T-shirt in the snow, yeah he’s a New Englander now
He's a midwestern boy. He will walk around in flip flops.
Cam haha, all people who live in the north live the same life
No New England is shorts and a sweater but still wearing muck boots

Oh, and Frankie has a face like the moon. MOONKID
Do it!!! A Golden road tour would be cool to.. Fish around Moosehead
A R I made it a couple miles up katahdin and saw a moose on Moosehead Lake in Baxter. Been to Acadia a few times also. Would love to see him try some fishing around there.
Just letting everyone know that googan baits are awful. Overpriced, like why would I spend $7 for 5 baits when I could get 20 baits that work better for $3? They fly off the hook after a fish, overpriced, cheaply made, and not worth the hype at all. And Peric. Fuck Peric. He tried to fight me in the summer because I was keeping big bass to eat. Like fuck off it’s my fish and I can choose whether or not to keep it. Also googan baits ripped off 6th sense fishing’s crankbaits. It was so fucking obvious. Someone made a whole video on it but got a ton of hate by googan squad fanboys. (And if you’re reading this Peric, fuck. You. The world doesn’t revolve around you. Grow a pair)

Jon: in the wild you would not have a holster of franks red hot
Flair: i am i joke to you
Henry Masursky FLAIR KEEPS THAT FRANKS STRAPPED
“If it’s good meat you don’t need a lot of it” try telling that to my girlfriend
Maybe it's just not good meat
Jon: imma show you how i caught these fish
*shows clips of him releasing the fish*
Jon B: I've never had white bass before
LFG sniffing from afar: HONEY, grab the grease.
White perch are actually in the striped bass family. You were right about the way the fillet looked 👍
You know your becoming a true maine-er when your definition of winter clothes is putting on a pair of boots.
I live in Southern Ontario between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, and when I tell people I love to eat Bluegill, they lose their minds.. I think you should do a "best of the bass" which I'm sure you know technically includes the sunfish!
You don't have a boat? I mean I don't either but white perch get huge in those waters. Cooked fresh it's better than all the popular eating fish in Lake Erie, thawed walleye is not impressive in comparison. I've never fried up fresh bluegill so I can't say anything but people always talk about yellow perch as unbeatable.
Jon: “I can go now right?” Alex: “No, No, that’s a big NO!” 🤣😂
From Scotland here, thanks Jon for cooking fish the proper way. There's no point getting rid of the natural flavour of a fish with 99 different sauces and seasonings, if you do that, just buy some from the store.
Thank you for this tutorial. Yellow perch is my favorite eating fish. Hands down i like it as much as i like walleye. Yellow perch taste like walleye but better! Thank you guys for doing this tutorial I've always felt this way.
Hey Jon, I was wondering if you could please make a video about what the best lures are for specific conditions. Some examples would be like if the water is stained, if it’s colder but not frozen over, summer, fall, spring, and if the water is clear. Thanks Jon, I love your videos, keep up the good work!
You are my favorite RUclipsr ever
i gotta say yellow perch..(commenting before i watch) Jon b dizzle killin the game, i respect the editing and the work that goes into it, having FaZe Barker as my editor...gotta respect the grind!
McGrath Fishing weird flex but ok
JoeyO Films hahah I just love the solid editing!
Yeah, it just seems like you are using your editor to get views. I can’t really talk, cuz you have like 2k subs and I have 30, it’s just that if I were you I’d let my content do the talking. Keep it up!
JoeyO Films I respect what you’re saying but me and my editor are really good friends. But I’ll definitely do that. Thanks man👍🏽 I’ll check out your channel
McGrath Fishing sorry if I seemed aggressive. I’m just having a bit of a long day. Good luck with your channel!
You know he’s from Illinois when he goes outside in the snow with a t-shirt. “I’m from Illinois too hehe.”
MY GRANDMA PERTY HAS THAT SAME WOLF SHIRT. BRILLIANT
The Fatman yooo how are y
Jon B you sound happy and not so tight in knots ,, Glad you got the cabin ,,,Congrats
0:18 when you’re making dinner for your bae and the smoke alarms start going off
😂😂
Do another series like the devils river one in the spring 👀
Your fishing equipment is very good, congratulations on your incredible fishing, beautiful fish.
Hug!!!👍😉
White perch. Native to the very edge of the east coast. Invasive in the great lakes, made their way out the Illinois River and starting to spread through the Mississippi basin.
Love your adventures. We are starting some on our channel soon. Not a fan of perch but give me some crappie fillets anyday.
