Anne-Sophie Mutter says “Beethoven has really found the eternal message of embracing mankind. The idea that we can and should live in a brother and sisterhood is really the essence of his music.”
    Do you agree?

Thank God musicians do not have political power, such stupid idealism would result only in political catastrophe - music transcends all nations, creeds, races and beliefs, it unites mankind in a shared unity of feeling, unfortunately real life exists at a different plane, where borders exist and there are differences is money, fame, power and influence between individuals who have competing needs, interests, rights and responsibilities. Those competing needs do not get resolved with thoughtless, well-meaning soundbites from celebrities talking from their rarified bubbles of pampered privilege.

@@humphryshan9494 Even though there are many youngsters who tune in classical music, majority of them tune into more mainstream music as it is very catchy which can be easily likeable to which more people like it more than classical. Although people are tuned into music like pop, rap, etc, the problem is either less curiousity to learn about a totally new genre or just that it's their own musical taste. One of the worst issues with nowadays in classical music, is that when it comes to talent shows like Britain's got talent or Americas got talent the media potrays classical music to be a very boring genre thus being very disrespectful to the way how it is. For example, last year in Americas got talent in 2019, there was this Italian pianist who played Fur Elise where in just few seconds some of the audience members were caught yawning, but when he did a strange energetic dance on fur Elise everybody cheered him! He didn't even finish the piece and he just kicked his piano stool and danced !Another Example I saw was on Britain's got talent 2009, there were these two women ( Sue and Janine) who played an original composition and both were actually amazing, (They played a keyboard (Janine)and violin (Sue)duo) but they were given all red buzzers. But Simon called out one of them, which was Sue who played the violin where Simon asked her to continue being a solo player without her friend. (Where she accepted) But then.she played Presto of Summer by Antonio Vivaldi, where everybody cheered again! You will notice that majority of the people who play classical music will also play flight of the bumblebee in numerous occasions other than anything else. The problem is they way how media portrays it to which they probably do fake reactions as it scripted reality TV. However we still have contemporary composers like Max Richter, Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Alma Deutscher (Although she is a classical composer). But based on how the world is, it has changed. However look at the variety of music we can listen to, we have pop, R & B, rock, metal, EDM, etc. SO we have so may options to choose from. The good thing is because all technology , we have access to RUclips where we can see whatever music or anything we like. We all are different in our likes and dislikes, the only thing is there shouldn't be a conflict within any genre to create any trouble. All this is a personal opinion, Have a good day

Impassioned music, this Largo lingers in your mind. The opening passage remains embedded forever. It imparts peace and tranaquility. So soothing.

I must have made a comment before, because this is my favorite concert above all! As I grow older, I have instructed my son and daughter to play the Third Movement when I die. I would love the full concert, but the mourners would find it too long. Anyhow, I'll always have it with me, dead or alive!
