I’ve found that pouring corn in a straight line can be helpful because it allows for more deer to feed at one time versus all in a pile where there is not as much space for them to all feed. Hope this helps!
Jon B. Deer pellets are cheap and much better for the deer than straight corn...They make molasses and grain mixture with a little bit of corn that I mix with the pellets and they love it....Welcome to Maine...
Yup spread it out like a automatic feeder would deer don’t like to stand still and eat the don’t feel comfortable doing that they like to take steps as they eat!
If he would have dumped the whole bag I would have said something but the amount he put out will be fine with the amount of deer there. It is true that it’s not good for them but they’re not like elk that will literally eat till they pop.
A few years back 12 deer were found dead in a small town in NH due to people feeding them during winter. Their digestive system has a hard time adjusting to a sudden change in diet
Their digestive system changes in winter to allow them to survive on twigs and such as corn is unnatural during winter. It is a well known fact that the food they eat in summer can and does kill them in winter.
Glad to see you're back here in Maine! Hope you explore even more in Maine. Lake Wassookeag and surrounding lakes are also great for fishing as well as puffer's pond as we call it.
Great video! Just call it "Nowhere". The videos you did with Spencer last year were a blast! Great collab!!! The ice trough was hilarious! Film it all....keep in mind that most don't have that kind of snow. They don't ice fish. They don't snowmobile. They don't have 24 hour bait stores that are on the honor system! What makes you excited to be there.......film it! Easy:P Be safe!!!
Favorite trail cam: Bushnell Trophy Cam. Retails around 100 and it super user-friendly. It also takes great pics. Last, Energizer ultimate lithium batteries have lasted me 3 hunting seasons in northern PA. Totally worth the price.
Dude you shouldn't feed deer corn in the Winter months if they don't have ample access to it elsewhere, their stomachs change over for woody browse during this period, feeding them high energy items such as corn can actually kill them due to the inability to digest it. There is a lot of good information on the web pertaining to the subject,
Trailcampro.com is the place to go if you have camera questions. Everytime I've gotten one of their recommendations it's worked really well. I've bought a few cheaper cameras on sale and they always disappoint. Really like the Browning offerings around the $100-130 mark
Just a note as someone who has over in the state don't be surprised about people walking on your land a lot of people look for moose antlers or next season hunting spots so it's not uncommon for people to walk past your camp at random times
If you want to watch him you gota buy a trip out! Prob less computer work still gets people’s attention off RUclips own schedule can do and say whatever. I’d watch but I doubt it
Browning trail cams, my family runs an outfitting business in Nebraska and that’s what we use, you can get 2-5 years of good use out of them. Buy them from scheels keep the recite and they will replace it if it gets broken( no time limit, no limit to how many times you can get it replaced)
Boy we love it when out of staters buy a camp and show up with all brand new stuff and spend money! good for the economy. Enyoy it, but remember you got about another 2 hrs north on 95 to explore too
Love the Maine vids bud, makes me miss home but glad you’re loving it. If I’m healed up from the wrist surgery this summer we gotta catch some stipers over in Brooksville.
First, cooking lobster, buy a lobster pot. When you cook lobster, put some seaweed in pot and bring it to a full rolling boil before putting the lobster in. Cover it and cook about 14 minutes. I've heard when you pull the antenna out easily they are done. Throw some clams and mussels in for a real yummy meal. Second, just love Lucky, so cute. How about naming it Lucky's Backwoods Camp.
Bro nice to see you back in Maine! You need to wait until the water is a steady boil and then you should do 7 minutes per pound and probably should use a cover as well
Jonny B, you might be best looking into little solar panels, as the cold zaps the battery juice a lot quicker, I'm not on about the big as panels, but a little 10w panel couple rechargeable batteries or if you putting a few up, Car battery 12v somert like 30w panel that just tops battery.. Be pretty kewl having power points around the property.. Everyone's favorite site Banggood or Aliexpress will have it all cheap as chips, Also you will benefit from the live feed, instead of having to keep checking all the time. Or to go one further, if your wanting to protect the cabin while your away, then big cctv system right around the property that you can view anywhere in the world at any time. 🎈🎈
Love it brother start doing trapping and hunting and survival challenges! My daughter and I trapped a hog yesterday slaughtered it in the woods and cooked over the fire for lunch, this is a way of life for all of us keep it up brother 💪🔥
Hey I wanna start off saying I freakin' love your content and how much you care about your audience. Just playing the guy that's dated a lot of vets: If Lucky is scooting across the floor and is weird about eating food there might be something wrong with her GI track. Might wanna bring it up to the vet on the next check up. Again, totally love your stuff. Come down to Maryland! We have some good fishing here in the Chesapeake Bay.
Name it The KFNS HQ in Maine.cool relax vid good eats too it must’ve so beautiful there all that nature to explore. Sounds like fun and u have a great sidekick with u ✌🏻KFNS 👊🏻
Bushnell cams are like middle of the road money wise but will hold over time very well. Also picture quality is really good. If you wanna get more than just deer try putting the camera between thigh and knee high
You don’t wanna feed them corn in the winter. They have a hard time digesting it and does more harm than good. Alfalfa is prime deer feed in the winter
Jon B's LMB "little maine bakery " Not trying to do a flair thing like the broot bakery, but more like Hansel and gretel the cabin in the woods + always thinking fishing and we all love us some LMB fishing for real
Jon, big fan and love the content. But you should reconsider feeding deer corn in the winter. The rapid change in diet from natural browse to complex carbohydrates, like corn, can cause digestive problems (acidosis) and often kills the deer. There's a lot of information online about it. Supplementing a deer's diet is more of a late spring-summer activity
Love the Maine series bud. Keep it up! U should probably buy yourself a few firearms for your own safety but other than that it's great seeing you so excited about upcoming adventures! Keep exploring and keep learning. It would be cool to do a bushcraft survival kinda thing once you put some fish in your pond. Do the research and do it right if u do decide to...lol Just a thought. Not that it matters. Good luck J. Dawg and keep thriving!
I've been using Browning Spec Ops trail cams for the last couple years. Best video quality of all the cams I've used. Gotta use lithium batteries in the cold weather. On my three cams, I get between 100 and 200 videos on each every night. Batteries last about 3 weeks with video.
Name of the Cabin should be "Camp Never Stop", good merch possibilities. Drawing of the Cabin, trees each side, with the name above. Dude if you do this, I want a hoodie. BTW my plan was early retirement in 3 years, to upper Minnesota, near Boundry Waters, now I am thinking Central Maine, Never Stop, Cheers.
16:29 🤦♂️....the squeaking noise you are referring to is simply air bubbles escaping during the boiling process lobsters don't have vocal cords they can't make any noise on their own LOL
Jon b make sure you post no trespassing signs. In Maine you need to post visible no trespassing signs on your property lines otherwise it's free game for anyone to hunt. That's possible it's what those footprints came from.
Jon, you seem like a pretty humble guy. Wanted to encourage you to hit up your buddy Spence for lessons sharpening and using the chainsaw and maybe even repairing/upkeep. Probably gonna end up buying another. Also an Axe or two, and learn to care for them. Be cool to find an old timer/ neighbor you could learn skills and info from around there. Folks love sharing knowledge to someone honestly eager to learn. Very cool to see you in this place, seems like a home perfect for a man like you. Gonna be a lot of work but you seem ready and able. Regs for stocking your pond? Trapping regs? In the future you might enjoy trapping game off your property for fresh meat and possibly learning a bit about skinning/fur trading $. Another great experience and again, learn from someone around there maybe. ☮️ Wheelchair John in Idaho 😎
name the cabin “The Rigged Resort”
Thats a good one!
@@DWSOutdoors that's for sure !!

