    Great job.
    Another tip for you Mr FLIPPA, throw in a wet paper towel into baggie with paint brush or roller. The humidity of the paper towel helps keep brush or roller pliable even longer.

    if i were to follow the same steps for my wooden desk and successfully finish it, will the black paints eventually wear out? cuz I will be using my desk everyday and there will be a friction on the surface of the desk

    Why do you prefer fusion mineral paint over behr black paint? Curious because I am probably going to run out of my behr black paint soon. Maybe I need to switch it up. 🤔

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  3 года назад +1

      I found the FM paint would adhere better to the surface! I had Behr peel on some projects. But that could have been poor prep work too. I also find Fusion glides on nicely with a bit of water on your brush.
      Also, the combo of fusion and Varathanes diamond wood finish water-based poly feels super durable, because Fusion says they have a built-in topcoat on the paint, so adding poly is like double protection!

      @@FurnitureFlippa Does a container last longer for you than the similar sized behr paint?

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  3 года назад +1

      @@ReconstructingEmily If I spray Behr and brush Fusion, Fusion lasts much longer. I haven't sprayed fusion yet. And brushing Fusion lasts longer than brushing Behr because Fusions coverage is better.

    It’s not my taste, but he did a beautiful job!!! So impressive! What would you suggest for a petite metal folding side table? I have a bottle of primer and matte black spraypaint I was going to paint it, but it does have a couple of rust spots and one hole the length of an American quarter I’m unsure how to remedy. Should I patch it somehow? Is there a wood filler equivalent for metal? Why am I asking you all these questions? I’m just going to google it. Cheers and thanks in advance! lol

    I need to do a wooden kitchen table in black but only the top..so what kind of paint do I use cause food, plates etc...will be going on there. Do no want paint coming off..would love your advice. Thank you!

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  3 года назад

      Would you consider a black stain? That would probably hold up great with multiple coats of poly over it compared to paint.
      But this method in this video would hold up good to with an extra 4-6 coats of poly on the top for extra protection.

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  Год назад

      You can, but you will likely get brush strokes/marks. Use a foam applicator for best results without a sprayer. You can see me doing this in my latest videos painting the cane chairs or the "Painting Nightstands for Beginners" video. Thanks for watching!

    is the matte primer, like matte paint, harder to clean or because it is a primer and you put another coat of paint on top of it, you don't have that problem? Maybe I'm thinking of matte finishes and matte primers don't have that problem so as long as your top coat is different....

      Little strokes aren't bad!! If you dont want them just sand with high grit after each coat. Then make sure the last one is thin!

      @@FurnitureFlippa Man! You finally helped me figure it out! I’m using chalk paint now and still could not get it right. Not only did I do short strokes, I also used a water mister. It makes the paint go farther and smooth. I’m excited now. I was feeling so defeated. Now, I have a great new outlook. I am a slow, methodical person in everything I do, even when eating. Working with the paint until my brush is empty along with water gave me decent 1 coat coverage. Tomorrow I’ll give it a second coat and I really think it’s going to be awesome.

    • @FurnitureFlippa

      Multiple coats of a topcoat protection layer. Polyurethane, lacquer, or wax are common ways to protect the paint.

      I don't because I find it risks scuffing the surface. If you have a 600 grit sanding sponge pad you can certainly give it a light sand that's no problem!
