Wie finde ich den besten/effizientesten Wing für böige Seen mit eher wenig Wind im Landesinneren?
I want to up my Game from Pumping to Winging
Viele Hersteller verwenden für die teureren Modelle leichtere (aber teurere) Materialien. Gongs leichte Wings heissen jeweils "Aramid". Die Ensis "Drive" sind auch super leicht!
Vielen Dank!
What board does he use for winging? Most are using mid length or downwind boards to push light wind limits?
I‘ll ask him!
Fone Midlength 5.8 - I had the chance to try it once... Fantastic board!
Can you ask him - is his 8m wing is the optimum for gaining higher speed for these low wind conditions, or it is a must in order to get up on foil? So for example given that electric assist or enormous board lifted you up, maybe smaller wing will gain higher speed?
@@vim55k I‘ll collect a few questions and will ask him those all together..!
So that‘s what he wrote to me: Yes *8m wing in 5-8kn in combination with a high aspect foil* more than 12 aspect ratio like the eagle x & *a narrow board* less than 20“ *and long* of min 5.8‘ is at the moment *the only way to go fast in winging in this low wind*
A kitefoiler takes in 5-8kn wind a ramair kite of min 10m2
If the kitefoiler want to go up & down wind he takes a kite up to 23m2!
A windfoiler takes a 10m2 sail in 8-10kn wind
*The wing is your motor to generate the power in this light winds* - the wing surface is limited, because of the limited wing span of your body hight to avoid wing tip touches in the water..
the top winging speed in 5-8kn Wind is limited because of the very high drag of the wing
@@mattonfoil thank you.
A wing is a motor, I see... So bigger should be faster. Like racing kites use big kite despite the drag.
Interesting to know about kite foiling, I thought it is possible to foil in the lightest winds with some peek, but turns out for upwind have to take such a big one...
I very much like your energy connecting people in this field!
