truth) and he went onto this show to convince his family otherwise, then him choosing a yt woman was more calculated then we thought. He can go home and tell his family that the reason he didn't work out w Brittany was the race issue instead of his sexuality being the real issue. I don't believe he really wanted to get married, considering he didn't have an answer to Brittany's question, "What would be considered good to you?"

TBH, if ken knew he was at least questioning he shouldn't have gone on such a show where people rush into serious commitments such as marriage. He needed to do some serious soul searching, and not put himself in a position where he could seriously hurt peoples feelings. He seemed self absorbed and genuinely uninterested in the feelings of the match he was hurting, like so many others on this show (it's a strange microcosm of society), it's a personal flaw that many on this show have -- a lack of empathy.

They did bring up race in the pods too, where he knew she was white and she knew he was black. They probably should’ve talked about it more while in the pods (unless producers edited it out), if race was apart of the reason he started acting differently.
It def could have been edited out. I remember them talking about it, and idk if race is the only reason he decided it wasn't working but it does seem like it's at least a factor

Did Clay even ask AD if she was done though or pressure her to finish up quickly. It seems like he can't even enjoy a meal with her because he doesn't want to enjoy the time they spend together -- in order to avoid AD's inquisitive nature. AD asks questions, & Clay looks exhausted trying to hide his true evil nature. The overwhelming majority of this show is performative romance, as seen by all these narcissistic, cheating, and closeted men, and many manipulative women. According to Trevors ex, Trevor studied the show in order to learn how to fit the criteria that the producers were looking for. The process to get onto show led to the most deceptive men being able to get onto the show. Netflix needs private investigators on the payroll to look into these cast members. I wonder if Netflix allowed all these controversial cast members for views.
To me it makes it less good as a show to have this “it’s fake” moments!
I hope y'all know these very highly scripted shows do any and everything for views, because thats the bottom line 😂. There's no other motive, period. None of this should be surprising after over 20 yrs of highly scripted reality TV😂

Yeahhh Trevor’s ex did say that…if that is true…it’s now only incredibly strange but also just a waste of his time. Idk how he ever thought this could have ended well..unless he thought she wouldn’t say anything, which was the original plan.

Trevor allegedly attempted to blackmail his ex to refrain her from exposing him & ruining his facade, by threatening to release explicit content of them, to his ex's own son and the rest of her family & friends. If this is true Trevor is a true villain. I wonder if he creates & keeps explicit content of himself with women as potential blackmail material. Of course this is all speculation. But just a reminder that marrying strangers is not a good idea to begin with.

About the comment on black women raising white children, maybe they meant it differently than what you understood. Maybe the real question was, would anyone ask if a white man could raise a black child? Because usually the whole reaponsability of raising children is placed on the mom, people dont ask questions like this. But if AD wanted Matthew and she knew that he was white, this should be a concern too, because fathers should be just as responsible for raising children as mothers.

I think AD would have asked him that, she’s dated white men before. Ken had never dated outside of his race and that could be why the topic came up. To me it doesn’t matter if the genders are reversed, the question would still stand.
Honestly, I don’t think AD bringing up the biracial kids had anything to do with Kenneth leaving, rather a convenient piece to a contrived storyline to make everything “make sense.”
I feel like he been not liked her since he realized she wasn’t ebony & he didn’t connect w the ebony women there but wanted to get further and be a storyline. But I’m also starting to thing these ppl already seen these ppl and they paid these ppl to be actors and get “aired out” later for the views everytime it drops

People should re-watch episode 3 and watch Britney and Kenneth in the pods and Kenneth talking to his guy pods friends. One guy talks to him about Brittany being white. Kenneth says his family will back him! It's just eye-opening to go back and re-watch them in the pods.
Tbh the whole AD and Kenneth conversation seemed a little scripted, or it’s like they were told to bring it up. It just seemed a little out of place.
It's possible, although I think it's also possible that that conversation could have happened naturally. We also don't know what was said before that point that we saw, or what was said afterwards
I wouldn't say he is bi or gay, I think he just doesn't like white women. Like some white people are not attracted to black people, same was with him. They also talked about race in the pods, because Britt mentioned he "identifies as a black man" - that was kind of funny.