Matt Grimmett it’s legal in Maine😂😂
Yes he is lol
I knew other people had to tell too 😂
"we went out snowmobiling and a branch hit me" let's keep it real jon ,you hit a branch.
No, I've had some trees jump out in front of me before out ride trails.

that’s what i said lol good name
Having watched Jon try to cook a lobster twice now I dont believe he knows what boiling water actually looks like lmao
I’ve found that pouring corn in a straight line can be helpful because it allows for more deer to feed at one time versus all in a pile where there is not as much space for them to all feed. Hope this helps!
I agree with this guy. Dumping in a line makes it easier to get more deer on camera.
Or to throw it and spread it out along the ground far apart
Did anyone else see that dude at 3:27 standing at the door, creepy..
somehow that guy wad screepy
i was finna say that😂
his brother lol
Lucky + JB & Spenc + Maine vids = one happy girl. Let's go. Call the camp the Rigged Palace.
Jon B gonna start doing some Flair style vids on his land 😂
Deer don't digest corn well in cold weather more damage than good
K Mcdonald was looking to see if anyone else knew... can actually kill them too :/
It just passes through them. Their stomaches have to adjust to it. Same thing as people running hay out to deer yards in the winter.
If he would have dumped the whole bag I would have said something but the amount he put out will be fine with the amount of deer there. It is true that it’s not good for them but they’re not like elk that will literally eat till they pop.
Sweet video love the cabin man!!! Keep on fishing.
What's up bro!!! Glad to c u back in the cabin ....glad you bring your pup with!!

Spence: allow me to introduce myself

Can’t spell ice fishing without Busch light, love it😂😂👍🏼👍🏼
I'm loving these Maine videos, though I would like to see more open water fishing
the entire state is frozen it gets to -20 degrees often during the winter
Just wait until spring when the trout start running, until then it'll be -40 some days