On a recent Allagash trip supplementing our brook trout meals, we added the plentiful white perch to our meals. My first reaction was the perch were too soft and spongy to eat, but cooking them in a pan with butter salt and pepper surprised me how excellent they were and I generally don't like most fish. Headingback to the Allegash this summer and very much looking forward to a white perch fish fry.
I love freshly fried white perch (better than yellow or walleye) it has no fishy smell but still has killer flavor, perfect equilibrium. You aren't supposed to freeze them because their flesh gets "unglued" unlike native lake fish.
Jon can you please go and make more podcasts with AP they are the best. Like so Jon can see this
i ate white perch. but i never had yellow perch. i caught both of these fish many times. white perch have a better fight than the yellow perch. White perch is in the same family as blue gills, pumpkin seeds, crappie, large mouth & small mouth bass. all in the sunfish family. yellow perch & walleyes are in the perch family.. great video!!!
Jon B jumping on that catch clean cook game 🤙🏻
Ain't No Laws While Drinking White Claws .....lmao.....Jon is Feeling Good
Hey Jon you can catch white perch on the south side of Chicago..... Wolf lake has them on both the Illinois and Indiana side
Great head to head catch and cook. How about pike vs pikerel
We get big white perch here in Maryland in the spring, great eating fish especially in the early spring when the water is still in the 40's
We love a man who can cook👏🏼 P.S.
Did you ever decide on a name for the Maine cabin??
Camp! We call a cabin/lakehouse "camp"
I miss catching white perch, we don't have them here in ND, wish we did, I loved catching them on sabattus, and those sabattus crappies 😯😯 16+ inchers all day, caught a leucistic large mouth on sabattus also
Hey Jon, would love to meet up when you get back in the DFW. I'm on the Fort Worth side of the metroplex and have been binging your stuff lately--keep it up!
12:06 lucky looks in and says I’m outa here!!! Lol
Ive caught a bunch of white perch in Oneida lake. Lotta people think theyre white bass but theyre indeed perch.
Jon u need to float the Saco river this summer. more booze is consumed on that river than any other! so much fun!
Great video jon. N definitely do the one fish that everyone says is better..walleye and a pike.
I'd love to see a Walleye vs Northern Pike taste test!
Walleyes better.
Cool video. Try. Coho salmon against Atlantic Salmon
My favourite perch to eat ist the black bass. Great for fish 'n chips. Delizioso, molto buono :D
Another Solid video JB. Have thoroughly enjoyed all your ME content and look forward to some international adventures soon!
If you’re in Somerset County in Late July/Early August would love to fish😂
@Jon B, I would say Pike vs Walleye taste test
is a nice battle
I like your catch and cooks man i know you dont do em often which deserves respect but the videos i have seen so far in that catagory are great man
Both are delicious pan fried with cole slaw and some fries. Cod beer of ur choice 😋
Truly can't be beat. Great job!
Ayyy recipe tips.... My go-to for both my catches and store bought fish is salt, pepper, olive oil, and tarragon! It is fantastic for light flaky fish and also earthier fish like steelies or trout.
Good vid sid
I totally have to try White Perch now.
Great catch and cook video my friend! Safe travels n your adventures. Blessings! 🎣👊🏼
Like ,em both.although white perch have a bit less meat for size compared to yellows....when we lived in ct we were happy with both.
Where I live in Vermont we catch white and yellow perch by the bucket load. Limit is 50 per person because they’re so abundant. Idk what you’re using for lure but we use a Swedish pimple with the actual eyes from the perch we catch
FINALLY!!! a catch and cook that dosent involve franks of deep frying! as a Chef im stoked! lol I cringe every time i see catch and cook cause i almost always know its gonna be fried or franks lol
You should do a make your own lure challenge with the googans
Need to get yourself a beater truck with a plow on it to store up there when the snow gets bad.
God I love Jon B
Welcome back from Sudan big dawg!
Nice catch
the American flag wolf shirt is DOPE
Ya you should totaly do another video like this. Pike vs pickerel
I live on the South Oregon Coast and there is a lot of yellow perch in lakes out in the dunes along the coast. (we have sea perch too but not the same as the fresh water perch) I had heard they are good eating but usually just throw them back because I'm bass fishing. But one time I kept some of the larger ones around 12" and they are pretty tasty sweet white meat. I think next time I keep some I will use for fish tacos.
If you want the ultimate test of flavors, moisture content, texture and overall taste, you gotta getcha a Sous Vide man. It will rock the fishing catch clean and cook world. & not just for fish.. ;) Good way to keep the playing field even on the video. Be safe in your travels overseas.. They are in some treacherous times over there now..
