Excellent looking layout. It is obvious that you are well on your way to a first class model railroad. I really like the look you've achieved with the weathering on the Mississippi River swing span ......... fantastic structure! Your electrical work is very neat, tidy and commendable; nice job! I look forward to future updates as this is a very nice work-in-progress model railroad. Thank you for taking the time to share your accomplishments-to-date.
I'm a new subscriber and just recently started viewing. Wow! What a project. I'm from Nebraska but anytime I get to go to Chicago I convince my wife that we need to follow the UP GEneva Sub :-) Your modeling is very good and the whole layout looks great. I will be tuning in over the winter to see progress as well as to catch up on the previous videos. Thanks for sharing your layout.
How is your ceiling finished...the black part? Is it just black painted joists and upstairs flooring, or something added? A main objective of any finished train room ceiling, I suppose...to minimize dust?
I used flat fitted sheets and stapled them to the ceiling. Really helps to minimize dust from falling onto the layout. Great question, and thanks for watching..
very nice layout, the black things are called sticky backs and are used on electrical racks and panels for securing wire bundles. so do you live in this area that you are modeling and can do road trips to see the real thing, for modeling prototypically?
All of my research has come from the internet and Google Earth has a measuring tool. My layout is located in New Hampshire and I have never been to Rochelle park....hopefully someday..:)

Can you do a video on your Rochelle railway park? I'm currently working on it on some modules. Thanks, and great layout.