So I showed the Kenneth and Brittany breakup scene to my husband (without any context)….he really listened to Brittany and was like, “well….she’s not really saying HE isn’t showing affection or physical touch….it sounds like she’s telling him she’s not craving him.” And I could see his point, because without seeing the previous scenes, I did realize that Brittany wasn’t being as direct in her messaging as I would have liked. And What Kenneth was saying was definitely communicated clear and concise.
so then I showed him how he was at the first couples gathering, then how he was on the boat, and how he was when they first moved in. And he was like, ‘OHHHHHH, Yeah I can see what she’s saying now. BUT it doesn’t change the fact that she never corrected him when Kenneth made it seem like she was saying she didn’t crave him. So she still sort of failed to communicate that properly. I wouldn’t have allowed him to move with the narrative if that wasn’t the truth…from her perspective.”
It’s always great to get his perspective on a lot of things. Made me look at that scene a little differently. I think if I was Brittany, I’d be like, “no, I’m telling you that the crave that I feel is lacking is the crave from you to me. I don’t feel like you are interested in me, and don’t want me. And you can’t use one instance of you trying to be affectionate with me and calling it all business like when I was sleeping and had to get up in 3.5 hours….that’s unfair to me and it’s really not valid enough to excuse your behavior prior to that.”
But I also believe that Brittany was toeing the line with Kenneth. I think she knew he could talk her under the table and she knew if she came at him with anything other than “timidness” in a sense, he probably would have blew his lid. Kenneth seems like the type of man that would go on the defense REALLY quickly….like your boy Carlton from the first season. Just automatically in combative mode. Honestly, Brittany dodged a bullet. I can’t imagine being with a man who is so calculated with his words and actions that he’s already got an escape plan ready. He was prepared for her to say anything that was out of sorts with their relationship, so he could bounce. But these are 24 and 25 year olds. That cut off culture is REAL.

As a black woman myself, I think the hypothetical question the yt woman posed about if Matthew was approached by a another yt woman was valid. Matthew having a child with a black woman would make the children black, not white. Asking Matthew if he is sure he can navigate the world with black children is extremely valid in my opinion and is no different than AD asking Ken. He would have to be just as invested to make sure his black child is self aware and would still need to have those uncomfortable conversations about racism and oppression even though he may not experience it as their father. Mixed children are black children in society.

Am I misunderstanding something? Also, a bisexual person (if he's bi) has every much a place on this show as a straight person.
It goes along with what I’m saying at that time about Ken’s decision to go on a show and act the way he did towards Brittany.
Regardless of sexual orientation (which is irrelevant) the way he is being shown on TV, is bad for his career, as a middle school principal.

It’s not the fact that he’s (allegedly) not straight that’s the issue; the issue is him coming on a straight love show, lying about it, wasting a girl’s time and potentially breaking a girl’s heart. She might have had the opportunity to find real love if he hadn’t done that, and his (allegedly) deceptive actions are on national TV. Also as (allegedly) a representative of the lgbtq+ community and the school he works for, his (alleged) deception reflects poorly on them.

@@Radiance17idk I think speculating on his sexuality in any way (even “allegedly”) is a dangerous game. Specifically for men, especially Black men, especially Black Men in the South - this is a matter of life and death, could spell the end of his career, get him ostracized by his family etc. We don’t really know anything about his sexual orientation and we shouldn’t be commenting on it.
Even if the cousin “outed” him, we don’t actually know anything since people lie on the internet for attention all the time and outing people is grimy af either way. We can judge him by the actions we saw, why speculate on his sexuality?

Just a thought: we’re all assuming that they broke up because of race when actually that’s not even what the break up convo was about..it (the convo they were having) was about not feeling the spark between them and not having grace for each other yet we’re all here assuming it’s because of race and blaming AD (side note: I don’t blame AD for a grown man’s actions regardless of what question she asked and this supposed seed she planted…please he’s not a child-stop infantilizing BM while in the same breath adultifying the BW) which goes to show that race does matter more than we wanna pretend it doesn’t.
Oh for sure, we are assuming that it’s race, but I’m also open to the idea that it may not be..bc they haven’t said it yet. When I talk about these shows it’s all based on what I’m shown bc the editors create the narrative they want us to believe…everything is with a grain of salt
That being said, Brittany’s conversation was about not feeling the spark…Ken said that wasn’t an issue for him…when clearly his attitude had changed, so the question that remains is what caused his mood to change? Was it race, was it that he’s gay, was it that he simply stopped liking her? All possible.
I completely agree with you about the world perceiving biracial children as black. Why are people upset about you saying this? Is it because biracial children might be raised as white? By the white parent? I’m a mixed immigrant child Italian/Irish ethnicity. My Italian side was a much stronger influence on me. I understand ethnicity is different from race. Do you think biracial is not problematic if there is a shared family culture between families? I was thinking that Britany is obviously from the south…so that could be difficult to reconcile, what if her ancestors had slaves? I don’t think I could marry someone whose ancestors abused my ancestors.
I think race is always going to be a sensitive topic and people (myself included sometimes) come to the conversation with their POV and just shut out other opinions. But aim of the mindset that people’s POV are made up of their experiences so unless they’re being flat out racist I can’t judge them bc they just didn’t have the experiences I did.
But at the end of the day, the world still goes by the one drop rule, even if people don’t like to admit it.
Hmmm you might be on to something about a shared culture, although it’s hard for me to see that with Black culture, even if they were both from the south…bc the southern Black experience is not the white Black experience even though both are southern.
All of this is stuff I think about. Both sides of my family comes from slaves, my mother’s side is creole and my husband is mixed so who knows what our kids will look like.

