Creepy Horror Story: What happens when a son can't handle his mother's demands

Here's my story for the last three cards:
CARD 1
Every morning, the howling wind sounded like the cry of a woman in pain. The legends said that it was the Screaming Tree, and she cried for her lost love. The story told around town was that she was madly in love with her next-door neighbor, Jason. He was handsome, smart, funny and also in love with Melody. The problem was Jason’s mom. She didn’t like Melody, and thought that she wasn’t good enough for Jason.
Jason wouldn’t listen to his mom and kept visiting Melody whenever he had some free time. Over time, he became more and more disobedient to his mother.
Since she couldn’t get Jason to listen, she invited Melody over for tea to make peace. Instead, she used her magic to turn Melody into a tree and replanted her in the gorge occupied by Death Mists.
CARD 2
When Jason found out, he stormed out of the house and went searching for Melody. He asked for help from everybody he knew, but no one wanted to go against his mother. She was too powerful, and they were afraid she would do to them what she did to Melody.
Jason came across an old sacramancer who agreed to help. The gorge where Melody was planted was the home of Death Mists and could only be visited by elementals. So, in order for Jason to get there, he had to fuse with an elemental. Jason agreed. The sacramancer extracted Jason’s pure and shadow form. The shadow form was melded with the elemental and his pure form was allowed to wander around the castle.
Searching the gorge, he found Melody in a darkened corner and promised he would save her. The sacramancer who helped them could return them to their original form. They would leave the village to create a life of their own.
CARD 3
While talking to Melody, Jason’s form emerged from the elemental and, right before he touched her, he froze. In the citadel of the sacramancer, Jason’s pure form was bound to the front yard. Whenever someone approached the citadel, Jason told them to halt and asked why they were there. If they were threatening, he became bright white and blinded the intruders.
The sacramancer smiled at Jason’s pure form. Best deal he had ever done. He got a permanent guard and Jason got to see his girlfriend. That will teach his ex-wife a lesson.