My grandfather was superintendent of the State of Maine Governor Hill Fish Hatchery when he retired after 41 years. They raised trout at that Hatchery. So I grew up around trout for the first 8 years of my life. My sister works for Inland Fish and Wildlife at the main offices in Augusta.
How many do you plan on stocking in the pond?
Safe travels! But the Maine vids are so fun
Jon B, the master of unfortunate mishaps with vehicles 😂
You should do like 5-10 different types of fish and rate/guess what they are. It could be a pretty good Googan squad vid.
It's finally starting to warm up here in the chitown burbs can't wait to get back on some open water 🤘
We own a swamp that has a ton of huge white perch. We catch so much that we start measuring them with our arms, if they aren’t from your had to elbow we throw them back😂. It would be awesome to fish it with you. But we are in Mississippi.
YO jon b, i see your in Maine in this video and your close New Hampshire and i think you should give come and give NH a try next time your up north. we have hundreds of lakes and ponds that contain hundreds of bass and trout, just the other day a man caught a 37 pound trout and broke the record in our state! Im not asking for u to fish with me, just wanted to say that NH has some really good fishing spot.
I've only had yellow perch.. and they are fun to catch great lil fighters and Taste Amazing whn cooked right.. 👍👍👍 much love JonB from SanAntonio TX ✌✌✌
I prefer white perch over yellow perch, UNLESS im cooking them in the "wild", in the wild i butterfly cut Yellows with a little creole seasoning over a fire, otherwise its white perch all the way. But i get alot of both in Massachusetts
(the easiest way to tell White Perch from White Bass is the number of stripes, White perch have a single stripe laterally where white bass have many.)
Taste test requires a base! Each meat cooked exactly the same. I completely agree, salt and pepper on the table, for the individual to add to Taste! And the fish cooked at the same temp for the same amount of time, in olive/vegetable oil - I personally find "Extra virgin olive oils" add a heavy flavour that can detract from the delicate flavour of fish.. sound like a conisour... I am not! Have just mucked it all up, by adding too much!! Generally of everything. Learned by my mistakes - generally- less is more. Sounds, looks and by your reactions; tastes delicious.
Waited longer for these Sudan videos than I have my dad to come back from getting milk🤘🏻 geeeeets Jon let’s see em!!
''Quality over Quantity! Right? If it's good meat, you don't need to much of it.'' I see what you did there Jon...
looks so cold and Jon B in shirt lol
I'll take white perch over yellow perch any day! Great video! Please do more catch and cook vids👊👍
Born and raised in Maine..and I’ve never eaten YP! Have filled 2 in preparation to eat, and each had the worm/grubs in them, so I passed!!
Hey Jon b you are the best RUclipsr and your vidoes are on 🔥 and keep up the good work
Come up to New Brunswick and fish this summer.
Get you some real winter tires and you won't have to worry about getting stuck in the snow.
Love your channel
PIKE VS PICKEREL
White perch (Morone americana) is in the same genus as the striped bass (Morone saxatilis) while the yellow perch is a different genus (Perca flavescens) TMYK
Love the Reddies (yellow perch) mate 👍 tasty fish 👍
Striper and shad season is coming to Western MA. Soon they will both run up the CT river to the Holyoke damn. Come join the 413. Love the videos bro!! Enjoy new England!!
Honestly jon b I’ve been waiting so long for someone on RUclips to do this comparison and I jus thought like nobody thought the subject of white perch is better than yellow sounded interesting but I deff always wanted or tried to look up a video like this so
Jon's videos are 1000 times better than the googan squad.
Makin me hungry as hell lol it's been atleast the minimum of like 10 years since i had perch or fish at all... Side note I only eat fish i catch
Do a salmon vs trout
Just a suggestion if you haven't already but it's a good idea to lower your tire pressure when you going to be in stuff like that. I'd go down to about 18 psi maybe 16. It may not seem like it but it really will help you get more traction
Alex has some great headphones. Sony WH-1000XM3's, awesome headphones 350$
Love the ice fishing vids!
much more catch and cooks please!!!
This dude Jon b had to get lit before he cooked them fish🤣 Maine must have that fire
You should make a video where you only use line and lures you can find around a body of water
Yellow perch are much better to me. Pretty much taste like a walleye. Sweet tasting meat. Used to destroy white perch by the 5 gallon buckets in Lake Ontario. Yellow or Jack perch were easier to catch in the Niagara River 👊
I catch white perch every time I go bass fishing. They love biting the rear treble of a 6xd!
Jon: no one has franks red hot in the wilderness camping.
Ap: brings 2 one gallon containers of franks red hot.