The world DOES NOT go by the one-drop rule; the US AA’s do & fiercely uphold this “rule.” It’s really upsetting when women like myself are grouped in with you all when we are not you; but this only happens in your country. Others respect people’s full backgrounds and recognize their full identity. They aren’t forced by AA’s to choose “black” just because they hate being “black” on their own? It reeks of insecurity and sorry, a lack of understanding of humanity. The USA is where “black” was originated-not the rest of the world. AA’s bully European-Americans & all others to see anyone who has a family member who may look like one of you as “black.” Ppl walk on eggshells because AA’s bully everyone to be “black,” or else they’re rAciSt or self hating. That being said...the world doesn't go by the one drop rule IN THEORY. In practice, that's not a reality, especially for people my shade or darker. I have well traveled friends who have told me as much. I think your stance regarding the race question being reversed in the case of Mathew and AD, had it gotten that far is kinda misguided and its misguided because you base your stance on the flawed premise (incorrectly perpetuated by the prior false premise with regards to Kenneth and Brittany raising BLACK kids. They wouldnt be raising BLACK kids theyd be raising INTERRACIAL kids).
The reason its misguiided is because as clarified above, the children being raised in both cases would not be BLACK they would be BI-RACIAL there is a massive difference in the kind of thnking that goes on when this isnt specified. Which is also kinda why AD is partially wrong for bringing it up how she did with Kenneth. She planted a seed of doubt in his head over a false premise (raising black kids) had she said interracial, its very possible he could have seen things differently (not agreeing with hiw behaviour or actions at ALL because his treatment of Brittany was horrendous).
Hopefully my point makes sense but essentially when youre too focused on black and white (pun intended) you lose sight of the nuance which in this case is the fact that the kids would be Bi-racial at the very least which brings with it its own struggles and triumphs unique to the people in that space
EDIT TO ADD: Its also important to note that in the case of Ken and Brit, the very notion that they would be raising black kids (how it has been phrased by too many people) almost completely invalidates Brittany or anyone in her position as a parent and i genuinely dont think thats fair at all

I’ve already touched on my comment of raising Black kids versus raising interracial kids in my first video responding to comments and explained that it is less about the childs make up (which I acknowledge is mixed) and more about how they will be perceived by the world. If you are perceived as Black, you’re going to have a Black experience, period. No racist is going to realistically be like “oh wait, before I call you the N word, are you mixed” 🤨
I’ve also already acknowledged that AD may have planted that seed in Ken’s head. I would really suggest watching/ rewatching that video with AD on the thumbnail bc I go into detail about my thoughts on all of this. You still may not end up agreeing with me (which is normal, we’re human) but you will have a much better idea of my stance.

Respectfully when it comes to the conversation AD had with Kenneth about being aware of how his children would be perceived if he had them with Brittany. Keeping in mind that we do not know how they edited the pod conversations or the ones on the beach, I don’t think it was AD’s place to speak on it to him. Kenneth is a grown man and is aware at that point he is engaged to a white woman he will potentially have children with. Did AD ask him first if he spoke to Brittany about it in the pods? Possible and they edited it out. It is not her place even as a black woman to presume those things about a couple. If you look at Lauren and Cameron on season 1, they addressed it on the show when they went on the trip and it was between them and no one else. Maybe there was someone on that season that addressed it to them and they edited it out so there’s always that to consider.
I do believe the bin deep (or whatever) is way out of proportion, laura has a sassy, dark, and extreme sense of humour. She was joking with a partner about bin deep but didn't expect him to go and literally bin deep A.D. Laura ain't ish, but you are really trying to see S.A at every corner, the joke was supposed to be an inside joke between the girl, but Jeremy, being drunk, let it all out.
