The story with the SAHM is wild. She isn’t getting an allowance. She’s getting money for the house. A small amount of money and the husband is abusive. Gross. The boys are properly mad.

Story 3 - Her not being able to book the flight most likely is because her husband has drilled the idea into her brain that she is too stupid to do things. Like yes to us it’s common sense to google but I bet she has tried to do things like that & her husband berated her for doing it wrong some how so it makes sense that she would say her husband will handle it instead. This sounds like a textbook abusive relationship and sadly her husband has manipulated her daughter to also have a very negative opinion about her mother.

Story 3 is making me so sad. I hope that that mom can get away from that situation, and I hope that OP can eventually overcome her internalized misogyny, because it's super disgusting.

“Often father and daughter look down on mother (woman) together. They exchange meaningful glances when she misses a point. They agree that she is not bright as they are, cannot reason as they do. This collusion does not save the daughter from the mother’s fate.”

Exactly what I was thinking about when I was listening to that story. That OP not only lacks empathy for her mother, but is completely blind to the fact that this is going to be her fate. Finance is full of men like her father. Men who view women not as people, but as novelty pets to be shaped into trophy wives. She'll date one and little by little that man will chip away at her freedom and her self-confidence. She won't even realize what it's happening, because it's so much harder to spot it when you're in the middle of it. Eventually she'll wind up just like her mother with her own children looking down at her.

45:34 the last story is absolutely horrible and OP definitely needs to leave him. One time I was going down on my boyfriend now husband and I panicked because I knew I was about to throw up. I caught the vomit, chucked it onto our floor, which was carpeted because I didn’t want to throw up on him. I had tears in my eyes and I kept apologizing and he said it’s fine but you should’ve just thrown up on me because it’s gonna be a lot harder to get that out of the carpet than it would’ve been for me to just hop in the shower. He never made me feel bad about it and now we joke about it all the time and that was maybe a year or so into our relationship. We’ve been together for 11 years.

The last story is something I experienced at 17. My bf at the time and I were on a school trip & he convinced me to perform the same act on him. He, too, pushed my head at the same time the bus hit a bump. I gagged & puked. He stupidly told people & they all called him ‘chunky draws’. We had eaten McD’s shortly before this & apparently he had onion chunks left in his draws. I, too, didn’t realize then that being coerced into any sex act is SA.💔

That last story was horrific, unfortunately, partner/ spousal SA is one of the most common forms of SA. A lot of women and men are raised that in a relationship the woman has to give the man sex regardless of her own wants and needs. There are also places where SA between spouses can't be prosecuted. Makes me sick.

I would like to say that I know the guys use the terms SA and unalive because they post a lot of this on TikTok and the whole culture/TOS of TikTok doesn’t allow people to talk about topics like this without diluting them and using code words. But I just am so not for the censorship of it all. My mom had to ask me what SA was and I just think of all the sexual assault victims who might not know this abbreviation and end up listening to a story that is triggering for them. I also feel like using this coded language makes these topics even harder to have difficult conversations about. I feel like the code language also applies an air of shame around the topic since you can’t even call it by its name. Sorry for the rant it’s just a big button pusher for me and I felt I needed to get it out.

The SAHM story is crazy. The OP has internalized misogyny taught to her by her own father and aimed directly at her mother/his wife. OP’s mom “has no skills” but she was a travel agent, so clearly she *was* able to get a job at some point. The husband caught the mom, put her on SAHM duty, and has been telling her she’s too stupid to understand money for as long as OP has been alive, so at least 18-20 years. OP has also been taught by her father that money and money literacy is everything and SAHMotherhood is shameful, despite the fact that the father almost certainly had a hand in leading the mom to being a SAHM. The mom made a sacrifice to be a SAHM, and the OP thinks she’s better than her mother because she has dreams of being a gaslighting “girlboss”. The OP needs her shit slapped and to start respecting her mother because that mom has been doing the most to support her husband and daughter and son. This mom is legit Cinderella.

The scariest part about that ex husband in the second AITA post is that in order for Jean to adopt the kids, OP (AKA: mom) either has to sign away her parental rights OR… be deceased. Plus, what ex husband did by intercepting the kids at school, talking about how Jean was going to be their ‘new mom’ and that they needed to tell OP that they want to live with him- is literally like a textbook example of parental alienation. I got chills listening to that first AITA 🫠
